  • Happen me last night I taut there were huge spiders in my room. Scary

  • I am up watching this at 3:46 am because i just had an episode quite similar.

    I hate it!

  • i just had one, its my 4th one in a while and my mom said its the devil because i dont go to church

  • @MAETHCOMBAT Your Mom is retarded I'm sure their is a logical reason to it. Not some stupid religious reason.

  • @amazed2341 yes there is a logical reason the next day was my certificate exams and yes my Mom is retarded i was hurt by what she and has not yet apologize after she realized i was just stressed out because of my exams guess she thought what she said was right, religion truly brings out the worse of us and in those we love

  • for me its always the same vague understanding of the world coming to an end. there is more to it but i can never remember

  • i still have these some times..

  • Waked up adrenaline upping, I know the feeling. Once I felt like I was on fucking IWA JIMA. Bombs exploding next to, I became conscious thirty feet from my bed dripping in sweat laying prone.

  • Thanks for posting this, know your not alone.

  • Now I have something to show people. Thanks for posting this and good luck to you.

  • Wow. I get night terrors, and it's really frightening for me to see this from the other side, so to speak, to see how frightening this must be for my partner. I wake up screaming and yelling frequently, get up and run into the closet sometimes, and break things in the bedroom by hitting it with pillows. My mom just recently asked me if I thought I would ever stab someone or something from a night terror, or jump out a window. All I can say is that I hope not.

  • I get night terrors and they scare the shit out of me. It freaks me out that I get out of bed. I've turned the light on (I know this cuz when I wake up in the morning my light is on), almost gone in my closet (left the door open), got lost in my friends garage in the dark and was scared to death especially when I woke up cuz I didn't know where I was, last night I saw an predator looking thing (like in the movie) in my room... how do I stop these?!

  • If you kill somebody e.g. with a knife while in this stage, would you go to prison?

  • @jednoucelovy that's a good question, I think as long as u were diagnosed with nite terrors and u were lucky enough to have a witness that could vouch for u then I think those two things would prevent you from going to prison

  • NT's are horrible things, I usually 'wake up' (or I think I do, my partner says I'm still asleep) I sit up and look around the room, it's weird cause I see everything just like if I Was awake, then Whatever it is (Once it was this horse made from metal that I saw in someones yard a few days before) attacks me & I start trying to get away from it & screaming at the top of my lungs. I have gotten out of bed, I have hurt myself & others, all while in the throes of an attack of NT's.

  • i woke up like this just the other night. I was in a dreamless sleep when a sound woke me. it resembled something a gremlin would make and i sat up thinking WTF? and i thought i saw something on the floor, and then i saw my bedroom door start to close, and then i started screaming bloody murder, somehow ending up on my hands/knees crawling down the hallway. it didnt even feel like it was really happening. i've never been diagnosed with night terrors, but its possible thats what it may be for me.

  • I do almost the exact same thing almost every night , What medication do you take? Ive never seen a doctor about it , after watchin the vids on here i think i should

  • Dude that happened to me when I was 12 n after I fell asleep I felt as if I were still awake n I saw kids that looked a bit ghostly around my bed n they kept saying hi 2 me n I said hi but I couldn't say it rite n I couldn't breath then I tried screaming for my mom n I noticed I could hear myself after I screamed n I cracked open n pulled myself together

  • When I was 12-13 I used to have them so badly. I would wake up and all I remember is a feeling as if I were about to be killed. Its impossible to put in to words as I have an image in my head of what set them off. I would scream running round the house in utter fear for my life, and after about 10 mintues I would break down in tears which would be the end of it and realisation of what had happened. I through my stereo on the floor :( For a while all I wanted to do was to be out cos of the feelin

  • Ephesians 6:12

  • this is the same thing that i do. i dont have them alot.. only a few times a month. x

  • It goes away once you get old(ex:A 12 yr. old will have more night terrors than a 67 yr. old.)

  • @SteamMonkey115

I'm 24 now and I still have these episodes. Sometimes several in one night.

  • @Autobaum Do you have anyone else to supervise you in a Nightterror?

