  • Most hair care products contain propylene glycol and other hazardous chemicals that kill brain cells. So, your hair may grow using some commercial shampoos, but at what cause to your cognitive ability. Do a google search on the hazards of propylene glycol. It's the main ingredient in anti-freeze and it does not belong on your body. Your skin your largest organ and whatever you put on your skin is absorbed into your body.

  • people keep saying that VO5 is bad for your hair. I used to use EXPENSIVE shampoo and my hair looked horrible. I went on vacation last year and ran out of shampoo, so bought VO5 shampoo strawberry and cream in the local supermarket.Washed my hair with it for 3 weeks. My hair was soft, shiny and didnt shed. Since then I am using VO5.Its cheap and works for me :)

  • take Biotin supplement its really good for hair!!

  • can men take prenatal vit for hair growth?

  • VO5 IS NOT HORRIBLE YOU JUST HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO USE IT, I LIVE IN THE CARIBBEAN AND WHAT I DO IS USE IT AS A BASE TO MAKE MY OWN CONDITIONER, I USE COCONUT WHICH IS GRATED AND SOAKED 2 DAY IN THE FRIDGE TO SEPARATE AND USE IT HALF OF IT TO A 1/4 OF VO5 WORK WONDERS FOR DETANGLING

  • I heard that drinking a lot of water is good for your hair and it grows faster. Lol. I dunno. That's what I heard. And if you eat certain foods too...?

  • have you ever used aloe and lemons to cleanse your it is a really good concoction my aunt uses on her hair and it is really long and healthy also moisturize with coconut oil

  • Thank you for the Great information. I really enjoyed your You Tube.

  • i use vo5 people should shut up i know what you mean by natural hair like not without washing your hair and using stuff but like weaving, extentions and fake hair its like growing your real hair without needing fake hair. and im going to go eat a bunch of hair you helped(:

  • African American Hair Care - For Growth and Health - blackhaircaregrowth.blogspot. com

  • lemme get dis str8. u washed ur hair wit VO5. what about buildup? what about cleansing the hair ? just wanted to be sure. Whatever works. Some v05 smells great and does have good stuff in it but it is up to you

  • ROFL!

  • The name of this video is: ' How to grow your NATURAL HAIR!!!! long and healthy

Does NATURAL HAIR say anything to you????

  • whoah

  • It called embracing ur natural self.....U kno NATURAL they way god made you. w/o chemicals. SMH! Stop hating!

  • how do u put those things while ur recording?? j/w because that would be ver helpful to me!

  • VO5 is horrible is for hair!

  • @XPhat159PhatX ..i dont use that anymore..

  • this is like health all over again

but i will defintely try this

  • i cut my hair back in nov and after i did that i regreted it so i grew it back and it's like at the bottom of my neck know...

  • one of the most funnest ways to lose weight while stilll havin fun is 4 me SWIMMING.....but all these other ideas bout karate are gr8 also

  • The easiet and most fun way I lost weight and became healthier via exercise was to get back into martial arts, this time karate (before it was tae kwon do). Not only do you lose weight but you learn self defense & how to ocntrol your breathing for strength and stanima, amoung many mor ethings. Also, you stay motivated to lose weight because you want to be able to do katas without collapsing and you want to gain speed to have your katas and sparring be more effective.

  • Helps with hair growth too because you watch what you eat so you have energy to learn the katas, combos, and other techniques...at least this has been the case for me. Super helpful is that studying martial arts has cut down on stress a ton, so I don't lose hair from stress, have poor sleep habits, or stay wound up nearly as much as I did when I had years long hiatus from studying a martial art. Kickboxing is good for weight loss and stress reduction too.

  • Excellent I'm learning Pilates and have seen my body toning up, also I'm learning how to belly dance!! you are absolutely right about exercise and having a healthy lifestyle is key my hair has grown so much since I've been eating right such as more vegetables, fruits, the right proteins including a variety of nuts....

  • trimmed my hair every 10 weeks, only a dust not a true trim- just millimeters off. I took Vitamin E and garlic vitamins. My hair is (4b-coarse) so, I totally contribute my growth to this regimen.

  • 4b-coarse????

where did you figure this out at??

