I disliked the video.. only because I had to watch the 4 turned 6 videos and and don't even get to taste the final product haha... I know out here in Denver there is a "kit" similar to the one you used, I am more inclined to try it now. Did a pretty good job with the series. Cheers!
a note about starsan it breaks down in solution and feeds the yeast so it is fine to use on bottles and you don't have to rinse it out of your fermenter either. Good video cheers!
@super0pimp Ah--very cool! I had read and seen that you don't really have to rinse it out at all, but did not know that it could actually prove beneficial to the yeast. Thanks for the advice!
@punanibuzzed I agree. But at the same time, you want to get all that beer out of there... That's a conundrum! I've found that tipping the spout to the side is the only way I can set the bucket down without having to hang that edge over a ledge or something.
@punanibuzzed ha, i know. i drilled a spout in a 2 gallon bucket and thoght icould skip a second ferment by drilling up farther and it wassnt enough! so i have to twist it up,gay>also idrilled a hole in the lid for the bubbler and it was just a hare to small making the bubbler want tosqueeez e out and its statrting to crack the lid.doublegay
Thanks for the awesome comment! Yep--iodophor is no rinse as long as you let it dry, kind of like with Star San. I usually do a round of spraying with the sulfiter and then it takes several minutes to dry--so that is more than enough contact time for the iodophor to do it's thing (2 minutes contact is correct). The iodophor doesn't foam hardly at all--and on the other hand, the Star San foams like crazy. So definitely be sure to pick them both up!
Oh--I just thought of another helpful hint. You don't have to let either Star San or Iodophor completely dry if you don't want to--it will not affect the taste of your beer or be unhealthy for you if there is a trace amount left in your bottles or on your equipment. As long as you don't drink the stuff, it's A-OK if you want to leave them a tad bit damp (I usually do because I'm impatient!)
Joe, great videos. The Star San does not require drying.I have the same bottle sanitizer and I fill it about a third full with Star San and use a bottle tree to hang them on as I work thru them. It does foam but not to the point it is a problem. I also use a 5 gallon bucket if I am bottling a 6 pack from my kegs to take to a friends etc. Just dunk them in, pour them out and bottle. Haven't had any snags in 2 years of doing it this way.

Awsome vid!
Iodaphor (sp) is non rinse right? I heard that it needs 2 min contact time? I guess I should also buy some when I get the Star San.
