  • I love the rugged, Old-Testament prophet style, to Eli in this film. He just walks the earth as the Lord leads him. Rugged Christianity beats lame Christianity any day. God is One Who is powerful yet loving. Definitely one of my favorite apocalyptic films.

  • in a ending world religion can be a powerfull tool

  • If you believe in god, whomever or whatever your diety is, then I cannot disrespect that. but if you follow the new testament & the latin christian mantra then that, my friends is the greatest propaganda story ever written. it is polluted & distired - there may be some element if truth, a grain if u like, but the written word is not all it seems. the beleif in being human , decent & honest comes from within, not a god, a book or a website comment.

    Peace out!

  • OF course the movie is about religion!!! The man is trying to get the bible to a safe place where it can be mass produced again and at least be saved from the apocalyptic world. Open thine eyes and ye shall see:)

  • Anyone saying this movie is not about religion, knows nothing. The majority of the movie is about how Eli is being guided by gods hand so that his promise of eternal life is not lost. Eli in this movie plays the role of a prophet and later the girl becomes one.

  • i had nerver seen a movie which is so epic like The Book of Eli

  • This movie kinda made me cry. Watching it, I could feel the holy spirit start to move in me...

    Sorry if you're not a believer, I just can't hide/deny what I feel inside.

  • you can take or leave this............. The movie to me was awsome but the message I got was to show how powerful anything people believe in can be. The "Book" was going to be used as a power item as it is now. It really doesnt matter what you believe just try to understand the underlying message here.

  • I always get this Fallout-like feeling watching this film. Amazing atmosphere.

  • denzel washington- one of the greatest actors to ever live

  • @JFOG....What is righteous? This world thrives on injustice and war which causes more suffering. Blind lead the blind.......

  • Fallout 3 ?

  • @chin0by The book of revelations actually.

  • Youtube comments are of course religious battles. Come on people. Grow up.

  • really great set extensions in this movie

  • anyway great muzik better movie denzel...a knockout whose time is rapidly approaching from the look of things here. and i should know, im an x-preacher

  • This is one of my movies on my list of movies you must see before you die. Most movies today are all missing something very important. A POINT.

  • Most people fail to understand: almost all rennaisance scientists of note were Christian. Most were born, and died devoutly Catholic. And honestly. Do you really think what one group of people really lined up with what Christianity really preached? So the Pope was a figurehead politician taking bribes. Guess what? That means he had no actual voice on what real Christianity is. Guess what? That means the Dark Ages happened because of politicians, not because of religion...

  • @Eleolius ok then religion is the tool used by these politicians to control the masses. Is it any better?

  • @WickedSick031 Oh please, stfu. Religion been around since the dawn of time, without it, this world would be much worse. If you don't think you have to pay a price when you die, watch what people will do. Become murderers, rapists, and worse. So fuck off you piece of shit, think before you speak.

  • for people that did not know the thing that caused society to fall and the world utterly destroyed is because a nucelar war. this takes place 30 years after the initial atomic blasts

  • @bengaljam And you know that because your the reincarnation of Nostradamus, right? Why is youtube full of so many dumbasses. lol

  • @maddogspc You are commenting on a post by a 12 Year old. He is talking about the movie "The book of Eli". Watch the movie and read the post jackass!

  • @bengaljam Nuclear War isnt what happened in the movie, it was the sun. War only ensued. Well supposedly, anyway. Sorry, didn't realize he was commenting on the movie.

  • @maddogspc I thought the Nuclear War "tore a hole in the sky," and that's how the Sun fried the Earth. I don't think the Ozone Layer would simply crack of natural causes.

  • I don't believe in God or Jesus, or any religion, yet I found this movie to be awe-inspiring, amazing, and one of the best films ever made.

  • @CMoonB It isn't inherintly (did I spell that right?) religious, it just has some religious content. It isn't favoriting Christianity.

  • Cheddar bob!

