Lamento decir, que al menos para mi, Nightwish apesta sin Tarja.

Escuche 30 segundos de la canción cantada por Anette y tuve que cerrar la pestaña y venir a escuchar esta versión para recordar que es una maravillosa canción; claro esta, trate de hacerlo justo y escuchar versiones en vivo, pero Tarja la supera por mucho.

Anette is too bubblegum and do not look the part - Tarja took it to far at times and compared to Simone from EPICA, her voice sounds forced and did not always fit the melody - The band made them both - still do

@MariusMulder Kinda dissagree on the Tarja comment. Its not really forced, mainly vocal style and a hint of accent changes the sound a bit. Vocals are not always intended to get lost or to only interweave with the melody. You have to remember that the voice is just as much an instrument as a guitar and they break from the melody on lead or in solos.

It is true; this isn't live. But this was on a TV show and most TV shows will not let you play live, so you have to use playback. If it makes you happier, you can tell that they ae not used to playback. ;P Tarja usually does more, and if you watch Emppu, sometimes he doesn't even pretend to play the notes at all, he just holds the guitar. ;D

@tinmanluver35 As far as I can see, there are no cables, no drum mics and Toumas' keyboard - on top of that - is turned off xD awesome. There's a great Iron Maiden video where they showed how to deal with playback by just messing it completly up. But you need the balls for that...

What I understand is that Tarja expresses her deepest emotions when she sings. Pick a song of that LIVE that's sung by her .... Any song. All her energy and emotions are in there ... She is sad at Creek Mari's Blood, sweet and hopeful at Ghost Love Score and wild and energetic at Wishmaster. Tarja wasnt fired for that reason.

There was a long time ongoing problem between Toumas, the Songwriter, and Tarja, and Tarja said the next album would be her last with nightwish. The rest of the band appearently did not see any sense in keeping her in the band, and so after the (later named) end of an era concert they asked her to leave the band in an open letter( I think it's still on the NW homepage, if you want to read it). That's the story as far as I know it.
