@datrobbie yea it all depends on a variety of factors...first it's genetics which is something that we can't control but what we can control is how well we maintain our hair and the things we eat to keep a healthy diet which is also important
@datrobbie Lol your spelling is terrible you spelled science lol don't you mean since and you in the 11th grade well 12th now if you passed or if you wasn't lying about being in the 11th with that spelling i need to know who been passing you smh -____-
how did those cornrows and french braids for you who every did that got skills its been 11 months for me next month will be a year since i been growing my hair big ups to ya homie
@romeo891 yea she really hooked me up, my boy set me up with her but ever since i haven't been able to go back to her unfortunately...and definitely big ups to you to for closing in on your year! thanks
lolz im lucky im tryna learn some stuff about hair but for the past year my hair has been growing like a half inch a month and i have no idea what im doing.
@lj19 if it's out in a afro, at this point i'm able to pull it into a ponytail. when it was shorter i just slept on it and picked it out in the morning
@crunkidy2 you have to buy a hot comb...its a metal comb that you heat up and then comb through your hair. But you have to be very careful because it's direct heat being applied to your hair
@KingDraka1 thanks...it depends on what you define as a ponytail. I've been pulling my hair back since around 8 or 9 months but I didn't consider it a ponytail. For me, I just recently reached the ponytail mark even though other people have considered my hair being ponytail length months ago...my next vid (later this month) will show what I consider a ponytail (even though I'd like it to be a bit longer personally). I think about 2 or 3 more months will really put me where I'd like to be
@KINGKINDRED Thanks man I really appreciate that. Great minds think alike because as soon as I get my hair braided I put it in a pony haha. Looking forward to your next vid!
Aye when you started growing your afro did you have a problem with the back of your hair not growing the same length as the top and sides? Is sleeping on the back of my hair making it not grow as good as the top?
Thanks ur vids r very helpful I watch em just abt everyday lol if u look up leon9492 there's a vid of me an my cuzzin playin ball it shows my fro before I cut it =/
@socaboy2009 yes, the weak hair does fall out. it's normal, everyone loses hair everyday, it just seems like a lot more for people who get braids because even though the weak hair is breaking off, it's still braided in until they take their hair out and comb through it
@JSk1lz it depends on what you consider a ponytail. For example, when I pull my hair back people consider it a ponytail but I myself don't. I started to pull my hair back after about 10 months I think, but I don't remember exactly
@StereoUk My hair is still growing at a constant rate, every time I take my braids out and get it re-braided it's noticeably longer...I'm sure it'll keep growing, everyone's hair has the potential to continue to grow if they maintain it correctly and eat healthy. I don't plan on cutting it anytime soon, and trust me, I know how important it is to get the split/damaged ends trimmed.
for almost 2 years your hair isnt that long... did u trim it or what? i started growning my hair about the same time as you and my hangtime is almost to the middle of my back like 2 or 3 inches longer than yours..
@big9j2 trimmed it 3 times, plus everyone's hair grows at different rates. just sounds like yours grows faster than mine. idk if you know of TheKingKindred on YouTube but his hair got pretty far down his back after only about 18 months.
@TheArtisticGemini ok i thought so, i was like hell no somethin is goin on here...i stay updated on your umm journey? lol and i guess i was slippin somewhere down the line but yea, i havent trimmed mines but i think i need too my ends are jacked!!! my only question would be does your hair tangle when your taking it down? mine does bad what do you use too detangle it? and do u flat iron your hair? cuz it makes a big diff when i do...
@TheArtisticGemini yea they real tight and i like that new hairstyle u got,i was wondering wen u was gone put more vidz up,i was like dang u must have been hella busy or somethig
@TheHypnotiq23 lol yup thats exactly it been extra busy with summer classes and work lately but I finish my summer term next week so I'll have a few weeks off before I start my fall term and I'll definitely be making more vids within that time frame
lol.. im gonna say this 1 more time... artistic gemini is my NI99A!!!!!!!lol.. i never realized i never subscribed to 2 u but now i did.. keep em comin
hey i finally got my hair done so i can start documenting my hair journey.. it is kind of short tho but hey it wouldnt be much of a journey if you dont start low and aim high..
so ill be updating monthly i guess as soon as i put this first video i made on here......
@TheArtisticGemini Ironically i finally make a video of the journey AFTER i cut my hair off lol. but if you want to see the vid its up now (just a slide show)
@TheArtisticGemini I have a question... Well, I keep my braids in for 4 weeks at a time... Is it bad to leave them in for long? And How long do you keep yours in and how long would you recommend someone to keep them in?
