Fake! Thats not how you play that metallica song. The way you play metallica is to start a band of your own, and hand out demo tapes to all your fans and promote the bootleging of the tapes in order to get a fan base. Then after a few more good albums and a slew of shitty ones, you sell out and then sue those fans for doing the same thing (downloading/bootlegging its all the samething) that you once promoted them doing...just so that you can make a few more million unneeded dollars. Thats METAL!

@MrShredtilldead well, you are mincing words here. The tapes and bootlegs that we traded in the 80's were shitty 10th generation copies that sounded awful. Metallica had an issue with their studio masters being given away, and legally if you don't protect your copyrights then you lose the right to own them. Metallica did a good thing for artists, including me, who live off their royalites. Not every band that is getting ripped off is rich. The are bands starving cause of MP3, Thx Tallica!

Gain - 7

Bass - 6

Mid - 1

Treb - 9-10

This will work as long as your amp has distortion or you have a distortion pedal. Hope this helps.

@WNPRJukeBox if your talking about the tone being distortion, the amp metallica used for kill em all and ride the lightning is a marshall plexi. it has a very "chunchy" tone that marshall is known for. hope this helps, and keep practicing.

I realize now mids are a necessity to a good guitar tone as the mids on my own tone are set to 12 O'clock to give a fuller sound. I would have to say that the only tone acceptable to have low or "scooped" mids is Dimebag Darrell's'. If you want to have a good, universal tone, invest in the Electro-Harmonics Metal Muff. One can get a tone as subtle as Black Sabbath to something as extreme as Pantera.

Power chord on 7th fret A string. Open E 4 times, then power chord on A string, 8th to 5th to 7th, open E 4 strums, A string 10th fret to 8th to 7th. Open E 4 strums to 8th to 5th to 7th. Hope that makes sense.

Try to learn it by listening it helps you learn better, but it's always good to know how to read sheet music and tabs.