  • My hair grew longest when I washed it once a week. I always used Dudley's PCA moisturizer before I roller set my hair. Once a 6 weeks I used a protein treatment by Dudley( can't think of the name) to strengthen my hair, but it was good -cost $50/bottle. I never let the hairstylist get my hair bone straight; it almost looked underprocessed. He

  • I start taking a multi vitamin with Biotin a B vitamin and my hair is growing longer and healthy fast. I also made other changes like keeping my hair moisturized every day and wrapping my hair before i go to sleep. I only relax my new growth and I stop combing my hair. I only use my fingers. I was my scalp with 1 egg and a teas. of shampoo and condition with mayonnaise from the fridge. My hair aint never been this long

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your video!

If i heard weel: you said that the birth control stop the hair growth?

I just wanted to confirm that.

And if you can explain to me how can it be possible!

am on birth control since 5 months! (what's the alternative to the women who are raking B.Control?)

    Thank you for your help!

  • No, no, thats not entirely true! When you FIRST start taking bc, you have hormaonal changes and for some women it is hardly noticeable, others it is a little noticeable. But any change only lasts for 3 mos, then u cool after that. I researched the hell outta this cuz iheard that too, but I did not notice any change in my hair at all. THYROID problems will definitely affect your hair growth so make sure you all good with that!

  • hey nappy star! is ok to go natural and not add any oils to my hair? i heard that ur hair produces natural oils. and its better not to add any chemicals to it?? please respond back! ;)

  • Good points regarding natural hair. What you eat and the vitamins you take are very important to a healthy body. In my video I encourage healthy eating and getting in tune with your body. I appreciate your information

  • some gray hair can not be reduced. my gray came in at the age of 14...like every female in my family. I dont have a problem with that, i did used to have a problem with the location of it...but then i realized that makes me unique.

  • Hey! Im the same way except my grays came in when I was 11. When I was younger I did have a problem with it, I HATED IT. But now I'm 22 and I could care less. It does make me unique but it also makes me a part of my family so w.e :)

  • a head of gray is a crown of splendor the bible says. mine came in directly in the center of my head...and grew verticlaly from there. folks where calling me skunk. hahah now they say "stripe" but once you are past teenage years...its like '...and?..."

  • Dear Nappystar25

Im a caucasian male and Im losing my hair pretty badly. My hair is fine and thin but would those same ingredients that you suggested apply to a different kind of hair like mine?

Thank you so much and god bless.

    J

  • Umm I was just wondering , what kind of milk ? Skim milk , Whole milk .....

  • w/e

  • you look good

  • finally someone talking about growing hair naturally>>>thank u

  • That is what promotes healthy hair.

    Thanks.

  • I am taking prenatal vitamins, use olive oil and shea butter in my hair. I retwist with that also, and (grease from Silk elements) hair is doing well.

  • Thanks for the tips =]

  • Use natural products e.g. essential and carrier oils. Rosemary oil at night, increases blood supply to the scalp and the smell akes me sleep better.

  • This false even though eating healthy will be good for you but it wont make everyone hair grow so long. It all starts from the scalp, where you have to stimulate by keeping you scalp clean and massaging. Emu oil helps fill in bald spots and can grow hair length, as it done for me, and there are other oils out there that can make the hair grow longer! STIMULATE YOUR SCALP!

  • True, but vitamins still help...This is to maximize growth....Stimulating your scalp and getting the right vitamins will do that...I know for a fact that some of these vitamins work against dandruff too...(like she said)..

  • I agree...Love women with long hair...

  • thanks for taking the time to educate

  • if u go 2 walmart nd buy these vitamins, called, well HAIR.comes in a box 4 abt. 3-4 dollars.i take them abt 2 daily nd promotes hair growth within a 2 week frame.u WILL see a difference.also take a biotin pill with ea. multi vitamin.

  • go to a health store like wild by nature, or whole foods and buy a women's multivitamin which contains all b complex vitamins, iron, and calcium.

  • Great (natural hair) video: watch?v=uOmfu2xZO1M

  • healthytexturesdotcom has great healthy haircare tips. Many of the same things you mentioned plus more I've seen there. Nice video. :)

  • which multi vitamin is best?

  • the most important thing is to look at the amt of vit and min in the bottles- i take prenatals

  • do you ever go on blackhairmedia forum? I notiece many people talk about taking prenatal vitamins

  • i will have to check that out--thanks

  • CAROL's Daughter, Creme of nature or Olive stimulator...V05 is not natural...

  • None of those products are all natural that you've listed blue water, you're right. Aubrey Organics is the real deal.

  • Google a web site called "Skin Deep" and type in the Aubrey Organics products you use and you will see that it isn't natural after all. I was very upset about that because i have been using them forever and feeling good about it too up until i found out that they are full of crap too.

