I enjoy the older version's dialogue in the cheesy, infinitely quotable way that one can only love classic, bad video game dialogue. It's great, and it comes from a time when nothing else was trying things like that.
That said, this version is insanely powerful. It makes the relationship between Richter and Dracula a personal vendetta, and it establishes Dracula as someone who can fuck with your head and shake your faith in your beliefs just by talking to you. "And die for their sins!"

Really, the only way to judge the dialouge is to show both to a non-castlevania fan, preferably someone in the voice acting business and ask for their opinion. We as fans have our judgement clouded(I'm talking about both sides, not just those who like the original more.)

Old voices had better sentences and words...they were just awesoem , but they spoke them with no soul . the new voices are good too , and u can hear angriness (is this english xD ) in there voice . At least i like the old ones more...but i always need to laugh cause they say it so..dooooowwwnnn xD

well, after you beat the game (reverse castle and all) you unlock richter mode, I believe you can play through the game as richter or maria. It's been a very long time since I beat SotN so I'm not absolutely sure but I think that's how you do it.

IT's funny that the incredibly sucky dialog in the original is way way way way better then this one. They changed something so bad into something even worse xD! But stil it's one of the best games ever.
Original dialogue is way better? Oh, so you played the original Japanese version with Japanese voice acting then, right? Because anything dubbed is clearly not original. Both English version voice acting sucks, which is why we have the original acting and subtitles on the PSP version.
Old Richter voice (and maybe all voices) were better. Cheesy Dialogues were awesome. Seriousness is awesome. Damn it's hard 2 decide which 1 is the best.

The old SOTN dialogue is infinitly better. I can't, for the life of me, fathom why they changed it.

The new dialogue dulls the entire message of the old... Though a bit bombastic, the old voice acting was way better as well.
Anyways, thanks for sharing, now i know what folks are complaining about...

Old Richter voice (and maybe all voices) were better. Cheesy Dialogues were awesome. Seriousness is awesome. Damn it's hard 2 decide which 1 is the best.

In a way I kind of like the new translation as in it's more serious, but I kind of also like the cheesy old translation. But enough of this talk, have at you.

on PCE he is Short Hair, in SotN long Haired but after all in SotN they used Rondo of Blood sprite which is odd since in saturn(and only there) they used different sprite

Well, it is a little less hammy than the PlayStation one. (Dialogue aside, the best damn game on the PSX.)

No way. Johnny Yong Bosch does other stuff. He's the voice of Nero in Devil May Cry 4. Dave's main work was in the GunXSword anime series, which was awesome.

Yeah, they desecrated this legendary game by fucking up the voice overs and replacing them with modern day English text and voice overs! Hearing this in modern day English and not 1492 and 1497 medieval talk like it's supposed to be absolutely kills the entire game for me!
