i remember seeing joy division supporting the buzzcocks in 1979 in liverpool. the buzzcocks knew that joy division had blown everyone away. they could hardly go on stage to do their set.

When I consider all the crappy bands with boring front men, it never ceases to amaze me that the folks who had the good fortune to film Joy Division spend so much time featuring mechanical guitar, bass, and drums playing, nearly completely ignoring Ian Curtis, one of the most interesting front me ever.

@KeithStoneman well since they're a band, and they didnt know Curtis would hang himself, I'm sure they wanted to shoot the entire band equally. I love curtis, but there are 3 other guys in the band too

@KeithStoneman Not even Ian would have sounded good acapella mate! Morris' frantic machine like drumming, hookys high low bass and sumners over quantized plucking made they're sound, as did Hannett!
