  • worst theme ever!!

  • Sestru ti jebem u picku :@

  • can i edit call of duty with this

  • That's one good accent :)

  • Thanks for the tutorial, although i would not recommend pitivi over kdenlive!

  • I ddnt understand how :/

  • Salaam 'alaikum brother!

How long would it take to RENDER a video with PiTiVi? I some simple edits (cut about 20 points from an ogv) and when I hit render, even after 3 hours, it's not finished. It says EIGHT hours to finish. Is this normal or is it some problem. BTW, I'm using Ubuntu 10.10

  • this editor is absoulute crap!!!!!

  • What is the theme you are using?

  • @VikingNightmare oversword

  • can this work on mac?

  • @rimAbasnA this runs on linux

  • what is the best format for HD videos in youtube?

  • @William864 xvid/h264 in mkv container.

  • @Tru3m0sl3m ok, but is that FFmpeg mkv or the plain mkv muxer? what about audio?

  • Respond to this video...i think maybe ogg theora with flac is better?

    i am trying it

  • @William864 flac or vorbis audio in ogm/ogv container is fine with theora as the video codec.

  • Pitivi sucks. It isn't evolving, it's useless, you can't output every codec, quality is awful, and the exported video is lagging or hasn't sound... Choose ANY else but not PiTiVi...

  • which one is better video editor? kdenlive or pitivi?

  • @Latvian4ever kden live is way better

  • @iSrosh128 I have had issues of delay in rendering with PiTiVi. But How is iKdenlive better? Is it easier? faster? smaller code?

  • @marhaonline kdenlive is easy to use it crashes but its probably my computer and im not sure about the code?

  • @iSrosh128 Finally, I got something going. PiTiVi is DEFINITELY easy out of the many I've tried so far. The problem is that I cannot RENDER my file. It takes like about 4 hours and not even half is done.

Finally, I tried LiVES. Honestly, I don't like it because of the difficult interface. Ok, it's difficult for me :)

Still for all, it did the job in about 30 minutes. The quality is SIMPLY TERRIBLE! I don't have much of a choice here but it still does the job.

  • how do you do the first title "tru3m0sl3m" ? what video editor do you use ?

  • I like your video

But one problem I'm having is that if I grab a few videos from my camera, add them, and put them on the timeline (easy enough) and then render project, it doesn't work in youtube unless you have intimate knowledge of the file structure

I realize it's good for file conversions but for who? .01% of people?

I think it's really cool that ubuntu has a preinstalled video editor. But if a typical user can't get it to render to show in youtube, something's wrong

    Food for thought

  • That background is Epic.

  • what is the program to record your screen

  • Where did you get that desktop theme? I like it!

  • @autiger621 i think i've reviewed this theme in one of my videos

  • wat?

  • One year and still no effects or transitions? :(

  • wa alakum esalam : )

  • i was earlier thinkin about switchin to "cinelerra"......... you made me change my decision :D

  • you are with ubuntu ? How to download that style/theme for it ?

And I have one question .

Can u play dota on ubuntu ?

  • Which app do you use to actually edit videos?

  • Nice video, thanks alot.

  • where did you download the varius codec for pitivi?

i'n my program the are only same codec, the version is the same :\

  • @ostage install all codecs from ubuntu repository

  • @Tru3m0sl3m mhh

what pitivi settings you use for render youtube hd videos?

  • what program i should use to make effects for videos in ubuntu ?

  • Very cool video! I'm trying to use pitivi for a really basic video edit from my phone... just having trouble choosing the right encoder to make it not look choppy when its done. I noticed your list of codecs is much longer than mine... did you take any extra steps to get all of those? Also any recommendation on a good format to use for youtube uploads?

  • @phlancelot H.264 AAC mp4. BEST combination for YT i reckon.

  • What program are you using to record the audio in Ubuntu?

  • @eha1990 gnome-soundrecorder

  • @Tru3m0sl3m Thanks for the feedback. I'll try out gnome-soundrecorder and let you know what happens.

  • Nice video thanks. By the way, what screen recorder did you use? I used to use a script based on ffmpeg but it really slows my system with my 1920x1080 screen resolution so I was wondering if you did anything different.

  • @linuxrobotdude gtk-recordmydesktop on nvidia chipset was great.

  • Nice vid. And nice accent, are you Indian? :D

  • @Adavur yup

  • not sure if it would give a widescreen, but as a basic editor,is super, and it was nice to hear you too..nuff said...

  • afta i install it wut do i do? reply bak asap plz

  • Have you tried setting a resolution like 720x480 using a letterbox video? That might give you a widescreen video. I've never tried it though

  • think you bro

    your are the bast

  • Infact i use this app to convert videos too

  • Hands down, Pitivi is the future of video editing on linux. It is the best and most user friendly video editing software on linux. Pitivi is the best video editor for linux no doubt about it.

  • There is no different version its the same which will be bundled in lucid(10.04)

  • Search #Pitivi on #synaptic package manager or #ubuntu software center

  • what do you use?....the codec....i want to screen record 1080p

  • screencasting @1080p using recordmydesktop which utilizes Ogg Theora Video Codec

  • haha wat a funny voice

  • How do u costumize your ubuntu like that...

    Themes.....docks......

    Sorry i am linux newbie!

  • I've done videos on both "docky" and "installing new themes on ubuntu" check it

  • Can you please give the links...??

  • ok lol you could use the search feature...
