I'm sick of opening New Order vidoes and reading about Ian Curtis. Joy Division wouldn't have been so loved if it hadn't have been for the resulting success of the surviving members.
@FishCustardFanzine There wouldn't be a New Order had not the members of Joy Division gotten together - you can't truely appreciate the music of today if you can't appreciate the music of the past.
@3LARI I don't think it would have been wise of them to continue in the same direction after the death of Ian Curtis. I think that there would have been a backlash if they just tried to imitate Joy Division.
@markoctavio I think you mean... 'Joy Division are over rated.' which by the way they aren't, they're under rated in comparison to the most over rated band of all time, the beatles.
@MightyHealthy1 Really?!! Could be, dude. I always thought it was because the lead singer was on the stuff and got clean. Guess, it was just club/DJ gossip from back in the day. Song still kicks!
how amazing is this song! my childhood! those were the days! lol sudden sense of liberty...................i used to think that the day would never come..........the better it gets the better it gets. x

Which of them were addicted to heroin?
This is so far from Joy Division. I wonder what Ian Curtis would make of this. Its very pop. I prefer Joy Division.

anyone seen the "pure" vid? (the one without the concert footage.. I understand that the version here was re-done in the early 90s).
MasterEiji 4 years ago
I remember seeing this vid back in 1987 when it came out, and it had the concert footage in it then. I think this is the original.
djb1969 4 years ago
@MasterEiji This is the original video from 1987. I was a New Order nut back in the mid to late eighties, so I should know :)

Does anyone know if the sign language used in the video is accurate?

It is accurate, but it differs from what you'll see in the U.S.
