Dshoots, because of the cropped sensor, have you ever figured out a way to use guide lines on your lcd (perhaps modifying a screen protector), on the 7D, in order to compensate when shooting video intended for 16:9?
yeah 7d is awesome camera, has lots of features 5dmkii doesnt, but the Full frame sensor will blow you away when looking at the IQ. especially at higher iso's 800-3200 etc.
@TommyPh500d it has a full frame sensor and works better in low light. There's not a HUGE difference in the cameras, and in some aspects the 7D is better for film, but after using the 5D it felt like a better camera to suit my needs.
@Dailyshoots I too have a 7D and I'm thinking of making a switch to the 5D Mark ii also. Did you just sell your used 7D back to a photo store and then pick up the 5D? What did you do? I'm thinking about craigslist...
@Dailyshoots hello, my friend! Thank you for your reply. I have a favor to ask - can you email an itemized list of all of the equipment used in the video to my YouTube email? And also where I could buy it? My father and I are wanting to invest in something like this to shoot footage of his classic car collection. We are also wanting to use sound. I'll send you a friend request via YouTube if that helps. I would seriously appreciate your help. Thanks for your time...
@cito720 this is actually very outdated of my camera, I actually use a 5D MKII now and I don't use that audio device you see in the video, I use something called a "Zoom H4N" it is a lot better. as well, the one you see in the video is called a "beachtek" but I don't recommend it
Was the film Frost 7 filmed on all of that equipment? What kind of lens are you using on it? And how do I achieve a 2000 ISO without all the loud hiss the 7d makes? Do I use a Beachtek thing and if so, how do i record audio on it? THanks so much for your time and consideration. Your film is looking fabulous!
@CristhianAndrews Hey sorry for the late reply! I've been busy on a few shoots and there's tons of new stuff coming.
1. Download a program called "Neat Video." It is the best grain removal tool out there and only costs $100.
2. I actually sold my BeachTek and I now use something called "Zoom H4N." It has the best audio quality in my opinion for DSLR and really sells a perfect look. You can find it for about $300 at nearly any audio store.
@redrockmicro From Redrock themselves?! Thank you that means so much! You make the best gear and I always point people in the direction of Redrock. Keep it up!