  • You can also find zinc in mushrooms...

  • "The microorganisms that live in the digestive tract produce biotin that the body can use, and biotin is "recycled" in the human body.

There is no scientific evidence to suggest that biotin can treat hair loss or stimulate hair growth in people with normal biotin levels."

Just thought I'd put that out there...

  • I didnt know--great tip

  • "It is true that a biotin deficiency can cause hair loss and that treating a biotin deficiency can help restore normal hair growth. However, biotin deficiencies are quite rare. The body needs only a tiny amount of biotin, and many foods contain biotin..."

  • No ham!!! lLOL

  • word

  • all you need to do is keep hot irons and all the bull we use in the hair that promotes breakage out. Biotin is all you need the capsule at the health food store I take it everyday and my hair grows like a chame

  • all you need is Biotin and a great diet

  • Could anybody make a summary here and send it to me, please? I will buy you a beer next time I meet ya :o)

    Dusan

  • I have Natural 4a textured waist length hair. I've been growing it since 1995 and came across a some truths and myths. Do you have to trim your ends all of the time? NO. Since 1995 I have trimmed my ends 3 times. The problem is leaving your hair out in the air and letting the ends get dry. 90% of the time I wore my natural hair in protective hairstyles or I was wearing braid extensions or wigs. So my ends were not getting damaged. Number one key is to keep your hair moisturized day and night.

  • I had to get my ends cut after every time I get a perm it grows but the beautition (I don't know if I spelled that right) trims it to help it be healthy.

  • VO5 is definently not alright as far as the ingredients go. I will put it this way, anything you can go to places like Wal-Mart or your local beauty supply is most likely to have some toxic chemicals in it. Unless you shop Health food stores (even then you have to be knowledgable), you are not going to find natural products. Just because it contains some good things doesn't make it safe. Take care!

  • what do you recommend?

  • Tell me the products that you are looking for specifically and i will better be able to help you. Are you looking for a good conditioner, shampoo, gel, etc? Will let you know what i like, but everyone is different. Take care!

  • My hair is locked but I have a huge problem with dry frizzy hair. I like natural products so I'm looking for something in that area. My problem is my hair isn't a tight as other dreds. Because of the frizz, they look a little bigger. What you got? :)

  • By the way, I read your profile and my hair texture is just like yours. I have to deal with dry, frizzy and curly/kinky. I love it to death but I need to know how to better care for it.

  • I think the reason why a lot of people see it as important to keep your ends trimmed is because if there is breakage and split ends unless it is cut off then it will continue to ride up the hair shaft thus making the hair overall damaged and unhealthy.I don't know why some people choose to put vile comments on these videos. The madness needs to stop.Aside from taking the mentioned vitamins for healthy hair WE need it for chemical balancement!Maybe some y'all will chill then!

  • you seriously need to stop being so ignorant. People like you are the reason so many blacks are catagorized as ignorant and stupid. Your comments in the past DID offend people...I don't give a care what you say. It offended me. It doesn't matter what someone else is doing or saying- show some leadership and don't say it yourself. Stop giving our race of people a bad name...not all of us are ignorant and not all of us don't research our answers before we state them.

  • I guess we have to agree to disagree.

However, alot of black people are scared to trim/cut their hair and go into emotional breakdown.

You carry on doing what you do and I will carry on doing what I do.

  • Also, Omega-3 is good for hair growth.

  • Well my Jamaican indian mother told me that trimming... not cutting your hair will make it grow.

It worked for me, I got my hair trimmed by the hairdresser and it grew loads.

I suppose it is just a matter of opinion.

  • i would also have to disagree with you. i'm jamaican n i fell victim to this myth as well. i mean when u think about it....how is trimming your hair gonna make it grow? as imnance82 stated trimming broken or split ends prevent further damage to hair by stopping the split from traveling up the hair shaft. basically it allows you to maintain the growth you've achieved. you can prevent split ends by taking extra care of them:keep them moisturized, stay away from too much heat

  • Plus it is in your genes, there must be loads of people out there eating so much fresh fruit and veg ans still have no hair!

  • The only thing that makes your hair grow is TRIMMING it every 6 weeks, you can take all the vitamins you want, but you need to trim it as well!

  • I have to disagree with your comment. The cutting your hair to make it grow is a myth that we have all fallen victim to. Cutting your hair, if hair is damaged prevents further breakage that hinders growth. So while the end result of hindering growth is true the premise is false.

