One of the best TV themes ever! A pity Stanwyck did not like the show and left. Without her it lost much attraction to me. What I'll never understand is why some idiot put the UFO in the final episode. So that series was doomed definitively to never return. The Colbys had much potential and some really good actors.

@TheOceanMonarch I know, Stephanie Beacham, and Maxwell Caulfield! I think the whole UFO thing was to attract viewers. Personally i think Fallon should have woken up and it was a dream, or something. That would explain it reasonably. But instead they used it to pull Jeff and Fallon apart again... SO stupid

I thought this was better that Dynasty, which was rapidly expiring when this debuted (the two Krystals).

But no-one watched this- I read the second season tanked- 72 or something in the ratings.

it was to benefit abc in the ratings, i had bad expectations of the colbys but wow Steph Beecham really showed America a good bitch with more depth even more than Joan Collins as Alexis, another british golden goose for american television :) wow i guess it's clear where good quality bitchyness comes from :)

my cousin and i really tried to get into this show when it debuted but like most people, the only person we ended up really caring about was Sable lol! I never paid attention to Fallon after Pamela Sue Martin left Dynasty and the character was recast with Emma Samms so Fallon and Jeff's presence on the Colby's didnt do anything for me. Of course we always perked up whenever Dominique appeared on the show (which was a rarity) and Joan Collins decried the show, urging viewers to boycott it.

Let's face it, Beacham deserved to have Montalban and Howard appear before her "and" credit. It's as if they didn't want to give her *too* much Collins-like clout, I mean, she didn't get an "as Sable" either. Billing be damned, we all know she was the shining star of this show.

They didn't x-over that storyline over to "Dynasty" when Fallon returned to it. I could be wrong though as I didn't watch "Dynasty" as much at that point. Take it easy getosupastar.

For the most part no aside form the Fallon/UFO stuff. Sable & Monica talked a little bit about Jason and Miles, mostly that she and Jason were divorced. Miles of course was in the reunion movie still trying to win back Fallon.

Oddly enough there is a video floating on You Tube of the alternative theme to Star Trek: TNG, its almost identical to the Colby's :D
