the person that made this machine has taken all the art and creftsmanship out of the art of spinning. Ill bet you I can make a better looking part than that machine
the copper is probably alloyed with zinc,spinning materials are usually quite pure,or contain higher amounts of the softest metal,with steel the production method regarding smeltering and rolling to sheet matters alot if you dont want a hernia.Gold,Copper and Aluminum are fun,brass and silver and bronze are fun,but work.steel CR1 is ok,stainless sucks,the the money should make up for the stitches ha ha ha
@rocin100 I can't get brass to spin. I'm using cartridge brass, and I'm finding I have to anneal continuously. 1100 Al and 3003 Al works well though. Any ideas?
That's not metal spinning, that's button pushing & programing. Unless your using spoons /scissors and cutoff bar, and feeling the vibration in your hands, your not metal spinning.
@DDRC001 It said metal spinning. It didn't say that a human was. :D "your" is indicative of a human, but this is quite obviously metal spinning. Yes, I am pedantic. Though, the brunt of what you say is true. It's much more special when done by hand.
i cant really see but are the wheel tools turning as well? i just want to spin a tiny bike light on my benchtop lathe and i want to make sure i semi know what im doing :)
Someone has to program it the art is just moving through another medium to the work.

@Cstrife234 How is it more special? Because there's more chance of a human being maimed in an accident? That makes it worth more money?

The wheels (rollers) are not powered!! they only moove when they touch the spinning blank.
And it's all done by hydraulics.
Model = (mandrel)
It's not as complicated as it looks!!! honestly!!!!
