I agree to some extent

One can be an excellent singer without playing tabla, but yes, tabla will advance one's musical talents greatly.

I myself am learning Bansuri as my main instrument, but to help myself to learn better, i am learning tabla and singing as well.

Hello. The lehera is set in raag Chandrakauns, for tintaal.

Indian/Pakistani Classical musicians who are truly great, they end up mastering more then just one thing. Not only is he a great Singer, hamonium master but also a good tabla player.

to learn other instruments helps to understand the music as a whole. I am also learning singing, tabla and harmonium. Each one helps learn different parts of the music. It probably is good though to learn one thing more than the others unless who have time to bring each one to a professional level.
