As a bassist I disagree with this, there are tons of wonderful instruments that receive much less attention than the bass. Things like the ukulele, banjo and mandoline which most people just see as gimmick instruments.

@Chainsaw20x7 No No don't get me wrong, please. The ukulele is overlooked, and a fantastic instrument, Right, I'll definitely agree to that, but this is a bass related video, so I'm thinking it's a bit more relevant how the bass is viewed.

Now, The ukulele is much less acknowledged than the bass, But surely you can see yourself, that the bass plays a much bigger role in modern music, almost every band has a bassist, it really shapes the industry, that's why it deserves more focus than it gets.

But just the fact it is allowed to shape the industry and is so commonly used, is a pretty good amount of respect in and of itself, even if it does so from the background. I don't think its just so much an under apprication people have for bass, it's more of an over apprication people have for the guitar.