  • You can learn so much from this movie. And religion is not bad, leaders in the past used the bible for their own use and manipulated the little people, like the guy in the movie wanted to. Many people dont realize that also many good things happend by religion. Im religious and I love this movie.

  • for some reason this movie reminds me of Fallout.

  • I know there are a lot of different views about this film, but everyone seems to agree that it's a positive Christian tale. I understand the film to be the opposite of that.

    Gary Oldman's character:

"IT'S NOT A FUCKIN' BOOK! IT'S A WEAPON. A weapon aimed right at the hearts and minds of the weak and the desperate. It will give us control of them. People will come from all over, they'll do exactly what I tell 'em if the words are from the book. It's happened before and it'll happen again."

  • @TweekDash NO that is how the katholic priests in the past used the bible for their own purposes! The real bible is good and peaceful. In my religon course there is a christian and a muslim, both are soo friendly, I learned so much from them, there are also best friends btw.

  • @TweekDash that quote is a sinful man talking about God's Word which has been used in the past by sinful men in sinful ways. The Word is about hope, Eli was a good (albeit sinful) man trying to save God's Word for generations to come for the hope it represents to him and millions before him. What Oldman's character represents is the depravity of man and what he does with good. Btw, Eli didn't seem like a weak character; in fact, whimpering Oldman at the end fits the bill pretty well.

  • @genstonewall The Word is about hope? What are you talking about?

  • Alright, so humanity wanted to create the most powerful weapon imagineable to destroy their enimies but now we are like, "Hey, we should use them, they could destroy the planet" THEN WHY THE HELL DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE THEM AND SO MANY OF THEM!?!?!?!?! Humans are a bunch of greedy, ignorant, selfish, fat, cowardice, stupid pigs! They need to use the nuclear weapons on themselves, nonw that they already created them and gave some to the bad guys! I hate life - _ -

  • @IloveMIT8923 You should kill yourself.

  • @IloveMIT8923 I agree with @toastertown6 . The last thing the world needs is people like you. Pessimists only bring the general moral of the world down and are the sole reason we even have atomic bombs in the first place. The world is a beautiful place full of wonders, and if you don't want to accept it as a bright and incredible thing, then you might as well just kill yourself.

OR you could make a change. Up to you.

  • @PicturaSonus You want me to kill myself and you are talking about how someone needs to change what is wrong...Hypocrite much? And the world would be a better place if there were no humans on the planet or if we just remained in tribes and didn't come together, grow, and form civilization.

  • @IloveMIT8923 I never said I WANTED you to kill yourself. What kind of a person would I be if I WANTED you to kill yourself. All I said was that if you have that kind of an attitude towards life, then what's the point? And by "make a change" I meant make a change in yourself, not in the world around you.

"the world would be a better place if there were no humans on the planet or if we just remained in tribes". Classic social solitary confinement. Liberate your mind, bro.

  • @PicturaSonus We did liberate our minds, our scientists were like, "Hey, let's build a bomb" "A small bomb?" "No, an overly destructive, super-powerful bomb" "Won't that have consequences?" "Hey, be more liberal!" Plus, saying I should kill myself is a horrible way to get someone to change. And I don't need to make a change in myself, I am a misanthrope and I like it and I hate the world.

  • @IloveMIT8923 That's cool, man, then don't take my advice. We are literally polar opposites! lol.

Remind me never to go to MIT hahaha

  • @PicturaSonus A lot of people at MIT think opposite of me, I am fascist, they a liberal democratic.

  • Please, Science, let there be WW III, I do not care if I burn in atomic fire, I just want to clean this Earth so that it can start over again!

  • @IloveMIT8923

But think of the innocent blood spilt for what? to start the murder all over again? but it's a matter of opinion really

  • @god0bless0the0uk But today's world/society taints our innocent's blood every single day turning good people into wanna-be gangsters who try to do their least for society through social discourse, degraded media mediums, and corrupt entertainment. Would it be better to die as an innocent person or live your life as a monster? If you believe in the Bible, you will know of the story where God floods the Earth that kills everyone except for a handful of people to restart the Earth.

