I never heard of Bonnie Hunt. She's a better interviewer than most. She doesn't have that overwhelming ego that gets in the way of the interview.

Mary is a little confused. The series she is describing and saying David Letterman was on is "The Mary Tyler Moore Hour," but that's not the show he was on with her. David was one of her co-stars on the comedy-variety series, "Mary," which aired briefly, several months before "The Mary Tyler Moore Hour." Michael Keaton, however, was on "The Mary Tyler Moore Hour," as well as "Mary."

@rachelazw David Letterman also appeared on The Mary Tyler Moore Hour as the announcer. It was the episode with Linda Lavin. There was a scene where David asks Mary McKinnon to make him breakfast and she puts a grapefruit in his aec -- Dave showed the clip on his show.
