I thought so at one time. Then, life and a new family happened.
I have a few of my new paintings displayed at altonsoilpaintings.blogspot.com. I took a couple of DVD courses by Daniel Edmondson that really helped me to get back into painting. I am now looking for more of the courses that I need to improve on my weaker skills.
I have to be particular of what I am going to get in the courses. It would be great to be half as good as you.
My thanks to you and all of the other artists online.
Thank you for going through the effort of making this, i really enjoyed it and learnt alot. I am curious though, how much referancing do you do? i.e. for the textures of the broken/fallen rock, the cloud formation etc. Or is that all out of your head?
i am glad you liked my video. i do use images online or make mental notes as i walk around outside. for this painting i did not use any ref images. the clouds painted very easily, but sometimes the clouds are tough to paint
and i need to use images and for rock textures i have painted for so long i just imagine the texture and forms.
I was out of painting for 25 years or so.
I really appreciate all of the artists that post videos. Especially yours. I hope that
there are or will be more. As I said, I need to improve. I seem to be picking up the
skills fairly easy. I'm not trying anything too difficult yet. Not without a master painter, such as you, to learn from.
I am looking for instruction if you have any suggestions, please help.
Thank you for your time. and fantastic video.

Thank you! This is one of the most imaginative and unusual paintings that I have had the pleasure to view. It's what dreams are made of.
I really enjoyed the experience of watching the parts come together.
And the next time, listen to the cat and don't cause it to block the camera so that it can get your attention enough to correct you.

Saw the painting at your art show Dan - it's one of my favourite pieces.