  • @god0bless0the0uk God flooded the Earth with water, Human will flood it with atomic fire.

  • @IloveMIT8923

True, but what about the innocent? is there nothing we can do? is there a Noaha out that that will lead the innocent on a metal ark, and lead them to safty? only time will tell.

  • @god0bless0the0uk Nuclear war WILL happen; it is simply Kim Jong Il, Barack Obama, Putin, and the EU all armed with pistols and locked all together in a tight closet, sooner or later, someone will start shooting. I would like to be the good guys, hopefully if I get in the National Guard I will be prepared for WW III but the world will not cooperate to survive wtih me in the post-apocalyptic world; as part of preparation, I am going to learn all of the symptoms of a cannibal.

  • @IloveMIT8923

Well, good luck with your career choice and if i ever see you in the post - Apocalyptic world then do not raid, eat or kill me. many thanks.

  • @god0bless0the0uk If we meet, the password we will greet each other with will be "Are you carrying the Light?", that phrase will let each other know that we met on YouTube

  • @IloveMIT8923

    Of course, of course.

  • @god0bless0the0uk T'was a joke...

  • @IloveMIT8923

Yes, thats why i didnt reply with as much enthusiasm.

  • @god0bless0the0uk ...I am going to eat you

  • @IloveMIT8923

    ....Ok....I understand....

  • :O just amazin...

  • Yeah, the bible thing i think was more of a deeper metaphor....so, who gives a fuck about that whole debate- we can go on forever about religion- mila kunis was what ruined it for me. Yeah she looks alright, but jesus, what a fuckin dumb cunt shitty actress. other than that, 5 stars without a doubt!!!

  • slashlead

You looking that way man, I'm not, but this movie show that when you want something you need to fight for that thing , when you fall you have to wake up, only doing this you'll be sucess, no matter what,..

Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies "The Shawshank Redemption"

  • THIS MOVIE IS VERY MOVING IT SHOWS THAT WITHOUT THE WORD OF GOD!!!! WE ARE ALL HOPELESS. WITH IT WE TEACH A BETTER WAY OF LIVING THOUGH THERE WILL ALWAYS BE OPPOSING SIDES THE BOOK IS KEY TO HUMANITY.

  • The movie was the creation of a genius.

  • shitty movie, sucks balls

  • This movie was VERY well done. I imagine the initial idea was a prophet on a great quest across the known world. Only, instead of taking place in ancient Asia and Europe, it instead took place in a post-apocalyptic world.

If you ask me, it was a genius idea. It's just too bad people can't seem to tolerate any shape or form of Christianity.

But, however the public received it, it's still getting a special place on my shelf. And I'm happy with that.

  • Ive got the same gas mask :)

  • best "Fallout" movie of the last 10 years.

( Mad Max came earlier )

  • @rizer80 you must understand...This is not about end-of-the-world picture...

  • @MrMarshall747 for me it "is" a picture about end of the (current atomic/digital ) world.

A picture about a grim dusty desperate sun burnt world. And i loved it.

  • @jadahselah The world leading a rebellion against God is just as ridiculous as your own hand having a mind of it's own and trying to strangle you. These silly ideas can only exist if you chop reality into pieces, put god in a box and think some silly story around it... exactly what most of religion does.

  • @TukenNuken And clearly you have a profound lack of cultivation when it comes to religion, because that is not what most of religion does. Did you know 70% of the world is either Catholic or Christian? And we do not in anyway, do that or believe in anything such as that. I'd perhaps get your facts straight before making ignorant accusations toward religion. It's funny how athiests bash ones beliefs or blame religion all the time, it's mainly muslims they cause violence for no reason anyway.

  • @TheTrueUSPatriot may this be a blessed reply, to put it straight here Christians worship Jesus and call him son of god which implies that they believe that god relies on his son and that he is in need of him which makes god unworthy of worship for the creator needs none and everything which came into creation is according to gods will for you whom suffer from blind faith also believe that god resides in the heavens which also makes god unworthy of worshiping for the heavens are a creation ,TBC.

