I beg to differ. Slow songs are easier, especially for david. Even though it's hard to cover up the mistakes if you sing a slow song... Fast song is HARD. Like it's hard because of the breath control and diction. Trust me.. slow songs are so much easier if you have a good voice. Fast songs are VERY DIFFICULT.

I don't even remember America... At all. However, Sweet Caroline and You're the Voice I do remember. They were... decent, at best. It showed that he was only good in one genre. He was struggling in both of them. You can tell by the sound of him singing them. Stand By Me was a good performance, but I would hardly call it a mid-tempo song. Also, the reason the argument comes up so much, is because it's thought by a lot of people. Meaning it's a flaw. I don't think he'd go anywhere with a contract.
He wasn't amazing. That's the thing. That's my argument. He was decent. People seem to think he's some little singing god, when he's "decent". Not amazing, not spectacular, not even great, he was okay. Mid-tempo songs are something he can't do properly. And you cannot argue that he's proven to do up-temp songs when he's never done them. Mid-tempo, sure, but they weren't that great. Up-tempo, he's never done. And not everyone sings better doing ballads, that's a rather ignorant statement.

David Archuleta is a very nice singer but the American Idol needs to be so much more. Someone who can handle the music industry. He's just a kid with potential. We all know who the winner will be.. David Cook of course.

slow songs are harder than fast songs. fast songs can cover up mistakes and hide weak voices. slow songs exposes the voice. david archuleta has a really good voice and it shows.

I beg to differ. Slow songs are easier, especially for david. Even though it's hard to cover up the mistakes if you sing a slow song... Fast song is HARD. Like it's hard because of the breath control and diction. Trust me.. slow songs are so much easier if you have a good voice. Fast songs are VERY DIFFICULT.

Archie has no personality--I actually prefer Jason Castro, flaws and all-at least his version of "Forever in Blue Jeans" had some character. This guy sounds like something from the movie AI. His debut will sell fine, then they'll do what they did to Clay Aiken, make him abandon singing style and force him to record uptempto pop trash by the likes of Diane Warren--look for him to join the 2010 Summer tour of Grease.

I don't even remember America... At all. However, Sweet Caroline and You're the Voice I do remember. They were... decent, at best. It showed that he was only good in one genre. He was struggling in both of them. You can tell by the sound of him singing them. Stand By Me was a good performance, but I would hardly call it a mid-tempo song. Also, the reason the argument comes up so much, is because it's thought by a lot of people. Meaning it's a flaw. I don't think he'd go anywhere with a contract.

He wasn't amazing. That's the thing. That's my argument. He was decent. People seem to think he's some little singing god, when he's "decent". Not amazing, not spectacular, not even great, he was okay. Mid-tempo songs are something he can't do properly. And you cannot argue that he's proven to do up-temp songs when he's never done them. Mid-tempo, sure, but they weren't that great. Up-tempo, he's never done. And not everyone sings better doing ballads, that's a rather ignorant statement.
