This was the best punisher film to date. It's the most accurate to the comics and has all the violence that is definitely needed for a punisher movie. I'm only guessing that a lot of people hated it simply because it was a movie for the fans of the comics rather than a movie for moviegoers. I hope they go into making a sequel man. I was watching this with the commentary on and it does'nt seem likely that a second one'll happen.

War Zone was a B movie to me. Absolutely ridiculous. That Jigsaw brother was nothing but a fat idiot bald midget, and punisher a complete showoff. His knives cuts heads, his punches destroy skulls, and god i hate so much that first scene where he hangs shooting in every direction: they confused Frank Castle with Antonio Banderas.

2004 movie wasn't a very good movie but a lot better than this crap. I'm even doubting about Dolph Lundgren's one being better tan War Zone!

Ray stevenson Punisher is more real in aspects of being a cold blooded vigilante and dont express feelings on people easily because for the early trauma of losing his entire family on a picnic... the pert that touches me was when the angela donatelli daughter syas to punisher - dont leave me!!!... Frank acts with the kids as a sort of a child mannered guy. Jigsaw was great but was very artificial on his attitude and his brother has his lunatic attitudes and finally the set up was in new york.

saw the movie on Dec. 5th and it was OK. A lot of gun fights however some scenes were very cheesy but I find that Lions Gate always has cheesy scenes in most of their movies. At least this time they made the Punisher more rated R.

I loved Thomas Jane as Castle. His voice and look was perfect for a film adaptation of the comic. The film itself was incredible and nice and brutal. I can't really imagine the Punisher without Jane, but I think Stevenson will do a good job. He's a convincing tough guy (he played Pullo in Rome VERY well).

Hopefully it will be good, but to me, Thomas Jane will always be the Punisher. I'm not sure Stevenson can bring the same level of emotion to the role.

The original wasn't with Thomas Jane, it was with Dolph Lundgren, and that sucked - the T.J one was OK, this seems to have a lot more action and seems more suited for the 21st century and a reintroduction of the character - which is kinda stupid because the character's origin story has already been established in two other movies.