If you find out what time the night terror happens you can set an alarm 30 min. before a night terror and stay up for an hour or so then go back to sleep. I think it should reduce the night terrors beacuase night terrors acure at deep REM sleep

  • @SteamMonkey115

No I live alone atm. When I lived at home my mother used to stop me and the best way to calm me was to say that the things had vanished. Got calm within seconds if I heard that. Now last night I had atleast three episodes that I can remember. Black shades of snakes in my bed every time. Atleast the second time I tried really hard to convince myself that it wasn't real. And that was extremely difficult.

  • @SteamMonkey115

Oh and thay seem to be quite sporadicly so I don't know if that will work and it's been quite some time since I had a night terror. Until now then. I know it is realted to stress in my case so aslong as I don't jack myself up over something I can avoid these episodes.

  • @Autobaum Do you have a cycle of Night Terrors? ( ex: night terror start at 2:12 am and end at 2:31 am )

  • @SteamMonkey115

I'm 24 now and I still have these episodes. Sometimes several in one night.

  • i scream obscenities at the top of my lungs when i have them, i go to a christian college too so when it first started happening my roommates were very offended.

  • a blancket aint going to help mate. 1 2 freddies coming for you 3 4 hes gona walk through your door 5 6 just offer him a bowl of weatabix 7 8 he will leave you in a state 9 10 im only kidden!

  • Sometimes I just wake up screaming and feel like someones holding onto me and then I start to get a fast heartbeat and panic but I don't really have control over it

  • @Crazyboy12346 this just happened to me for the first time this morning, it felt like someone was holding on to me and I woke up screaming with my mom and grandmother looking over me. It was a very bad experience, I still hsvent went back to sleep.

  • Oh wow. That indeed sounds horrifying. Do you know what they looked like, those around your bed?

  • Imagine being buried alive, flanked by demons, a horrible ringing pulsing in your ears, and all the happiness and love you've ever known shrinking away as it's being drawn out of your body through your eyes and mouth..

Now imagine that happening every night when you go to sleep.

  • This is exactly what night terrors are like. They are not a fun exciting thing like a scary movie. They are like you are afraid for your life and can be violent and dangerous.

  • When I first started driving a semi truck I used to think I was driving in my sleep

And went into my bunk while I was driving and I would wake up scared as he'll run to the front and grab the steering wheel and slam my breaks not really a night terror but funny as hell when I realized what was going on.

  • ????????????

  • I usually have minor hallucinations like spiders on my bed, but last night I saw what looked like a dark shape of someone walking across my room while holding a little flashlight. It went out of my view and I sat there for like 5 minutes before I worked up the nerve to turn around, of course nothing was there. Weird.

  • Night terrors suck. Mine occur in cycles and I am going through a cycle now. I have anywhere from one to four night terrors each night. It is so exhausting. My husband has to come in and save me from, well..myself. I scream, run around, and try to even get out of the house.

  • @gooddl1 If I were your husband I would sleep in the same bed like I do with my girl friend she doesn't have night terrors but I hold her all night long so if she tried to run away I would just hold her and tell her who I was and that everything was ok.

  • This is almost exactly what I experienced last night. It was genuinely terrifying.

I thought there were two people stood at the end of my bed which doesn't sound scary but I was screaming in sheer terror before I could comprehend what was going on. I'd even thrown a pillow in a lame attempt to get rid of them!

I had been asleep for about 30 - 40 minutes and had drank a couple of pints at the pub earlier which apparently makes these more likely.

  • @MHbher that's drunk dreaming.

  • It's nice to feel that I'm not alone my parents keep telling everybody but I get. Embarassed

  • Ii have night terrors and when it happens to me , I get one sense: run to the nearest person so I run into walls because my mind makes me sware uncontrolably in these terrors but when I get to a spot with people I snap out of it

  • I regularly used to have night terrors as well I am an 11 year old boy but if I have no total darkness or maybe a little lightwhen I'm sleeping it helps a lot because recently I haven't experienced any lately but that raps it up

  • @Crazyboy12346 wraps* and um that's a nightmare and don't say your a 11 year old boy child. That's like me annoucing being a 12 year old boy it's just strange and not very safe.