  • @TheTrueUSPatriot TBS=to be continued so the Christians because of there lack of intellect went to the world and implemented there big lie just like the Jews did for they wanted Jesus to be a divinity and went on and reshaped the holy bible to make it unholy they used symbolism as a way to capture the weak hearten and blinded they became, then they fought the pagans whom which they are not very different from and established a new empire, now according to slam Jesus was a Muslim TBC

  • @TheTrueUSPatriot i hope you will come to understand why we the Muslims fought people such as you. and i also study physics.

  • @TukenNuken Buddhism is one of the most peaceful religions of all. So is christianity, the only reason why we even went on crusades was to allow pilgrims to freely visit the holy lands, so in other words, it was fighting for freedom. Not "oh hey our religion is better, we're gonna kill you now" a lot of that is just arrogant and adolescent nonsense. It's funny too I'm a physics major and I still believe in the lord, I hate when people stereotype that scientists dont believe in religion too.

  • @TheTrueUSPatriot Fight for freedom? Now that's bullshit. Fight for freedom means you're fighting against someone who's trying to take your lands and enslave you. The Crusades were the very opposite of that. And where did I ever make an accusation against religion? I don't remember doing that...

Talk about getting your facts straight, only 33% of the world is Christian. And what do atheists have anything to do with this? You know, for a physics major you're really not all that bright.

  • @TukenNuken according to Islam this world that we live in must have had a creator which every sane person should accept but our creator needs none of his creations and since the dimensions of space are a creation god does not exist within these dimensions and since time is a creation time does not pass on god and god resembles none of his creations he is not outside our world and not within it and connection and disconnection are a mark of the creations so you see why we would die for islam.

  • @baaroodii Nope, I don't see why anyone would die for islam. A lot of people these days do seem to be dieing Because of islam though.

I somehow suspect our definitions for "sanity" are worlds apart. You are totally free however to go die for your religion... I have better things to do.

  • @TukenNuken strangely though my comments where to @TheTrueUSPatriot not you but since i mistakenly sent you the comment you will not have understood the whole story read my other comments to understand my stand a compare and contrast between the Islam and christian faith , and my definition for sanity is what applies truthfully towards nature and the decisions which apply with the soundness, rationality and healthiness of the human mind.

  • and still there's one definition for sanity look it up in Google.

  • @baaroodii Well, that would take too much of my time... I really doubt it says anything about a "creator" anyway... Even if it does, that's not my definition.

  • in my eyes god created men as warriors (me being a man) because compared to women men are faster stronger and have a bigger body structure (im not saying for religion or im not trying to say that boys are better than girls)

  • @lizzerdguy It could equally be argued that in most species evolved for one gender in particular to be the breeder and the other to protect and hunt. In humans, men generally are bigger and more muscular while women have higher pain tolerance and are naturally more nurturing and empathetic. While in other species such as arachnids, it is the male who is the breeder, in a sense, all the male does is breed then die, while the female is bigger, stronger and is the hunter.

  • @mcmoneyhousen They dont have a higher pain tolerance actually, but they do have more flexibility.

  • I never heard anyone speak about the killings ,,in His name/for His cause,, .

Or about the part when Denzel didn`t intervene when the ,,man and woman with shopping cart ,, got killed , cause he abided by God`s law .

Guess when you use ``moving pictures`` people are more willing to accept facts as they are .

    Peculiar , eyh ?

  • I like this movie a lot... it's entertaining as well as having action in it. I kind of knew it was The Holy Bible (the book), because he quoted often the famous lines from it...

  • LOL. Everyone seems to be talking about how Christian this movie is, but it seems a lot of people miss the second twist of the film -- Eli is Muslim. Christian viewers don't seem to catch all of the clues that point to it, and therefore I think many of them don't get that second brilliant twist of the movie. Google it. I promise you, Eli is a Muslim.

  • I'm sorry, but if he was actually blind during the movie, not just at the end, then that is absolutely retarded, and killed it for me. Personally, I think when God told him where the book is, he also restored his vision so that he could carry out his quest.

