Well dutchesqueen, Whats your point ?can you also explain all the other wonders of the quran? Just except it , what this man is telling is nothing but the trued
You said: "it does not say anywhere in the quranic verse that the moon's light is reflected or borrowed". To be able to understand the verse you have to know what noor or moniran means. you said that that means a subject which is lit. if you mean lit but without any light of its own, then you r right, if you say lit meaning having its own light, you i'm sorry to tell you that you go and study arabic. another thing, i dont have to go to the translation of the Quran if i know arabic, its likt me
telling you that the english word heaven means the sky above, and you then argue with by saying no it means, the place where good people will go if they are rightheous, contrary to Hell. So brother, if you want to understand Quran, dont just produce arguments by just reading the verse, because as you know an arabic word can mean something else then that you thought.. if you dont believe me after this, i challenge you to go ask the people who know the arabic language.
second of all moniran can mean something has a self generating light or its light is from somewhere else.. but if something is moniran it means it has light. the point im making here is that the verse DOES NOT SPECIFY that the moon's light is borrowed or reflected. this is where dr zakir put words in the qurans mouth and said that its borrowed when CLEARLY the english translation of says that it was a luminous moon in the sky.
My apologies Sister, it was not on purpose. I suppose you know arabic, if you read the arabic volume of the commentary of the well known Ibno Kathier, you would read the following about the moon in verse 61 of For9aan: "mochri9an moniran binorin akhar". that to say this in another word, it means burrowd light or reflected light. seconf of all, did you know that translation can be wrong, the language of the Quran is perfect, so why do you need a translation if you already have the original lang.
also jarmen , lets say the quran said that the moon did have a borrowed light .. the quran doesnt say that the light was borrowed from the sun! all the verse 25:61 is saying is that there is a luminous moon in the sky .. with no specifications what so ever . dr zakir is a liar and moniran in arabic means something that has light . if you look at your light bulb at home . you would say that the light bulb gives noor or is moneeran .. and it gives its OWN light and not reflected light
First, you argued about the light of the moon and saying it has its own light and now, you want the Quran to also say specifically it burrows its light from the sun. Sorry sister to tell you that your arabic is weak by not knowing what noor/monier really means.
jarmen , if you truly were a fair and unbiased person .. you would see that dr zakir naik lied to all of us about the verses in the quran. show me where in surah furqan 25:61 does it say that the moon had aborrowed or reflected light? please show me where !
I will insha Allah, if you read Surah Furqaan 25 v61 in arabic it reads: "Tabaraka Alladi ja'ala fissama'i borojan waja'ala fiha sirajan wa qamaran monira". the wordt monira means a subject which has burrowed light or reflected light.
Actually i'm arabic, and actually you dont know arabic, if you did you would know that a light giving subject is called sirajan, misba7an... and monieran, noran.. means that the subject does not have its own light.
yes jarmen you said it yourself.. moniran means light giving subject.. but then you went on to say that this means the subject does not have its own light. you kind of screwed yourself there because moniran does mean that the subject gives out light but that does not mean in any way that the subject's light is a borrowed light!
No, i never said that. why do you put words in my mouth, read all the comments, i never said that nour or moniran has its own light, i said sirajan has its own light, and moniran is a subject with a reflected or burrowed light. being able to speak or understand arabic does not mean that you master the language, remember that mate..
yes. sirajan has its own light ..but moniran means something that is lit. it does not say anywhere in the quranic verse that the moon's light is reflected or borrowed. you are a liar just like zakir
I never said that the translation if the word of God, the translation is the work of men. they can make mistakes. I can also give you plenty of errors made by translators of the Quran. And arabic word has many meanings, if a translator uses one, he/she can be wrong.
[Surah Anbiya 21:30]Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?
[Furqan 25:61] Most Auspicious is He Who created lofty towers in the sky and placed a lamp in it, and the luminous moon.
Either of those things could be taken to mean anything.
Why are you trying to find something else for the meaning, if the man tells you it means this or that, take it as it is. but you are trying to do your best to find some conflict with the Koran, none secceeded in the past 1400 years, and you to will not be able. so my advice, is to go read the Koran and find the truth in it. Peace
nebula? the big bang refutes any personal god. Why support the big bang? If you support the big bang the rest of Islam is cast aside INSTANTLY. Islam is a creationist dogma, the vast majority of creationists are Islamic. INCOMPATIBLE with the big bang. Anyone can reinterpret verses of the bible... the shape of the earth is not shaped like an ostrich egg... the sun is NOT STATIONARY!!!!!! Everything in our galaxy is moving tens of thousands of km an hour... he also mentions walking trees...
Hi, Islam and Quran does not have any problems with the big bang at all, but we also say that the human is not evaluated. second what does bible have to do with this, the gentle is talking about the Quran and about the verses that are agreed upon. so where is the problem.
Quran 27:18, tells the story of a talking ant in the time of King Solomon. Ants do not communicates with words, but with scent and smell, etc. This is a scientific error, regarding nature. so if mention of random scientific knowledge in the qur'an is proof of god's existence. what does this mean?. why would the creator provide us with false information of how the "machine" i.e. our world works?
Actually you are false, and either its you slow mind or something else, the ants do communicate in their own way, whatever it may be. Soleiman "pbuh" understands the language of the animals, thus he did understand what the ant is saying. and Allah told us what the ant said so we can come to know that. again weak and rather disapointing argument.

The meaning of luminous: "full of or shedding light, or shining in the dark". does is say that it has its own light?