  • I go thru sleep paralysis like once in 2 weeks. Its not scary if u think . Because u panic and ur mind starts creating these strange things. Just close ur eyes and sleep. U might wake up 3 or 4 times just try to get back to the sleep. And the dream u se is awesom because u know that u r dreaming.

  • @TheHartmanis

Sleep paralysis is slightly different from a night terror. some people CAN'T go back to sleep after one. I know that's my problem. I'm too shaken up. and when you're having a night terror, it's not REGISTERING to you at the time that it's just your mind playing tricks on you. you are genuinely terrified and you can become violent. i have struck my mother before when she woke me from one. it's NOT a dream.

  • Ive ended up in hospital from my night terrors from running through a window. Also ran through doors and walls and knocked people flying. Very scary, especially since im a full grown man.

  • Hi, just wanted to say i experience the same thing,

happens now and again these days, seeing of feeling great fear like no other.

i have never felt fear like it in my life, im 19 and when i get back into bed my heart is racing like crazy, i feel so embarrassed when my mam talks about it to other people its like there's somethin wrong with me.

I'm currently in the process of deciding whether or not to go to my doctor about it to try get help for it.

Its nice to know im not the only one!

  • OMG now I know what my siblings hear in the middle of the night. I used to think it's funny but now I feel bad for them. They say it's terrifying and their heart pounds for the rest of the night.

  • I don't know why this happens to me and others, but it's a fact that it's more terrifying than anything I have ever experienced. I get visions of a Robed Female standing over me, can't move, buzzing sensation,I can recall quite clearly once I can move again and I cannot get to sleep again. Lucky for me it has happened only 3 times in 15 years.

  • @MrROTD Sounds more like sleep paralysis

  • have you ever gone through sleep paralysis? i have,, and it is truly terrifying,, ((its actually about every week for me that it occurs)

  • This One is Very Calm once i had night terror when i was screaming and broke glass door and i had been cut in a lot of body places.and i didn't remembered what happened i wake up in bath room and i saw a lot of blood.

Is there anyway to stop this? i mean if i leave light on in room will that help?

  • Comment removed

  • you dont do this after "dreams" night terrors have nothing to do with a dream state.

  • I do the same thing! Idk if its just regular nightmares or night terrors. 2yrs ago my life changed and then out of nowhere I started waking up running down the hall screaming, as if someone was chasing me...i dont even knw if i was woke i just remember always the running and screaming but never why im doing it. The police were called once u knw my neighbors got tired of hearing that early in the morning...

  • Holy crap, thats almost exactly what I do sometimes. It's usually after a dream that I'm traped in something or in a vehicle that I should be controlling but aren't / can't. Sheer panic ensues. I'll scratch or goluge my way through anything to get out or get in control. I'm dangerous to sleep next to.

  • i useto get night terrors as a kid..last one i had i was 11 i think.. 90% of the time..the same dream..slowly falling into a black abyss..can't see anything above or below but black..and trying to claw at bubles to get a foothold which of course never worked... i think its possible this could be a past life death memory as strange as it sounds...yours to me sounds like it could be too......just something to think about.

  • @CJDHmt Thats not a night terror

  • @DixonJonny oh they would have been classified as one...the extreme feeling of panic like your dying ..the screaming.. mom not being able to calm me down (or so i'm told..never remembered those parts of course lol) as a kid got them 3 to 4 times a week.. i prob made it sound like a bad nightmare but nup, trust me, they were night terrors...

  • @CJDHmt

Yeh your right i wrongly diagnosed my self, i only get NT's occasionally but i get really bad hypnopompic hallucinations.

Personally i think they are linked if not the same because most people who jump out of bed are seeing things in their rooms wich is ... hypnopompic hallucinations.

  • @DixonJonny sure sounds like they could be.. hope they start to ease up for ya xxx

  • I'm 18 years old, and I've been having night terrors for about 1-2 years.

Sometimes I can't remember it, I just wake myself up by screaming. Most of the time, I can see a dark outline of a person standing in my room and it completely freaks me out.