  • She is right eating right taking vitamins, drinking water, exercise all help to stimulate growth. Growth occurs in the body once the hair comes out the scalp it is dead so cutting the ends doesn't send signals to the root making the hair grow. After you take care of what your body needs to stimulate growth you can preserve your hair by moisturizing, deep conditioning, and keeping heat off of it stop prevent breakage.

  • Even when I had a relaxer I went a year without cutting my ends and my hair still grew the ends looked straggly but it grew. I suggest you educate yourself because your hair dresser will tell you lies to get money out of you and keep you dependent on them for hair growth.

  • Read books and do your homework and you will see. Btw you are right not everyone's hair genetically will grow down their backs. Hair has a shelf life for how long it will grow that's why we shed 100 to 60 strands a day. But that doesn't mean it can't be thick and health and that starts on the inside.

  • Oh, and what do you think of Shea OIL? I know most prefere the natural form of shea butter but it can be hard and very expensive to get.

  • HOw do you feel about the women who say that VO5 and Sauve are not very good on natural hair. I've stopped using oth, but get conflicting views about what it does to natural hair; what's your expirence with it?

  • I think anything with alcohol in it isn't good for our type hair. it takes out more oils and drys it out leading to breaking etc you know the story

  • thanxx 4 da advise

    im gunna use it

  • thank u 4 the tips it is really helpful

ya i just got my hiar cut not so long ago like 2 week that women fuck up my hiar now that i want my hiar back so i'll try to fallow some of your tips.

  • thankyou for this...you are really smart....thankyou for your advice..i just really want my hair to grow

    you are really cute =D

  • Your statement is beyond racist, it's stupid as hell; but here is your answer: YES. hair is hair is hair! And hair TEXTURE is not restricted to ETHNIC background, and depends on the pore and strand shape and growing patterns. Your hair doesn't grow the exact same all over your head-or body, for that matter. And using 'kinky' is a much better way not to get flamed online or reported to youtube as someone using racial sterotypes.

  • You may find offending an entire ethnic group and others funny, but it can get your account suspended. It probably won't matter to you, but there is also getting flamed by MANY angry people-why trash your pride over a stupid statement? Show as much respect as you want to be given ( online and off) and you'll be better off and just a better person overall-"the golden rule" is as old as time.

  • YOu've proved yourself the idiot here; remeber this, tick off enough people and you will be censored weather it is right or wrong-and you are SO VERY VERY WRONG! Also, Freedom of speech is vastly diffrent from rascism; which is the GROss abuse of free speech designed to limit a group or people from having the right to excercise thier God given and legal rights to free speech. And you did make a joke of it in your response; and all here know you woulnd't have said it aloud in a mixed group.

  • Becareful they can report you & suspend your accoun.Pretty slow of you not to know that.

  • there are youtube accounts dovted to racism all the videos are full of people saying they are going to kill blacks and arabs and whites and so on... you tube cares not due to freedom of speach, pretty dumb of you not toknow of free speach. and like id give a fuck if my accoiunt got closed i juts make a new one. duhhhhhhhhhhhhh. lmfao at you fools.

  • youtube doesn't have all americans, so stop using the 'freedom of speech' card. duuhhhhhhhhhh

  • every black woman has a different hair texture some is really tight curls some is loose curls and some is straight just like not all white people hair is bone straight hell i see mad white girls straighten there hair so just watch wat u say cause u can offend people

  • i know some white girls have shit hair u watch what u say cos ur having a sook over nothing freak

  • I think what you meant to say was black people have a thicker hair FOLLICLE than white people. By using the word "publicle style" hair - you very much were making an insult by saying our hair is like pubic hair. And you're mistaken - what you said is not racist - it's just stupid. And shows your intelligence, or lack thereof more than anything else.

  • lol.. i think she pronounced it wrong... :0 dont take it soo hard.

  • @piashantee omg its not that serious. she here to share info to help you.. not for you to call her out on how she word things

  • If you know or think that it's a racist comment, why would you stoop down to such a low level of stupidity to say it?

    AND.........

why the heck would you relate hair to pubic hair?

  • Okay like my hair is growing but its growing uneven... so i wanted to try ur method but before I do I wanted to know if I should cut my hair in a short style and then start to proceed to grow my hair again?

  • Even out your hair by how healthy the strands are, get rid of split ends, etc...