  • @CaptainAmerica322

Yea thats what i think also, but it does also have the point of view that he was blind the whole movie.

  • @1ownjoo2 lol at "point of view" then "blind" haha

  • this movie captures the darkside of humanity its pretty scary

  • this film is so awesome so well done! the actors, the story, the soundtrack, the scenario everything! Very beautiful film!

  • you know what i think is sad, the ONLY reason why this movie didnt get 5 stars is because it pointed towrd god and his scripture of the bible. anybody agree with me?

  • @LAxICEYxUNO people blind themselves from cool shit to much because of their own issues. For instance pete townshend. Awesome guitarist, great music. Sure he did get caught with a bunch of child porn and I look down on him for that but no reason not to enjoy pinball wizard and baba oriely.

  • @LAxICEYxUNO im suprised it didnt get boycotted

  • @LAxICEYxUNO this movie is amazing, 1 of my top 5 favorites.

  • @LAxICEYxUNO You are right...because it has some idea and it is not pointless like the other movies...this is one of the best movies i have ever seen...

  • @LAxICEYxUNO i think you're paranoid

  • @LAxICEYxUNO agreed, lets not forget who owns holliwood(jews) nothing against them but it seems they have something against us... its a shame cuz we both believe in one god, the same god. its our pride that keeps us from any real progress.

  • @terrypaps13 I could not agree more.

  • @LAxICEYxUNO God Bless You

  • @LAxICEYxUNO You're right. There is no such thing as God though so it was probably for the best.

  • @LAxICEYxUNO

Yeah it defs was ruined for me with the religious tones.

I for one would love a world without Christianity.

  • @Zacq768 yea and im sure your only perception of christianity is what you have seen in hollywood movies

  • @1989clh

Oh you're sure about that are you?

So i guess the countless amounts of sundays wasted as a child sitting in Sunday School listening to the same shit every week about Jesus didnt do it... nah

Or maybe it was the fact that Christians have ruined so much for the human race over history?.. nah.. cant be it..

OR maybe its the fact that they all think their lives are fucking great because a book said so, so im constantly reminded how dumb they all are daily.

  • @Zacq768 oh so where did you get the information from that christians have ruined everything im guessing from a history BOOK oh you see what i just did there so people choose to believe in something you dont that makes them dumb yeah thats the pot calling the kettle black

  • @1989clh

You see except my BOOK was written by many HISTORIANS with FACTS, SOURCES and DATES to prove that christians did those things.

All you have is a bunch of stories from a bunch of different men all writing about their encounters with jesus over a period of years.

Dark ages, you ever hear of them? super massive decline in science progress because it was considered heresy?

  • @Zacq768 if you think thats all the bible is about then you clearly havent read it enough regardless of what you believe its completely IGNORANT and im sure nobody else will tell you other wise that you have no authority to label someone else dumb for embracing religion and to your question about the dark ages yes i have heard of them cause unlike you i read any kind of book even if its religious

  • @1989clh

You are a cliche religious dumbass, and your last post just did it for me.

I regret wasting my time trying to argue with you, or anyone else like you. Thanks for showing me the light.

  • @Zacq768 ok thats your opinion but if it was a true i would have said something like god have mercy on your soul or your going to hell but i didnt see i dont form opinions i just state facts oh and look very closely i didnt say i was religious at all did i no i did not im just smart enough to embrace all ideas and beliefs but i dont expect close minded people like you to understand so the time wasted was definitley on my behalf good day sir

  • @LAxICEYxUNO i think people are reading my comment wrong, i was saying in this world movies cant get 5 stars if it has christianity in it and i think that is sad. I believen jesus and im a christian. and if i get thumbs down for this comment for what i sad that is sad to.

  • @LAxICEYxUNO I think its sadder if we cant give it 5 stars for being a good movie and the christianity in it is just an incidental and interesting aspect of the story.

  • @LAxICEYxUNO

You haven't seen the shawshank redemption, haven't you?