After about 30 seconds, I wake up properly, think 'WTF?', turn the light on, then off, then I go back to sleep!

  • These suck, being in the Army have only made mine worse...ive been told by my ex gf that I once woke up in the middle of the night and started strangling her...then went to sleep again.

  • when I get stressed I have NT. Most of the time I'm screaming my lungs out, or running around smashing things while screaming. Can't say for sure, this is what my mom told me.

  • this video really fucked with me because my NT's are exactly like yours albeit spiders and not monsters. I will wake up screaming just like that and run like hell out of my room. I need to show this video to my family so they can have a glimpse of my own personal hell, they just don't understand no matter how hard I try to convey it.

  • I used to have night terrors but they put me on an anti-psychotic that keeps me from having them, these were EXACTLY like mine... I would sit up in bed and be breathing really hard, eyes open, and scream three times...once I ran outside the front door of my apartment... I don't ever remember what the dreams are about though...

  • I used to have terrible night terrors as a teenager. I would feel awake and conscious, but I wasn't. I would see small demonic creatures crawling over my bed sheets some times. I get extremely violent during night terrors and attack whatever s disturbing me. I almost killed my dog. Threw him across the room.

  • Lol I once had a NT while sleeping in a Camper with two guys I work with, during a work week with the US FS... yeah I had forgot to warn them and gave them a horrible scare when I began screaming and jumping around. Damn night spiders...

  • I've had a night terror where ive woken up in the morning in broad daylight on the top of my bunk bed to find a anime person standing next 2 my bed...i couldnt see their face because they weren't that tall but i saw their hair and i stared for a while then went back to sleep for i was quite sleepy.

  • that was......AWESOME

  • OMG! I forgot all about this video! HAHAHA! Thanks for reminding me about it. =(

  • I've actually started having night terrors a month or so ago and I'm 18. :l. My Mom told me she heard me screaming and punching the wall and when she came in, she said I was laying on my back and screaming something like "he raped me" and continued screaming for 10 minutes until I woke up.

  • Very, VERY rarely I'll have these. Last one I had was a few years ago. I saw a spider the size of a cereal box on my chest. I yelped and slapped the shit out of myself trying to get it off and then I snapped out of it and it was morning, just like the terror showed. My cat was in the room and was staring at me with a cute "Wtf?" look, which comforted me.

Another one was when I saw a burglar. He pulled a knife and threw it at me. Screamed at the top of my lungs. Don't remember the rest.

  • Im new to the club. About a month ago i woke up thinking a snake was thrown in my bed. I shot up, jumped out of my bed and threw the blankets on the ground. I thought it was a one time thing. Last night I woke up screaming bloody murder. I ran to my bedroom door and i broke the handle, locking myself in. I woke my mom and my two little sisters. Plus my throat hurt and i couldn't fall for a few hours. I can't imagine what i will do if this happens more and more over time.

  • If I ever go back to school and advance my psychology degree, I'd like to do psychological research on subjects with sleeping problems, or just study sleep in general. There's a lot of information there that just hasn't been looked at.

  • I always think that dogs are attacking me. Ill be dreaming and all of the sudden a dog will just come out of nowhere and bite me. All of the sudden im in my room and still think theres a dog.

  • im 19 and spiders do it for me aswell. had one last night cos i had an exam today and nearly all the time you think your heart is about to burst out of your chest. wake up sometimes too with cut knuckles or legs. It sucks

  • Same here dude, snakes too. I woke up like 6 times the other night thinking there were spiders in my bed. I always rip the sheets off and look. My mom goes to this accupuncture woman and she says she can treat me in 2 treatments. I guess they put really thing needles in your spleed for a bit and it works. She claims to have cured a lot of people. Also I heard massaging the webbing of your feet 3 times a day works too! Its so embarassing having them. I always think of me being married with em

  • Don't worry about being married with them. My husband has them and if anything I want to help him. It won't bother your partner.

  • Cool, thanks. Im going to get the accupuncture treatments for the first time this week. Ill let you know if it works if you're interested.

