  • Beautiful.

  • Way kewl and mahalo dinostrunk!shaka!

  • I'm re-discovering all these old hit song"s I used to listen to,and this is one of the fav's, check out the hollies--"he's my brother".

  • Increíble obra!... un tesoro de inspiración que narra un momento especial en la vida de cada uno de quienes puedan apreciar esta melodía. I agree with stetson172002

  • i just typed something random with my eyes closed and it came to this beautiful song

  • The song is great, but there could have been more winter time photos then just this one. I think I have some really cool photos of winter time, being I live in Montana just above Yellowstone 30 miles. I considered making a short video using my winter time photos. Did I mention I do photography professionally, and they are high quality images?

  • @cornuttpreston okay well why don't you just be an arrogant snob about how you take pictures for a living...fuck off

  • @phattykatzz

Okay well why don't you just go be a troll dick somewhere else? The guy's just trying to help. I'm sure he has great material in Montana.

  • @phattykatzz Anybody ever tell you you're an asshole? They should, and on a regular basis, with particular emphasis on the "hole". Go to bed, you fat, ugly child.

  • Long winter where I live this year, and you may have guessed ... more snow this week. But I know how to keep the winterbirds happy makes me happy too.

  • It's pretty cold there too, my poor baby. I've worn my Grandmother's wedding ring since my grandfather gave it to me after she died. Several days ago it was freezing & it must have slipped off. I have no idea where. So sad.

  • amen to being dumb-----i let one get away too

  • perfect song of the day, it's7 degrees here with ice and snow...

  • Great! Thanks!

  • always.. gives.. me.. CHILLS! (no pun intended)

  • This will alway be in my memory, because I was in 4th grade living in MN. My brother bought "Book of Dreams." I would put this song on an look out our window in January & wish I lived in Florida where my sister lived! (1977) What a year! ( That was the year I was looking out the window.)

  • Wintertime? I live in Arizona............It's always summertime here. I love this song though

  • this song is almost to short should be a 24 hour song xD oh and those 2 people that disliked you must have had ear muffs on i know its winter time but you missed it they were callin

  • would have loved a nice nature slide-show to this.

  • This song is exactly how I feel right now. It's cold. Brrrrr.

  • the absolute classic rock ballad of all time!!!

  • Two People did not hear me calling

  • one of my favorites

  • im like 21 an wish people made decent music like this, our generation but everysong just seems to as worse as the next one out , bloody shame!! Long live bowie, dylan, the zombies, eric clapton etc looll

  • @01thrilla

Not that easy, no one learns how to play an instrument anymore, that's why the music is what it is.

In the past people would sit and play guitarr 8-10 hours a day since they were kids, no wonder they made good music. Nowadays, everyone sits at their computer and play World of Warcraft.

  • I love the steve miller band . it brings back memories of sitting my then teenaged brothers lap while he sang to this song.....not only this song but others too and they definatly had a musical impression on me growing up. I still listen to thier music.

  • Deep!Strait to the vain.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • i really love the simplicity and uniqueness of this song

  • I spend a lot of time in calfornia in the 70s (i from australia) and thy where some of of the time of my life,, great cars great music,,,,,,,,1976 Anaheim statium Big A concerts wow

  • it feels so much better in the snow day when i listen to this song

, when i walking to school.

  • In India 10 years now-- no winters. No song could remind me like this one though. Big old jet airliner carried me far away.

  • this song is very similar to the "i giardini di marzo" - Lucio Battisti"

  • Great Steve Miller tune. He lived in Williams Oregon when he wrote and recorded this timeless tune, My brother delivered lumber to his home, to build his recording studio. When my bro, delivered that wood, the band was all passed out, kegs laying on their side..lol Steve gave my bro the combination to his gate, so he could fish his Bass stocked ponds. Love this guy!

  • Saw them at PNC Park (Pittsburgh) July 24th. Despite the rain and a typical Pirates game, they were great!

  • Snow chill!!! =)

  • Like!?! How about LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • can you just improve this?...is awesome....

  • I am only 31 and I remember when I was 14 listening to Fly like an Eagle. Probably the first song I really remember. That and my father's Wham! LP. This is outstanding!

  • Sweet memories, closed my eyes and I'm back in my '71 Charger cruising around town.