  • @LAxICEYxUNO iam not christian but i do think that this movie should have been way higher rated, theres a line between basing history on religin alone and making just a plain beautiful movie, people can't tell the f'n difference

  • @LAxICEYxUNO well maybe it could be because christianity has caused more wars, more injustice, more suffering, and more unrighteousness than any other idea ever even thought of.

  • @LAxICEYxUNO Yea i don't think is so much the religous factor in it ..its more like hope or sumthing to beleve in

  • @heelok1 Eli was in the Bible, so it might be about Religion; but I could be wrong.

Movies are art, and everyone sees art differently.

  • @Stephie49601 yes yes thats very true.

  • @LAxICEYxUNO Pray for some proper spelling and grammar

  • @LAxICEYxUNO

Stay for what you believe in.

And no, i dont believe at Jesus, i'm a satanist.

  • @LAxICEYxUNO omg thats the only reason the movie kinda turned me off but damn it was a good post apocaliptic movie tho

  • TukenNuken, it seems to me like you have some bitterness towards the Christian religion. I mean, personally, if it was ANY significant text, I would have still liked the movie. Also, if it WASN'T a religious book, who would be "telling" Eli to go West? That was the point of it being a religious book. Lastly, the book didn't symbolize the saving of the world. All it did was end up on a shelf next to an assortment of other important historical texts and documents. Do you have a facebook?

  • @legolas5743 Agree with all that! Except it's to keep history, because when the fallout does happen we need to remember why we're all here

  • @legolas5743 Or course it signify the book would save the world. Listen to Gary oldman's Dialogue with Eli when he tries to take the book. It ends up next to another book, yes, but thats only beginning of the change to come. It symbolizes that without God in man life we are destine for destruction. The entire movie would be a waste if it didnt have a point. Come on man

  • @legolas5743 well, you're wrong about the book not symbolizing the saving of the world. No book, nothing for Eli to read and memorize; therefore it did symbolize "the saving of the world". The book was a key, a password so to say. Eli memorized it and kept it safe to save others. Guess you missed the part where it was being mass produced, people wanted to reintroduce it to the world; and if it was being mass produced it was going to be shown and spoken as far as anyone could go and teach it.

  • @legolas5743 Check this out: marshill.com/media/cinemagogue/the-book-of-eli

It gives some interesting insights into the storyline and the man who directed and write Book of Eli

  • The Two Cents Show just posted their movie review of "The Book of Eli". YouTube search for The Two Cents Show. Its currently our featured video. If you like it check out our other videos and subscribe to us. We also have a facebook page! Thanks!

  • You could basically say this is the movie for the Fallout series lol....just without the radiated creatures....on that note Fallout would make a great movie

  • @SWATforce1 I been thinking that since the fist fallout game :D

  • ...the things that saved it were the amazing soundtrack, action, atmosphere, characters and I also liked the relationship between Eli and that girl(Mila)...so basically I liked everything except the Bible...

  • this movie has the most amazing and brain shocking twist at the end. i loved it, denzel washington was great in this movie, so was everyone else

  • when eli and the girl meet the old man and the old woman.....their put a song in the radio...?(woman sing)....¿¿what the name of that song??

  • @notngoname LOL that scene was funny cause I didn't expect that song to come on but its called "Ring My Bell" by Anita Ward

  • TukenNuken... why would that have annoyed you about the bible being the book? that's extremely close-minded and possibly stereotypical of you...

  • @legolas5743 Probably because every sacred book to saving something of any story or tale, is a bible. Its never something like an ancient race, involving some nice fantasy.(<---Example)

  • @legolas5743 The book Eli was carrying was supposed to save the world... It would have been fine if it was just something Eli believed in, but to me it seemed that the guys who made the movie actually believed that the bible was going to save the world...and that was the message of the movie(or at least a big part of it). That almost ruined the movie for me...