  • Yr not alone. I'm 36 & still get them. I think its mostly down to anxiety (I'm a bus driver so that explains a lot). My worst one, everything in my room was covered in spiders + I couldn't open my bedroom door so I smashed my way through it & my folks not impressed at the time! I frequently wake up fully clothed outside my flat (GFF thank god) and wonder what the f*** im doing there. Medication doesn't work, nor does hypnotherapy. Best way is for partner to wake you 90 mins after bedtime. Loz :)

  • I had long violent night terrors from like age 9 to 14. extremely violent. Always remember the feeling of being chased. I still have them like once every 4 months or so (im now 26) but they only like like 20 seconds and im more scared than violent anymore. (i can always tell the difference... even though some might argue theyre bad dreams or sleepwalking at this point... no way.. there must be a neuro chemical release or something... because you know a night terror when you have one)

  • this happens when i get stressed or dont sleep for a day. I really hope i dont get them at boot camp

  • i get them regualary. also see things creatures objects tyring to attack me! i scream for my life an also tend to leave my room for the bathroom or parents room, then eventualy i relise an wake up, sept frmt he last 2 occassions i had one, an woke up an i had both my windows open an i was standing there ready to jump! thank god i woke.

  • Wow.

I wake up screaming and kicking, but I don't remember anything. I'm really glad I don't see anything, that would scare the crap out of me!

I'm sorry you have to go through this! :(

  • and I thought I was the only one that did this stuff....scary as hell isnt it...your heart pounds!!!

  • I had one last night, that's why I'm watching this. I woke up screaming (seeing a little girl staring at me), turned on the light and then went to get a glass of milk. I had no problem sleeping after that.

  • I get them too, but I almost never remember them, the wife has to fill me in. Sometimes the stories are pretty funny, other times...not so much. What I don't get is that I'm often (apparently) reacting terrified of things during a night terror that don't scare me. For example, I'm told I'll jump up screaming and running from spiders...which makes sense if I'm having a nightmare, except I'm not scare of spiders.

  • Oh wow, this is something, I remember when I was younger and my family was vacationing at a trailer park up north, my stepdad's son was sleeping in the same room. I woke up just before dawn to hear him screaming and cussing in his sleep. He was also punching the air. I was afraid he was going to fall off the top bunk just opposite of me.

I've had bad nightmares and still do but nothing like this.

Excuse my ignorance but what is the difference between a nightmare and a night terror?

  • The main difference between a nightmare and a night terror is the stage of sleep that each of them occur at. Nightmares happen during REM sleep which means that the person is more easily reconcilable. Nightmares are simply an unpleasant dream. Night terrors occur during SWS sleep, which is a much deeper sleep in which people when awakened are very disoriented and often times irreconcilable. Thanks for asking by the way, this is helping me study for my test tomorrow.

  • Thanks for replying. I don't suffer from these and I feel kinda bad for this guy. I know it's more prevelant in children and teenagers, particularly males for some reason. So are you in high school or college? I'm in college right now at age 28. Not sure what career I want to get into but I am thinking meteorology, if not, psychology is my next bet.

I have Asperger's Syndrome and have a high imagination so I am more prone to nightmares and weird dreams.

    Good luck on your test!

  • Hope your test went well. Do you know what part of the brain they start in? My guess is that it starts in the amygdala and occurs when the cortex is inactive (such as in SWS) and stops once I am able to gain some conciousness and to rationally control my fear. (It kind of feels like a reflex when it occurs.) But I'm an engineer not a doctor. :)

  • Thats pretty much me everynight to, yep.... Have you ever had them speak to you before?

  • Nope - never had any talking or anything logical. Its pretty much raw fear emotion

  • Yea i totally understand that, I've only had a few that has talked to me. Told me things i didn't really know why. One said "if you wont choose, I'll choose for you" and that jsut left me wondering what i had to choose lol. I was wondering how old are you?

  • @gpt1984 Dreaming about my girl friend cheating on me was a hell of alot more than just unpleasant.

