I live here too, didn't do my check out dive here(went to Orange Beach)-but this is a great scuba park! It used to be an old clay pit when I was a kid,they changed the pH somehow and now have all sort of fish and flora,and cool sites to dive. Check it out! Not like Mexico for sure,but not bad at all.

I have been diving in oronogo! It's cold! Athens is shallow and is cloudy when the silt is stirred up. Otherwise it;s about 20 foot visibility.

I did my checkout there too... lot of fun and plenty of stuff to keep you busy!!! Since then I hav done wreck diving on the east coast and reef in the Keys!!!

i did my checkout dive in athens and personally i think its one of the best diving sites ever! except for mexico,of course.