The Bible is going to save the world? That's total BS

  • @TukenNuken Well im not sure, but i dont look at it that way, think about the ending, the rewritten bible is published and one of 'em is put in a bookshelf in alcatraz itself, its not like they made such a big deal out of it its not like the einstein looking guy jizzed himself when he heard eli had a bible in his possesion, and no book on earth can save a devastated world, but a book like the bible can teach survivors lessons to the people who read it, in a world of destuction, that means somthin

  • @Jos4lifer Well...I guess your right. In a world like that, the Bible would do more good than bad(maybe...can't be totally sure...remember the torturing\killing of "heathens" ). But it's definitely not the best book(not by a long shot) that could bring more peace to the world.

  • @TukenNuken i think the bible was just a small piece in preserving the "knowledge" of the world. I think using the bible was a plot device to serve the idea that people will try to preserve what was lost through any means.

Preserve water. tell very few ppl the resource. preserve corruption and control. the the bible in those ways. preserve history and knowledge. create a mecca for it in (ironically) san fransico. preserve faith. eli's journey west. not like he can go out and get a good post nuke

  • @MarcSylex I wasn't really saying that my interpretation of the movie was the only true one(I didn't really think all too deeply into it). I mostly just described the feeling I got from the movie.

  • i completely agree with you

  • @TukenNuken It's a movie....

  • @softie2 no shit?... how long did it take you to figure that out?

  • @TukenNuken The fact that you're getting serious over a movie saying "the bible is going to save the world"

  • @softie2 What about it? I still don't get what you're saying...

  • what really got me about this film. was when eli got shot, and he was struggling to get up and he looked up at carniegie. Really gets to me.

  • HE WAS BLIND ELI WAS BLIND WHICH SHOCKED ME

  • Comment removed

  • @frightenedanconfused And a Pip Boy!

  • The Book of Eli was AWESOME. That's all I can say. :)

  • it was predictable. i could feel from the beginning that for some reason he was gonna be the only guy who could read it, whether it be a different language or what and the whole movie was like a huge christian recruitment video. i love denzel but i wish he wuld steer clear of the mel gibson-esque movies.

  • EVERY PICTURE OF THIS FANTASTIC MOVIE COULD BE...ONE OF THE BEST DESKTOP WALLPAPERS EVER !! :)

  • Denzel Washington is the best !

  • @frightenedanconfused LOL. Almost wish it was a Fallout 3 movie.

  • @ShadowofAlcatraz i was watching a movie a trailer for cowboys and aliens came on but i didnt know it was untill it was over but at the beginning it shows a man that wakes up and has a thing on his arm i flipped out on my friend saying it was fallout but it wasnt lol

  • @ShadowofAlcatraz But this guy looks A LOT with Lucas Sims from Megaton

  • @frightenedanconfused Bahahaha, fallout reference ftw

  • what kind of music is this?.....sounds like underground style of music? :)

  • To this complaining about his blindness, here's my justification: there are varying degrees of blindness and they never confirm which one. So as far as we know he actually can see but everything he sees is just a blur vaguely representing what they're supposed to be. This would still require him to read braille but he could still technically see his surroundings to capture food and what-not.

  • i never even figured out he was blind till i read these comments

  • @catlbm2334 Really? oh... in the movie they zoom in on his eyes to show you that hes blind..

  • @4Melbu4

Yeah, they zoom in at the end of the movie; but all during the film, there were times the camera was up close and you could see his eyes CLEARLY; and there was never any indication he was blind, or anything that appeared to be wrong with his eyes. Still, I thought it was a great twist.

  • @MzTJones80 Dude youre wrong, watch the film again throughout the move he bumps into tables in the first house he enters, he kicks the step walking into the cannibals house, there is a lot of indication to the fact hes blind its just well hidden :)

  • @PineappleExpress15

I never said there was no indication he was blind as far as bumping into tables. My comment was regarding his EYES. It was revealed that he was blind at the END of the movie where they had a close-up of his eyes. That's when it became clear to viewers. However, throughout the movie, there were plenty of times where he appeared to be looking directly into the eyes of others, without any indication he was blind. That was my point.
