the secret menu is at most fast food places where teenagers work although the flavor combo's are probably more bizarre than appetizing. Don't fret tho, I'm sure you've tasted it and probably didn't even know it :D
I was a trainer when trainers still existed in the company. You, sir, do not know what you are talking about. INO prides itself on its productivity and living up to its name by getting people in and out of the store. It would be counter-productive for us to not tell newbies everything there is to know. In fact, it is highly frustrating as a "veteran" when new hires take orders incorrectly. If a new hire did not know all that was on the menu, how would they navigate the POS & run orders through?
@dncnqn I wish stores still had trainers...So many new hires can't do their jobs any more, no one knows how to man up and jam. I'm from a fairly slow store and we do so much training its absurd, but it's pointless because they still don't get trained to work hard. People just move up by hours now. It took so long to get my cooking raise, because you had to be able to handle a rush by yourself and not get snowed..now if you get snowed you just ask someone to help you..So frustrating.
@janicethemenace I'm with you...I worked my butt off for my cooking raise. I watched so many of the boys I trained on board get their raises and training before I did. The only thing i can say about them paying attention to hours now is that it got them to realize that I wasn't crazy wanting my raise; I was long overdue by thousands of hours hahaha oh well
every loser knows about animal fries and the easy stuff. but my friend has been working at in n out for 8 years and he has told me there are over 100 different items of the secret menu (still some he doesnt even know about yet). hes only told me about 15 of them and they are awesome. they only tell the veteran workers of in n out all of the secret menu. hes told me you need to be working there for at least 20 years before you are told the entire secret menu.
@ihmen wow...do you really have a friend who works for the company? I highly doubt it. The "secret menu" isn't really a secret. If you ask an associate (and I actually am one), about different things that aren't on the regular menu, they will tell you. Most of the things are just variations on the regular menu. The only things that have specific names are animal and protein style. What kind of company would INO be if they didn't teach associates everything about the company on the first day?
@dncnqn they dont tell the rookies the entire secret menu at first. they need to be working there for at least 3 years before they start getting told secret items. on the rare occasion when a customer orders a secret item and the rookie doesnt know what it is, thats when a manager or veteran worker takes over and takes the order. most of the workers dont even know how large the secret menu really is, how long have you been working there?
@ihmen Your friend is effing with you. Unless he's taking into the account different combinations of the different ingredients that INO has, there really is only a handful of "special" things.
There's only one in-n-out where I live right now, it's like a 8 mile drive but I don't mind, I've never had a bad meal there. If the worst thing I can complain about is that the bathroom automatic faucet is a little tricky, that's a really good restaurant.
Road kill was a style of animal frys where a associate would chop a patty and put it on a animal fry. after gaining small popularity INO quickly ban it from being sold or done
its all talk trust me i work at ino animal fries r real protein style is when u substitue lettuce instead of bun animal style has lettuce, tomato, spread, pickle , fried mustard cooked into the patty and ugrilled onion u can go as big as a 4x6 cant do big ones anymore we also have neoploitan shakes( all 3 flavors) the company just keeps things traditional theres really nothing else hope this helped
there is no such thing as monkey style or road kill. that maxim magazine was lying. i work for in n out, and if you ask for that we will look at you like you are crazy. haha
I have a few of the secret menu items here, Animal Style-Mustard cooked beef patty, extra pickles, extra sause with grilled onions, The Flying Dutchman-Two patties, two slices of chesse,no lettuce,No onions,No bun. Monkey Style-Animal style burger, French fries on top. Road Kill-Animal style fries with chopped patty, ketchup. Grilled Chesse- Chesse burger without the "burger"
Im heading to San Diego soon and my girl gets food off the "secret menu". This will be my first time going to In n Out. Whats something super secret that I could order?
