  • what is the middle piece? your "apparatus"

  • That is pretty awsome

  • waht the name

  • hmmm looks like a FRS/GMRS radio and you have it set to a licensed GMRS frequency and that does not have 22,000 radio channels. Only CTCSS tones with many combos. Only one radio can occupy the passband at one time or else you have interference, interference is caused by two or more transmitter occupying the same passband with comparable strengths, CTCSS does not solve interference it just does not listen for other transmitters, but yet interference is still there if there was some beforehand.

  • you are GENIUS!

  • COOL!!!

  • no it doesn't have 22,000 channels! it has a few channels with a lot of different ctcss tones. ctcss doesn't provide privacy in any way. Radios will go further if both are line of sight, but on a few hundred milliwatts will not go 20+ miles!

stick to cameras, you know very little about radio.

  • No, not 22,000 channels. A PL tone does not create a new channel or get rid of interference, it just covers up other users and interference on the same channel.

  • you have schematics of your switch?

  • Never trust the manufacturers claims of the distance. They can go for probably a hundred miles if you have line of sight, or less than a metre if you have a think block of lead in the way. It all depends on surroundings.

  • It nice idea I like it!

  • Are the radios really working at 20 miles ? And btw ... it can be used anywhere in the world right ? And ... can them intercept Police radios?

  • What is the zoom on the camera u use ?

  • nice setup

  • did he just look up by crossing lines....this really has no practicality.

  • *Interferance from near-by source triggers camera* FUUUUU~

  • hey do these tell you if youve missed a call?

  • THIS IS FLIPPING AMZING !! DO YOU SELL ITEM or INSTRUCTIONS

  • lol...dude

a wireless trigger on ebay is about 0.99 ,and whats the point of having a camera miles away? even if is a interesting gadget theres no point on doing it ,unless u want someone to steal ur camera ! lool

    nice einstein

  • 22,000? 22 channels x 100 sub-channels = 2,200 channels no? am i missing some info? i guess if it has ten different filters? but 2,200 is still pretty impressive.

  • lol "mt soladad" sounds like you said "mom sold a dad" anyways nice vid

  • Can u help me?

A have an alecto fr-60 with 8 chanels.

I live in Rotterdam in the netherlands. It has a capability of 7 kilometers.

But when I use it after 200 meters it will not work. I just don't get it.

Maybe it is the buildings or something. But a walkie talkie should do it every time. PLEASE HELP thx

  • HEY>>>SOMME ONE KNOW THE NAME OF THE PRODUCT? I serch over the net but found nothing like. somme help...please....

  • OMG you are a freaking genius!

  • Awsome zoom!

  • Neat project, but can you give us some real life uses for such range?

  • @Biffbradford this is useless unless you hock that walkie-talkie to a bomb.

    :D

  • @liquidus2172 really?

  • @sambiggy4u yep!!

  • @Biffbradford I don't know. Tactical espionnage action perhaps?

  • She must really like you to do all that

  • cool

  • whats the point??????

  • If the radios also have a mic input, you can transmit a RS-232 (Serial) signal. It wouldn't be very fast say 300 baud. But you get some servo's going and you can pan the camera up\down\left\right with your PC. I've seen this done with ham radios before.

  • Can You Have a video how to make your apparatus...

  • The image could be significantly deteriorated by the radio interference.

  • @mikeanable so significant, it wont even be significant, lol

  • @mikeanable thats bull

  • @mikeanable all the radios are for is to activate a trigger for the camera to snap the picture... he is not transmitting any information accept "camera take the picture now". and hell thats even after the transmission is received by his device which then accepts the transmission and in turn tells the camera to snap the picture.

  • everyone else with family radio (fr) can also trigger the camera, dumb/lazy idea

  • Really dude? You have never dealt with pocket wizards and their lack of reliability? This is an awesome idea that is well executed!

  • 0:54 where is that? texas?

  • Canon 5d 12 mp camera,lens 17-40, L4, value, around 2,100.00 dallars

  • What a good IED trigger you have thanks .

  • I could make a remote control Bomb with this!!! Ahhhh..... I smell and IED coming to a town near you!

  • very cool.

  • As robertsdoug said, it only has 22 channels. The privacy codes only tell the radio when to break squelch. So if you transmit on say, Channel 22 with privacy code 82, then anyone else on channel 22 will be heard if they are transmiting at the same time because squelch is broken.

  • 22 channels with 100 sub channels equals 22 hundred channels, not 22 thousand. If you are that stupid why would anyone buy anything from you?

  • wow nice idea

  • this makes the cam susceptible to interference

  • Hey that is great.......can the same be done for a video camera ????

  • Umm, no.

It has 22 channels with 100 privacy codes.

100 people cannot be talking on the same channel at once, even with different privacy codes. Privacy codes are just a way of filtering out others.

  • Would it possible to modify this for flash triggering like a pocketwirzard ?

  • Probally!

  • That's insane.

  • Very nice!

  • Looks like a simple miliamp relay hooked to a 9 volt, good idea.....not to sound like a jerk but the radio has only 2,200 not 22,000 :)

  • name of walkie talkies

  • great zoom on you're camera!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sorry , large 36'' beach ball and add helium to it , try that out for the next time , cool video and distances

  • All u gotta do now is add a large 36'' beach with a platform put the camera and stuff on it and add a very long string and let it hover in the air about 3 miles up and tske some pix from up there?????

  • pretty cool, so whats that apperatus that u invented inbetween the reviever and cam?

  • Amazing!

  • Any way to hack these kinds of radios for triggering flashes, or is there no way to overcome the flash delay?
