  • ..and this is so melancolic and very beautiful!!!!

  • @criticism1000 Thank you - there are a couple of other uploads of this - one is a live performance - at my channel.

  • @PhillipLWilcher wowww

  • fantastic atmosphere, and excellent composition quality.

  • Thank you again.

There's a recent live performance of this piece here at my channel also.

    I appreciate your enthusiasm.

  • Flute music and subtle orchestrations. I will tell everyone I know about this Australian .I thought Carl Vine was the only special one. This man's music is wrenching ,tender,so quiet but truly memorable and outstanding.I can't believe how fortunate I am that I now have this to hear truly affecting contemporary music! Makes me think of Delius but I like your wind writing extremely!

  • Thank you again for your kind words.

This is only a simulation. A live performance was uploaded recently played by the Bourbaki Ensemble.

    Blessings....

  • Dearest P,

this will always be one of my favourites amongst your many compositions.

The melancholy beauty of this piece affects me in the same way as Albinoni's Adagio in G Minor. Only someone who has lost a loved one could write such heartfelt music - it moves me to tears.

Long may you continue creating beauty.

    Your friend,

    J

  • Thank you John.

Your comment is especially meaningful because you knew my incredible mother for so many years and the circumstances under which I wrote this piece.

Oh, I have more music to write, yes, or as the beautiful poet Robert Frost said : I have miles to go before I sleep.

    Blessings.....

  • this is totally awesome Phillip

    Thank you

  • Thank you Ben!

It will receive its premiere performance next month along with my other flute/string orchestra piece "The Flautist's Pavane".

More importantly though, how are things in your musical world? What are you working on?

    Blessings........

  • i think this will always be one of your most beautiful compositions, Phillip. Its gentleness and white-gold purity transport the spirit into the beyond: thank you again. xM

  • "white-gold purity" - I like that Margaret!

I agree with you ! Thank you friend!

  • So beautiful. Such a beautiful melody.

  • Thank you!

  • Very nice melody! I wish I could hear this played by live Orchestra. Good Luck on your compositions Philip Wilcher. Greetings from Poland.

  • Thank you!

This piece ws recorded on a CD honouring my 50th birthday year last year and will be premiered this July here in Sydney.

I'm glad you like it! Blessings to you....

  • Very nice, so what is your own birthday then? You know Im aquarius but i gotsta know yours

  • I'm Pisces - March 16th. Born in 1958 - I've celebrated my 5th birthday 10 times!! A child at heart.

I'm touched you have passed by. I think your own birthday might be February 10 - yes??

  • Pisces are known for the artistic an creative soul.

Me - the 1st of March.

Sorry to have met you now that I have to leave but I wish you all the best

and thank you for this beauty!

    Stela

  • Thank you Stela! Lovely to meet you here....

  • I really don't remember the reason I mentioned Pisces above. I feel embarassed now : )

It sounds imposing and self-conceited. I apologize.his piece is sp... tender.

    Zen proverb:

God could not get everywhere. That's why he created Mothers

  • I meant :

    This piece is so... tender

    (sorry, typing errors)

  • No need to apolgize - not at all - or to feel embarrased.

I like that thought about mothers.

Today is actually the 4th anniversary of my mother's passing and your message has brought me back here to her piece.

    Tears.......

    Blessings to you!

  • I believe this is a composer who is a unique creation - as if he belongs to another time, another world - I have tried putting the effect of his music into words and it is not an easy thing. Phillip taps right into the creative soul of the musician - I have said it before and I will say it again; no musician who plays his music comes away the same or feels unchanged by the experience.

He is undoubtedly a musician's composer.

  • You overwhelm me! Thank you!

  • Beautiful

  • brought out of my sweet exile for just the space of a breath to open my soul to this quiet meditation. How the ones we love bring us in their great transitions - those within life and those between - closer into the presence of The Eternal. Thank you for giving this sacred space a vibration which resonates to the very core of existence. Bless you, kind Phillip.

  • Thank you as ever for the kind words. God bless!

  • Beautiful piece!

  • What an amazing piece of work. 5 stars

  • Thank you so much!

  • Thankyou so much Phillip, for uploading this exquisite piece. Actually, I was only looking for it on your channel the other day, as it is my favourite from your CD.

It is a most beautiful, moving tribute to your very courageous Mother.

    Warm regards, Helen

  • Thank you so much Helen! Blessings ever to you!

  • It sounds wonderful, sensitive.

Would love it to hear this with a symphonic orchestra, and a violinist for the solo in it. Janine Jansen for instance, for me she is the greatest. Maybe together with Maxim Rysanov on the viola.

  • Thank you! Lovely hearing from you again!

It has actually been recorded on a CD titled "Into His Countenance" as a tribute to my 50th birthday year by the Bourbaki Ensemble with Amanda Muir on flute. I have to use the simulation here. Thank you for your kind words as ever.... bless you!
