Hart disease is caused by the 80% of american food. not just cholesterol. think McDonald and GM crops. aspartame, hydrogenated oils, corn syrup, fluoride, hundreds more.
@pabloishere : Then why do people with cholesterol levels as low as 120 commonly die of heart attacks? Why do the French, who have higher cholesterol levels compared to other western nations, suffer from much less heart disease?
For those who deny elevated cholesterol plays a role in CAD, you're sticking your head in the sand. I was diagnosed with high cholesterol at age 23, for the next 23 years I ignored my Dr. and didn't take steps to lower it, last July 6Th, I needed to undergo angioplasty and stents due to a 90+ % blockage in my mid LAD artery (The Widowmaker). I couldn't walk 200ft without angina, I now run and walk 2 miles per day. Watch your cholesterol and take meds ONLY if needed.
The doctor in the video says that they are only two types of lipoproteins.... as i know there are 5 types of lipoproteins such as chylomicrons, VLDL, LDL, IDL and HDL... all of these lipoproteins contain a certain amount of cholesterol... just that the composition of cholesterol in HDL and LDL is high.. This doesn't mean that we have to ignore the other lipoproteins....
Hello, i wanted to tell everyone that i recently ordered Sterolyn. This product has been EXCELLENT and has reaped some impressive results for me. My LDL cholesterol is down 45%! I would definitely second that recommendation.
The plaque build behind the endothelium and is NOT deposited from the blood flowing through.
Once the plaque becomes unstable and ruptures the big event begins. Plaques are commonly found in neo-nate post-mortems but not in older infant post-mortems.
Cholesterol is a response to damage, and the plaque forms inside the wall not on the wall.
Herein lies the problem for cholesterol theory of heart disease. A bit like blaming the emergency services for causing blockages at road traffic accidents.
@Rayyan36 He probably means under the endothelial layer of the artery. The plaques do not form on top of the artery. Instead they enter the artery wall, across the endothelium, and accumulate there.
@glynwainwright Arteriosclerosis is when the mussel fibers of the tunica media inside of your blood vessels are replaced by calcium thus causing a build up 'inside' the wall; atherosclerosis is when plaques such as cholesterol build up on the tunica intima inside of the vessel wall thus creating a blockage. These emboli can then either block off the vessel entirely or break off to become lodged in another part of the body causing local hypoxia which can lead to a TIA, MI or stroke.
Ok)I would be worry if I had HDL 270.I almost sure, you're speaking about the TOTAL one.For woman it's normal to have HDL around 70-90,but 270 it's something extraordinary, though very well.
This video is so WRONG!! LDL cholesterol comes in seven subtypes. The small and dense type of LDL is most associated with coronary artery disease (CAD), but is often combined with low levels of HDL cholesterol, high VLDL (very low density lipoproteins or triglycerides), and insulin resistance (from consuming too much carbohydrate- ie Type II diabetes).
Also, cholesterol doesn't build up on the inner lining of the artery like shit in a sewer pipe. The small/dense LDL is able to be pushed below the inner lining (endothelium) and causes an inflammatory response from the body as it tries to repair the damage.
They keep mentioning the body functions, but most americans(and the reason america is stereotyped as a fat nation) don't perform these functions. People don't get fat from eating a steak and taking a jog.

There is a strong correlation between levels of cholestrol and CVD.
