I played at that show (one of the instruments you see in the vid is mine) and the surprising thing was how dead on Brian Kennedy was. When he arrived he was carrying his own luggage and even made a point of saying "Alright fellas?" Sound as a pound

The other thing I remember was when the kid they originally wanted to light the torch thing very nearly got seriously burned during the rehearsal... He was ok though

BTW the crowd you hear singing was on Kennedy's backing track, not the athletes

The crowd sings so well! Their smiling faces are so good to look at. They are special people and who can discount their worth because of low IQ. They bring special joy to others. In a way, so sad...but a happy complete video. Bravo, Brian Kennedy for coming to special olympics.

Personally, I like the Josh Groban version better, I can sing in Groban's range, so I might be biased, but I feel as if this version sounds a bit like Kermit the Frog... Just my opinion.
