Before they were born God said that the elder shall serve the younger...and Esau won the fight in the womb and was born first...so Jacob was suppose to get the birthright and the prophecy played out as he tricked Esau

The same thing as the devil tries to recieve our inhertance of gods kingdom through sin. Which is why we should not be foolish and sin for a small time of pleasure (even if its for ur whole life of pleasures because its still small compared to eternity)

The name Jacob means a surplanter or a crook and that is really what he was, but God was working through his deeds to accomplish His purposes. Actually according to the Bible it was not Jacob who had the wrong evaluation, but Esau who sold his birthright for a bowl of soup who had his priorities way out of wack.

Jacob took advantage of Esau's hunger, and thought this was a great time to ask for Esau's inheritence? Unfairness is displayed on Jacob's part... he thought his bowl of soup was equivalent to Esau's inheritence?

Thank you for your encouragement. We have some things in common, in that we home schooled our children, and i used to be a gymnastics coach many years ago. I hope to do more of these this fall and winter (Probably Daniel stories), but I have had to stop for the time being because of cancer which I trust is on the mend.