  • personally im only 17 but have been listening to steve miller all my life (thank you parents) and i love them and this song alot

  • I wish i was born around that time i just downloaded the song straight off this site right now and thats about it

  • listened to this in my 72 monte carlo 8-track........circa 1978...

    book of dreams

  • Great memories

  • for me one of the most beautiful songs ever. When I listen to it it gives me chills.(in a good way)

  • @iamther Listen to 'silver cloud' by the Doobies, while you're at it look up 'daughters of the sea', by the Doobies.

  • classic wonderful song

  • Never heard this and a good one too

  • υπέροχο

  • Steve Miller lived in Southern Oregon when he wrote this tune, I would imagine he spent alot of time in the surrounding mountains for inspiration. He is well loved here in Grants Pass Oregon!

  • Perfect song for today in PA. We're getting a Nor Easter.

  • in reply to notwaiting- totally! i love this song yet somehow it always makes me feel like crying inside. its beautiful though.

  • i dont think people underrate him my grandma and such love him. :]

  • Steve Miller = most underrated rock singer in history.

  • @jkoff76 Steve Miller makes me think of CCR. They will around for Milena!

  • uykumu getirdi mına koyim şarkı ama güzel yinede

  • Isn't it amazing how certain songs conjur up all the memories from when you first heard them and how they can make our senses see, hear, smell and almost feel like it was during that time?

I read stetson's comment and my mind went back to the cars, the music and the people.

    Thanks for posting!

  • Wow! Talking about old memories! I remember this album, well 8 track. The first time I heard this was after I bought the 8 track from c.m.c. stereo center in St. Louis. Oh my, listing to it in My 68 Chevelle SS in the 70"s. I miss that time in life, the music, the car, and the sweet girl I should have married. But I was young and dumb.

  • @stetson172002

that comment that u ve written.. it took me away.. i dont know.. maybe just because imma lil bit drunk at the moment but.. wow

  • @stetson172002

Glad to see I wasnt the only young and dumb one

  • @stetson172002 or 67 SS Camaro (-:

  • @stetson172002 Yep mine was a 69 Chevelle. I still want to kill the guy that invented 8 tracks. Tape eating #@^&&&### I wish this song was a full album just one song and loop it. It was fun being dumb.

  • @BigCookinCajun LOL..I MISS being able to be dumb!

  • @stetson172002 Yup- my girlfriend bought me a good sound system for my mercury Comet back then and we cruised so much listening to Steve Miller. I can pretty much remember exactly where I was when I bought each album or tape. We spent many a passionate night in that car with the best music ever being played. We did go on to marry and had 3 kids and I can close my eyes and see how great she looked in the passenger seat!

  • @stetson172002 NICE STORY THOSE WERE THE DAYS

  • @stetson172002 my step dad said about the same thing except he bought the 8 track in canada i wish rock and roll wasn't dieing through my generation, sorry guys

  • @stetson172002 I feel you bud, I feel you!

  • @stetson172002 thanks for sharing that little part in ur life, i enjoyed reading it

  • @stetson172002 wow, I'm guessing you didn't expect to get such a reaction from your post. It looks like quite a few people responded to your post. But it is cool to read about how music effects different people. I looked up Steve Miller because I was watching a movie called "Cyrus" and they referenced Steve Miller and I was unfamiliar with the music. I read your post because it had tons of "thumbs up" and it made me reflect on music that I find impressionable on my life... interesting.

  • @stetson172002 we al have those strories and the girl we should of married too

  • FRIGGIN' LOVE IT...

  • steve guitar miller awesome song great sitar and harmonica work!!!!!!!

  • Pretty sure that's a Coral and not a Sitar.

  • sweet song

totally written with california dreamin in mind.

"in the wintertime, and all the leaves are brown"

  • This song is genius. No comparison.

  • I agree!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wish this would have been one of those 10-12 minute songs, too short.

  • totally

  • @BigCookinCajun God now if it would have been any longer he would have ruined it it . This is a masterpiece . So many songs are drawn out for no reason and everyone turns em off cause they get old like Stairway. Thats why Greenday was so good they had not one song over 4 minutes. Its like after the chorus plays 3 times WE GET IT!

  • @stoolet that's not completly true

that's the point if bands get repeating after 2 choruses

but e.g pink floyd always can stretch a song and make it sound so full

  • @BigCookinCajun - agreed. this should have been Rush-long :)

  • 2:09 great work

  • great song. Im a trance lover and in the begining it sounds like trance

  • Does anybody have "Love's Riddle" ?

