@barlover636 what harms has capitalism caused? any argument you come up with will be a result of corporatism and government, not capitalism. i agree that the US is a corporatist country, which is why we have so many problems. medicare is a not really a blessing, the reason why her medicine is so expensive is because of medicare. since the government is guaranteeing payments, there is no incentive to keep prices low. same goes with any government guaranteed loan (student loans for example)

@bapyou there is hardly any competition in the health insurance industry. companies are not allowed to sell across state lines which effectively creates 50 monopolies. also, because of the structure of our tax code third party payers are over used as it is cheaper for employers to compensate workers with health care instead of real wages. ppl do not choose their jobs based on what their insurance plan is. you are more than welcome to leave the US and try any number of failed socialist states
