  • Awesome! Thanks for sharing this great video of the incomprable Buddy Tate. In the band scene I notice Harry Sweets Edison on trumpet and Joe Jones on drums two fantastic giants on their respective instruments.

  • at minute 2:20 buddy plays a rift id love to know the name of that tune.iv recently discovered mr tate and strange fact iv worked for the past 5 years in a space formaly know as the celebrity club and was facinated to find that one of jazzs greats worked in the same space as i maybe had a smoke in the same doorway as me kinda cool

  • @ericthemovieguy - the riff that begins around 2:20 (starts around 2:07 actually) is from "Harlem Nocturne". My favorite versions are from Illinois Jacquet & Willis Jackson.

  • It's good to a "senior" jazz musician surviving their time period.

  • Viva Buddy!

  • so Budy you are always one of the best sincerely Pat. from france !!!!

  • tell it like it is, buddy.

    YEAH!

  • "It's all I have ever done and just about all I know to do".George Holmes Buddy Tate.
