Hmm.... Usually, the original artists performing the original songs are way better than the remakes... But I have to say that I prefer Declan Galbraith's performance and voice quite a bit better than this one. The two main singers in this video are both BOYS, Michael Patrick "Paddy" Kelly (w/ brown hair) and Angelo Kelly (w/ blonde hair). This single, "An Angel" was on the Kelly Family's album "Over The Hump" in 1995. At the time, Paddy was about 17 and Angelo about 14. Paddy is now 31, living in France as a catholic monk, his new name is John Paul Mary, and he no longer makes music. Angelo is now 28, married w/ 3 kids and still making music. The Kelly Family still tours occasionally.

I disagree, i tink dis song has so much more emotion and personality when sung by the kellys because they did write it, and they wrote it for there deceased mother which makes it so much more emotive and likeable. Declan doesn't have the right voice for this song. He's an all right singer but he doesnt suit this song and in my oppinion ruins it.

Their voices are very... very strange. But I like them. It's nice to have a break from the synthesized and homophonic voices of modern singers. These voices are unique, and they're packed with emotion. I don't think that you can ask for much more than that. Sure, Declan's version is cool, but the bottom line is, it's fake. He doesn't know what loss is. His voice has range, but lacks power, and he uses pitch correction. This version is much more unique. Much less superficial.

I have to say for listening to Declan's version first I like it better just because of the harmony of his voice with the song. The Kelly's sang it very well and I like their version a lot but there are some places in the song where their voices are in my opinion a little off and it sort of interrupts the song. They did put a lot of emotion into the song so that helps to discard the fluctuations in their voices. Either way it is a good song and the Kelly's are good singers.