I have a question... Well, I keep my braids in for 4 weeks at a time... Is it bad to leave them in for long? And How long do you keep yours in and how long would you recommend someone to keep them in?
@JayToldEm It's really up to you and whatever you're comfortable with. some people only keep them in for 3 or 4 days and some, like you, can go a whole month. I keep mine in for 2 weeks at a time, I could easily do 2 1/2-3 (which I might eventually). but yea, if you're comfortable with 4 weeks and feel that you're able to maintain it and you see your hair progressing then by all means stick with it
@SweetBrwnSuga HA! I wish!...lol nah someone did it for me. I would LOVE to be able to braid my own hair, i've tried but cant yet. I can do flat twists though but I've only done one going straight back then took it out
dude i been keepin track of all your updates to compare where ur at to me and my hair was below my shoulders by 1 year and 6 moths wats keepin ya!? lol jk i know hair grows at diff rates and types affect that too but i recently cut it cuz i was gettin tired of it so question: when do you plan on cutting it and if not how long ur tryin to get it
@jbigga37 haha that sounds good for a year and a half. I got my hair trimmed twice in the past so it would be a bit longer than it is now (about 1-2 inches) but yea that would've been crazy if I got to shoulder length in 18 months lol. I plan on cutting it someday, just don't know when yet. I want to donate it someday but it has to be at least 10 inches
@radiokillaDB haha thanks, I'm gonna cut it eventually. idk when yet but I know it won't be for quite a while. I want to donate it someday but it has to be at least 10 inches
@CheeseJiggle HAHA thanks...and yea I can do it with 8+ if I wanted to. Lately I been getting the big french braids simply because they last the amount of time I like them to (2 weeks) and they're easy to take out. I've had this style for a week and a day now and it still looks the same.
Dang....This nigga hangtime getting long, your hair grow faster then mines that's for sure, my hair hits my back now though, took 3 years, but yea lmao
@TheArtisticGemini Yea I'm going to make a video of mines today. Hey, I meant to tell you, instead of making a new video altogether can you just change the shout-out vid and put my new youtube in the title/infobox/etc?
@anewmeePassion Thanks, I noticed that over time my hair's natural curl has become less defined compared to when it was shorter but I think it's mainly from it getting longer. But it's significantly curlier before I towel dry it. If you google anderson vearejao, my hair almost looks like his when it gets wet
@TheArtisticGemini actually, i have been drinkin a whole lot of water lately and dieting off and on, and I still don't see it growin, but I'm gonna be patient the best I can. thanx
Wow, that's a very unique style bro, never seen that one before, your doing great your hair looks like a million bucks ;), I just got mine rebraided thinking of a style before school starts up again.
@Aliun625 Thanks, I've had cornrows and french braids but never both together, I just told my new stylist to do whatever she wanted this is what she ended up doing. I thought she was just doing all cornrows but when she finished and I saw the french braids along with the cornrows I was blown away lol
dude your hair style is motherfuking dope!! i cant wait till my hair is like that.. anytime i feel like cutting and giving up i just take a look at your vids harlem i hereby DUB YOU A HAIR JOURNEY GURU!!!
@TheArtisticGemini YOU WELCOME DUDE!! BY THE WAY WHO WON YOUR GIVE AWAY? AND I CANT SEEM TO WATCH IT BECAUSE IT SAYS THE VIDEO IS PRIVATE.. WHATS UP WITH THAT?
Gemini u are KILLING it with the hair journey game! its stuff like this that makes me keep saying "i can achieve my goal, no matter what obstacles come my way." Also, I just told gershom44 this, check out the Hollywood's Beauty Olive Oil Moisturizer. Its from the same people that makes the Tea Tree Oil. It has added heat protection and scalp/shine therapy that leaves your hair feeling and looking great.
hi please i will like to know am from england did you texturize your hair to get that look or you relaxed it?? thanks

Also, I'm happy that ur gonna talk about the "ponytail" thing in ur next vid cause i've been wanting to do that but it doesn't reach in the back. =/

@Aliun625 Thanks, I've had cornrows and french braids but never both together, I just told my new stylist to do whatever she wanted this is what she ended up doing. I thought she was just doing all cornrows but when she finished and I saw the french braids along with the cornrows I was blown away lol
