Saw these Saturday night in Wolverhampton. Needless to say, they absolutely kicked ass, 10/10. Mangini was god-like and seemed almost stunned by the amazing reception he received after his solo and Ytse Jam. Second, Labrie's vocals were stunning and pretty much pitch perfect; even throwing in a few high notes for free! It was the first time I'd heard this song and they played it magnificently. I don't think we have anything to worry about.

I just dont see them ever having the same greatness without Portnoy, I mean the guy along with Petrucci wrote almost every DT song, I seriously think they made the wrong move in not letting him back in.

@DavidWoodMusic What should poor James LaBrie do? He has to sing the cheesiest lyrics the rest of the band (especially Portnoy) comes up with since Kevin Moore left the band. In addition there is a huge number of fans dissing him, thinking that singing is all about high notes and not about emotion. No matter what people say, James is a fuckin great singer, but Dream Theater is neither giving him enough room for creativity, nor using him properly.

I have mad respect for Portnoy, don't get me wrong, but Neil Peart is in a league of his own. No one even comes close to Peart. Portnoy is definitely second though.

Mike was the frontman, the driving force of the band. if they couldn't take a small break to give Mike the chance to recover than they obviously don't give a fuck about him and all the work he's put in.
