  • yesss !! iraq !!! \m/ we roll ! haha

  • WHERES THE ZOMBIE GOAT THAT TALKS! he wouldve been awesome, GO ZOMBIE GOAT

  • we had to freaking watch this is history(:

  • my social studies teacher showed the music video for this 2 weeks ago and we all still go around school singing tthe chorus!!! =) haha but hey it gets us to study!! i actually like this song as a song =) its the kind of music that i listen to! asherbanipal no gum for u. =) \m/>.<\m/ rock on!

  • :D This songs keeps the spirit up

  • Song is great, performance was good, but your comments were gold. LOL :D

  • omg love this song!

They need a goat tho haha

  • Craig Ferguson look kinda a Mohenjo Darren

  • The live Mesopotamians from Conan O'Brien is a better recording and performance. Flansburgh doesn't play on this tune because he's less of a virtuoso than Linnell and probably can't play the part. Linnell writes really chewy tunes. It's great they never let a disparity in musicianship get in the way of their friendship or business. Flansburgh's imagination and sense of humor is huge and he writes great tunes, just simpler. Check out Mono Puff to hear him on his own. I love these guys.

  • the vocals here (live) not nearly as good as the recorded version. flat and scratchy, especially in the beginning

  • Fist Of TRIUMPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D

  • ...except for ashurbanipal.

  • Who's to say Mohenjo Daroan is correct and Mohenjo Daran isn't? It's not like they called themselves that.

  • oh gosh, i love them so much.

    they rock so hard.

  • Love this song. They could have really used a goat on stage, though.

  • great vid but they cant get there voice to go as high on mesipotaimons but still good

  • im learning abou that song

  • Is that Flansburgh as a backup singer? What an outrage! Shouldn't he up, front and center jamming away?

  • in this song he does something else.

  • Not necessary, LInnell can handle the vocals and Miller the guitar. ; )

  • i know. i noticed ever since they got that (unnecesarry) new guitarist john flans has really cut down on playing. if you watch recent preformances, you'll notice for the most part he just sings and happens to be holding a guitar

  • I don't like this, first time I heard them live and it isn't great. His voice sounds especially course live. The backup singers went off tune for a bit in the beginning.

  • what do you expect? the coarse voice is due to the fuzz on the sound and the back up singers going of tune for a min well thare only humens and made up for it later the combo of great music great lyrics and great voices should be enough for you and if you dont think so then finego ahead oh and you also got to remeber they arent exactilty their youngest anymore

  • and that's why they rule and you don't lol...what?

  • OMG, we just finished learning bout mesopotaimians!! We watched this like 17 times!! <3333

  • is this guy a history teacher

  • lol wy social studies class iz learnin about mesopotamia.

  • It's hard to think that this was a year ago.

I feel like I was loving this video yesterday!

  • unfortunately i missed this one! :(

  • Is it just me, or did Flansburgh gain a bit?

Other than, these guys are awesome. One of the best, yet not as known bands I've ever heard. GO TMBG!!

  • This is the best song ever!

  • No, he's cool. You're lame.

  • i saw these guys about a week or so before they performed this on furgusons, it was the shit.

  • This was performed way better in person. Something is definitely lost in the filming.

  • There's no way that there's a teacher out there who takes thier shirt off and dances to this song. If it's true, you should take your camera to class with you.

  • mr h luvs tht song

  • GREAAAAAAAAT :))

  • My favorite off The Else. :)

  • what many people dont realize is Craig adopted this song as the theme music for the show for a while. he might even still be using it. idk, i havent seen it in a while

  • One of TMBG's better recent songs. I like the "Monkees" feel of it.

  • what's with flans? why is he just singing?

  • they played this on my birthday oct 12. neat! i fear i might be the youngest tmbg fan at 18, they rule and i cant believe they still play and make music.

  • Nope. I love them, me and another friend and we are 13.

  • You're not the youngest. They make kids music too.

    Awesome performance.

  • Perhaps she's talking about the adult music, though?

I'm fourteen, and I'm going to see them in February. :p

  • hey im only 16 and have been a fan for a few years

  • ur not the youngest! i am!! :)

  • Gilgamesh Rules

  • why isn't flans playing guitar?

  • No need in this song, and DM is a better guitar player (no dis to Flans, of course.)

  • Some songs onstage hes holding his guitar but not playing through out the song, they decided not to do that here obviously

  • Yeah, there's no screw-up. The delay/pause is part of the song.

  • I'm surprised to see Linnel so much in the forefront of the performance here. Every time I've seen them live, he doesn't seem to like being the center of attention. XD

  • even better then 10 years ago!

  • Flans is usually busy rockin' out on a guitar at the same time, he musta been thrown off not holding one.

This is the first time Linnell has not looked absolutely scrawny. My Lithuanian grandmother would be proud he's put some meat on his bones!

  • He doesn't mess up! That's part of the song!

  • my favs

  • When does Flansburgh mess up?

  • poor flansy! hes adorble!

  • Lol. Flans looks so upset when he messes up.

  • LOL at Flans when he forgets the words, he's probably thinking, "Oh god I'm on national TV and I can't remember the lyrics to a song I've learned and played before."

  • I love the look on flans' face when he forgets the words.

    awesome performance

  • AWESOME!!!! *head bang*

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

Saw them in Charlottesville VA at Starr Hill Music Hall in May & am going to see them at the 9:30 club here in DC on Nov. 23rd. Best. Band. Ever.

  • I HEART THIS SONG!!!!!!!!

  • this is such a great performance!

  • best band ever

  • Thanks for posting this, I was unable to catch it when it aired. Is it just me or does Flans look like he's having a brainfart at about 2:20 singing "I thought that you were dead".

  • Haha. Yeah, it looks like he forgot the next line. It happens to the best of us. I saw Weird Al Yankovic in concert and he was singing the Saga Begins... then he suddenly blanked on a line and backed away from the mic and nodded with the beat until he could remember the next line. I felt his pain. Haha.

  • Was that at the recent Tulsa concert? I think he did it there on The Saga Begins back in July.

  • I feel for him. XD I forget the words to my own songs on occasion and boy do I end up feeling silly...

  • Awesome video, but Flansy should have been doing something besides backup singing, I think.

  • i agree. If Dan takes over the guitar permanently I'll be very upset.

  • This song just requires one guitar, so Flansy didn't have to play...

I guess Dan needed something to do... Or something. I dunno.

  • Thanks for posting this, I missed it the other night. :)

  • Thanks for posting this!

It's better live, but I definitely think they still did a really good job! Better than I'm Impressed that they did right when the CD came out.

    Yay TMBG!!!

  • john linnell is so hot. I saw them walking through the airport last week

  • i heart this song
