Assassin's Creed 3 story secret: Abstergo is in Italy!

i assumed that it was in Italy when a car trip took them to Monteriggioni in AC: Brotherhood

Makes sense. It's possible that Abstergo's place is secluded in some place of Italy, and the Templars kidnapped Desmond from New York so that nobody Desmond came into contact with would find him (which is where he was before being kidnapped but after leaving The Farm. Also, we never see the exact outside of Abstergo's building in Assassin's Creed. The fact that the Animus-Assassin squad (Lucy, Desmond, Shaun and Rebecca) drove to the Auditore Villa also makes it impossible they were in the USA.

Abstergo is in Italy AND USA and there are branches of this templar company around the world. And since they drove their way to Monterrigioni and the Colosseum, it's preety obvious they're in Italy. And I think it is mentioned in ACI or II, but maybe I'm wrong and it was reffered in the novels. Anyway, there isn't just one base of Templars or one base of Assassin's, it's like guilds in other countries.

I think it looks so US because the first game is not planned to be in Italy.

But when they write the sequel it changed because they have to drive from Abstergo to Monterigioni so it can't be too far.

The reason that makes me think they haven't planned to make sequel from the first time

is the plot of the first game is boring (but the action is awesome), locations and time are much different. (Maybe because they got new writer or something)

In this time it wasn't known that Ubisoft wants to do a spin-off of Assassin's Creed 2, therefore I thought that this hidden secret will be revealed in AC 3. In AC Brotherhood and in AC Revelations (singleplayer) nobody tells you the exact place of Abstergo, there are just hints.