  • when i have night terrors i wake up screaming and yelling "Are you trying to kill me!!" it sucks and it is not even close to nightmares

  • I have NT's too. My worst was when I was 14. I was screaming in my bed and when my dad tried to grab me to wake me up I punched him and ran screaming out of the room and smack into our front door. when I woke up the next morning my knees were bloody and my wrist was hurting. my mom thought I broke it But the doctor said I was fine

  • I've had night terrors since I was a little girl. My worse episode was when I was 24 yrs old. I clawed a hole through my bedroom screen and jumped out. It happened so quickly that my husband slept right through it. I found myself on my front yard in my panties. I woke up and realized what I had done. I found a lawn chair and climbed back into my room. The next morning we were lying in bed and I pointed the screen out. My stomach was all scraped up and bloody from passing through the screen.

  • omg im srry this happened ur video scared the crap outta me lol one of my close friends (girl) she use to have night terrors but not anymore. it was weird stuff too but hopefully she wont have em anymore and if she does ill b there for her. is it an ok thing to try to calm the person down while this is happening? and i actually wanted to have a night terror but I dont think i do any more seems wayyyyy to scary for me to enjoy for excitement and thrilling.

  • I punched and kicked my brother once when he tried to comfort me in the middle of a night terror. So I'm not sure if it is a good idea - they usually end pretty quick though.

  • @ArthuriusRex If it was my baby (my girl friend not my actual baby I don't have a baby either) I would care if she punched me I would just hold her and make her feel better, sucks if it's the guy cause I can over power her if she is freaking out but the girl ussually can't.

  • People have tried to stop me, but most the times it doesn't work. I had my father once tell me that something wasn't there. But in my eyes it was, so i didn't believe him. Really depends on how the person reacts, if its anything like arthurius then i would watch out. Me on the other hand, i know everyone so i dont hurt them. Just watch it with who your trying to help.

  • Hope you get better mate, im fortunate that i dont have NT.

  • Got my cam-corder to work again. I've been recording myself for the past two weeks. I have no recollection of having a night terror - but the camera shows some sort of parasomnia activity every other day. One curious result is that when I exercise that day - I have a night terror WITHOUT exception. (Think that exercise induces more deep sleep)

I'm going to try stabilizing my sleep schedule and drying different doses of clonazapem (0 - .5mg - 1mg) to see what difference those make.

  • whats this i dont get it yeah i have nightmares and i just put on disney channel and its all good but is this related to sleep paralalysis shit thats scarier u cant even move to fight back but here u can swing and box and shit try fighting a demon when ur body is paralized more frightening !!!! ul shit ur pants...

  • At what point during the night do yours usually occur? Mine often happen within the first 45 min and can be as violent as the one you just posted.

  • Anywhere from 35 to 80 minutes after falling to sleep

  • I used to do the same thing. Whew..I really put my family through some shit.

This is my cure, I don't know if it would help anyone else.

I have to sleep with noise or something playing. Tv, radio, Old Time Radio. It's best if it times out, like a sleep timer or using Winamp with on OTR show or Podcast.

I'm tellin' ya, it definitely works for me.

I think it has something to do with sensory deprivation. Really, try it. Your room was so quiet it kinda scared me.

  • My night terrors are just like this, one night I started screaming, and jumped up and started punching the closet door constantly

  • The worst I did is that 7 years ago when the bed wa right by a window - I puched through the window and jumped out of the window - 2 stories. Only to wake up outside on a punch of garbage bags. I got a bloody hand and scared the crap out of my dad and brother - what I a wake up call!

  • My husband's night terrors are just like this, except normally worse. I read your post on the forum and I can't even imagine how frightening that is. Do you not like the side effects of the clonazapem, or did you just want to run a "trial" that night?

  • my boyfriend scared the crap out of me when started screaming at me with his eyes open. I'm still freaked out and it has been a couple of days. Has this happened to you, when he doesn't recognize you and starts screaming at you?

  • Well once a shared a bed with my brother 7 years ago (before taking clonazapem.) I had an episode and I actually physically attacked my brother by kicking him and yelling at him. When I had a steady girlfriend 3 years ago, I didn't have any problems sleeping with her - but then again I was taking 2 mg of clonazapem and was a walking zombie in the day.

  • My husband's night terrors are just like this, except normally worse. I read your post on the forum and I can't even imagine how frightening that is. Do you not like the side effects of the clonazapem, or did you just want to run a "trial" that night?