That's even more beautiful than this song, so if anyone has it - please, please post it here :-)

  • badass thank you.

  • seeing him live in two weeks and u cant even imagine how excited i am

  • The most ridiculously great song EVER!!!!!!

  • Chris Bessler. Still miss you!

  • This song can make me feel cold even on a hot summer day. Love it.

  • nvm got it.

  • What kinda of harmonica is he using!?!??!?! C? idk!?

  • this song almost makes me cry when i listen to it

  • Oh Oh, you sound like me. Glad I'm not the only one!

  • it remind me of a friend named nikki lowen shrs always threre for me until shr met sean and ben

  • this song remind me when i went to alberta we listened to it all the time

  • touching song

  • Been playing it on guitar since I was a kid. Never get sick of it. Great little tune.

  • I had a friend fall into a pit of opiate addiction from one little prescription to death. In the end he left behind 3 young children who may never really remember their father? He was loved much by his other 2 brothers before he went into withdrawl and robbed a pharmacy only to overdose purposely and die 5 hours later in 2001. Ashley was more than just a prescription pill junky. He tried his best at fatherhood. He loved his 3 kids. He also loved the Steve Miller Band and this song. "Caving"

  • EVeryone seems to say that this song is in Am, but when i learned it on bass i played along in standard tuning and it was in A#m

  • There is a capo on 1.

  • Nice to play on guitar.

  • Totally agree this song makes you remember lost loved ones so much my father used to listen

  • This song has a lot emotiom in it for me. It remainds me of my brother whom died in Dec 1984. We loved SM. Peace!

  • Hi Wolf, Sorry it reminds you of your father, but there is another way to look at it. He probably had more character & integrity in his little pinky finger than most people will ever posses in a lifetime. At least a song really reminds you of him....My Father absolutely loved mother...........Check out Paul Williams...."that's enough for me" I'm 29, You may not have heard of Paul Williams, but he is GREAT!

  • I always cry when I hear this osng. Don't know why. Maybe because it reminds me so much of my dad and when I was little...

  • one of the most haunting and romantic songs ever, simple and elegant. love it as much now as i did as a little kid listening to my parent's vinyl.

  • safws nai

  • apla teleio :-o

  • k poli idiaitero..

  • So beutiful song relex and amazzzz

  • Sounds very similar to California Dreamin' ; wonder if there's ever been any beef over copyright issues?

  • Gorgeous and haunting song. Takes me back to simpler times.

  • i totly agree, the song makes you think... doesnt it?

  • I was looking for this song as an idiot, which's the album that this track belongs?

  • a book of dreams

  • I luv this song go STEVE MILLER BAND!!!!!

  • You're suggesting that I "might be a pussy," yet you're using expressions like "yo". Not only do they share Am, they also share the same chord progression (Am, G, F). I always thought though that All along the watch-tower was in Em ( the chord changes being of course Em, D, C, which are the same intervels). Either way, this is clearly a rip off, and you are deaf for not hearing the intervels and uncool for trying to be hip by saying "yo"

  • First of all, Am is a popular key to play in, it was the first one I learned, and probobally most other people learned

Also I f you think this is a rip off of stairway to heaven, listen to "Taurus" by Spirit (LZ backing band is 1968) and "Cry Me a River" by Davy Graham from the 50s or early 60s

Musicians borrow other artists ideas and play off of them, and its a very big stretch to say the solo is a rip off of stairway to heaven and AATWT

  • So Right.

  • harmonica is good for a winter song!

  • crisp and clean.. has that sharp feel that winter give you

  • great song. reminds me of when I as 15

  • what a fantastic contribution this COULD have been. shoulda been a moutian top video or at least a long series of smooth cold pictures. try again

  • If you like pictures watch "Serenade from the Stars" posted by soytuono

  • It's an alright song but the guitar solo part is just a direct rip-off of All along the watchtower/Stairway to heaven.

  • hmmm all along the watchtower is a cover also, it was originally bob dylan, also loads of songs use an Am and a pentatonic

  • just sitting here with the girl of my dreams and shes never heard this song before. Now Steve Miller has a new fan for life.

  • HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS SONG IS

  • Beautiful song and very nice pic.