ANd try carrot tea tree oil (natural) it stimulates hair health and hair growth.

  • so basicly eat a bit of everything?

  • So basically eat nuts. And i love nuts. any certain nuts. Let me know. What nuts do what or do they pretty much all do the same

  • hey nappystar i just wanted to know does super gro or any type of grease makes your hair grow faster??.....at one time i didint grease or mositurize my hair at all...all i did was wash it everyday..it grew alot..should i try this again?

  • Never "grease" your hair. Mineral oil and petroleum, which constitute "grease" clog the pores in your scalp and actually halt hair growth.

The best thing to do is condition your hair every day with a natural/organic conditioner, but do NOT shampoo every day. After you condition, rinse and gently towel dry. Every other day, rub a little bit of a mix of coconut oil and olive oil into your scalp. Just a little bit!!

Then, once a week gently shampoo your hair and deep condition. Your hair will grow!

  • so true

  • so i got some coconut oil but its like grease will it do the same as the "oil?"

  • What type of natural/organic conditioners are good. Are there any particular products or items that you use?

  • hey um i think if you dont wet your hair it groes trust me....my hair hs grown so fast

  • I agree with the vitamins, water and excercising. However, trimming does NOT make the hair grow, it is simply for cosmetic purposes only. Or to shape the hair. I also noticed that my ends are easier to comb when I trim the ends if they get really bad but this can also be contributed to dryness. But your hair will continue regardless of the split ends, but if your hair is dry then you will see breakage.

  • i cut my dreads, now i miss them so i want 2 grow them back, give me hints...

  • @Gameboy757blood if you still have them, sew them back in and let them combine with your new growth. I know it sounds crazy, but I've heard of people cutting their dreads, yet..kept them in a bag, and re-attached them whenever they wanted them back in. However, you have to make your parts according to how many dreads you had.

  • that explains why prenatal pills make everything my hair grow so long so fast...my nails grow long & strong too...

  • That is so true. Have you ever tried Buried Treasure PreNatal Plus DHA Complete and their Hair, Skin and Nails complete? I swear by this stuff.

  • Question. I'm a boy who went natural. I had braids and a perm. From the tightness and relaxer, I lost some hair and got a recited hairline. I'm young and recitig hairlines dont run in the family. I went natural as of December. Is my hair ever going to grow back?

  • It should grow back since your not doing the perm and too tight braids..If i was you i would look into rosemary oil and see if that can help. it is helping my mother side grow back..but make sure you dont rub in on your scalp alone. Use it with another carrier oil..

  • Ok thank u! I'll let u know how it goes!

  • well since you said your young and this dont run in your family yes it should grow back, if your healthy and dont have any issue that might stop it from growin. but yes if not then your will most likly grow ack if treated right and eating good.

  • Okay! I use hair grease. Should I substitute for that?

  • Hey thanks! Hope this workds!

  • hey, am a boy, i want to grow out my hair too, so i can make dread locks i love them, but can you make a vid how to grow out your hair, boys hair? cuz mine is short, and there is no vid for boys what so ever, can i sue these steps?

  • I believe you can use the same things on this vid to help..let me know how it goes..

  • This chick rocks! I am an older generation Heavy Metal guy. I own my own company so I can't get fired. I used to have hair pass my ass.

I have decided to grow it out again.

Let it be known that genetically humans typically grow half an inch a month.

I used to take only beta carotine or something similar and achieve great hair growth fast.

Her advice is dead on! Happy hair growing peeps!

  • same story here metal rules

  • Thanks for the information! Many blessings to you. Look forward to your videos.

  • Thanks for all the info!!!! Stay natural sista!!!

  • I follow a strict diet of lacto-pesco-vegetarian. All the vitamins you stated are found in this diet. I come from native aboriginal ancestory and I beleive my ancestors lived off this diet. And to this day all my relatives have long, thick, healthy hair.

  • Thank You for the Tips

  • *Ultra Nourishair is what I meant - it's a supplement from GNC.

  • Okay, 55 days ago my hair was chopped off by the worst hair stylist ever. Since then, I've been taking "Ultra Nourihair", and it has all the vitamins and minerals you named off. I've been measuring every day and it appears to have grown an inch and a half in less than two months...am I crazy and over zealous, or is this actually possible?

  • thank you for your video. very informative

  • A good hair product is this hair growth grease and hair growth shampoo and conditioner called goddess. It grows out your hair very fast. You can find it at worldofentertainment23((dot))com