  • Looks like my camera broke - else I would love to tape myself on medication (Clonazapem), a year later

  • To livvy177, that's called sleep paralyisis, look it up.

  • k something scary happens to me some nights and i dont know what it is. its not a nightmare or a night terror really. i just hear and feel things that arent real and i cant open my eyes or move at all. does anyone know what that is?

  • That happens to me at least it used to I would be sleeping and I would like see something weird like someone else staring at me I can't explain it but I would wake up and I would feel like I was moving really slow and then I would feel really sick and sometimes I would have to thrwo up. I'm 19 now and I havent gotten them since I was like 11.

  • I have a friend whose daughter used to have NTs. She'd come downstairs screaming and crying and although her eyes were open, they were glazed over and she was clearly asleep. We'd gently guide her back to bed and the next mornign she wouldn't remember a thing. I think she was 5 and 6 at the time.

  • lol

  • We should all videotape ourselves and make a channel. I have a few roommates and its so hilarious to see their faces after I've sat down for about five minutes and gotten my breath back. I used to be able to remember them, but I am not able to so much when they happen any more. I can also guess if I will be having a night terror on most nights because of how stressed out I am. A few other factors go into my guessing, but I am usually right.

  • why am i wacth this and im about to go to bed

  • Ok is it considered parasomnia when you seem like you're awake, but when you move you loop back in bed. then when you finally leave your room something scary appears. And when you wake up you don't scream or bolt out of bed but flinch or raise your body in the sitting position. Is it still a night terror?

  • Classic Night Terror

  • hallucinations+extreme fear=portal to hell in your own room

  • its good to see someone go through the same thing i do..thats scary as shit i know how you feel trust me i beat tha hell out of my boyfriend the other night trying to get away form the man i see at the end of my bed ..

  • I'm a female also and what I usually see is a man in my room. He may not even be doing anything, just standing there looking at me. I don't recognize him, but man, that feeling of being invaded upon is soooooo scary! I notice it happens more if I eat before bed, so I try to go to bed with little to no food in my stomach.

  • Exactly what happens to me, after seizures when I come to I start doing this, seeing paramedics and police as demons and start attacking until they have to tie me down and knock me out.

  • mine are the same (but the female version), short ,loud ,bloody murder, screams.

some how found comfort in this video. i guess i dont feel like such a freak.

  • Thank you for sharing this. I've been a lifelong sufferer as well, with some really active and some less active periods. This video makes me appreciate my boyfriend's patience and love even more, I cant believe how scary is must be for him.

  • I think anyone who suffers from Night Terrors can relate to your video. It varies with the occasion, most times I won't scream, instead I'll just go bolting out the room or jump up and fumble around in the dark knocking things over. Other times they're bad ones when that "Terror" really sets in... Luckily they're few and far between, at least what I can remember.

  • yeah night terrors freaked me out, i couldnt move or scream i was only sweating, somtimes it would seem like im blind, i cried like so loud.

  • i have Night Terrors and they suck u dont remember what made u scared

  • I have these as well. Scared my girlfriend shitless. Oops.

  • Thanks for the vid

I have some same experiences 2!

But wow...That screaming is really frightenin!

Now i can understand why my mum gets mad when I do that...Thanks again

  • Read about your posting on the NT board. So this is what we sound like? I've had them when my pre-teen kids had a friend over for the night. No wonder they look at me so strangely the next morning. Hang in there- hope you find out what your triggers are so you can manage them :)

  • damn something like this happened to me recently. I ran out of my room screaming. I think i remember a big spider coming down from my ceiling and thats what was scaring me... idk.

  • I get those too... I saw myself there. I've used a blanket for a weapon and protection. Also ran to the bathroom. It's so scary.

  • Thank you for this, I think. I've suffered what I've called "really bad nightmares" often waking my husband while screaming. No wonder I scare him death; you just scared me bad. This morning I decided to look up NT cuz I couldn't remember the difference and last night was TERRIBLE.

  • freaky. i have night terrors too. ive never seen one filmed before!
