awww. omg. this video made me cry. this was my first time seeing a water birth and you all did an amazing job. i' so glad i witnessed this video. ty & congrats w/ your lil bobbin. you have a great fam.
I'm only 17 an I already know I want to be a waterbirth momma. Ive seen things in hospitals that are frightening and this just makes me feel so calm! So beautiful
The reasons for giving birth out of the hospital are enormous! Positive birth experiences in the hospital is becoming very rare. These days it is far more common to hear stories of Mommas whose births were tramatizing, almost 50% of mommas are having their bodies sliced open and babies cut out of them! They leave feeling betrayed by the system, mistreated, disrespected, violated, and ashamed. Having given birth in the hospital system and now at home what do you know now that you didn't before?
So nice to watch :) I am trying that in April 2010- my first baby. You cannot imagine how much my boyfriend and I need stand up against friends and family's narrow minded views on home birth. I hope all moms consider giving it a chance at some point.
@littlecookie1010 Thanks! we had our daughter on April 30 2011. As soon as the family saw we decided to do a water birth, they were fine with it.
My daughter was 8 lbs. 10 days overdue. I had pre-labour pains for 10 days, due to a car accident on my due date. Labored on the toilet because water slowed contractions. Gave birth in the pool on all fours too! No tears. I breast fed her right away, and made the placenta come out in 4 mins. 2 hours after birth, we were sleeping on our bed! Yeah!
@remiguald sorry to hear about a car accident that must have been so scary. the birth sounds like it was a piece of cake for you! congrats! i can't wait to be a mommy! I know its a really tough job but like everyone says they are so worth it! how long did it take for your milk to come in fully? or was it immediate? one more question and ill leave you alone lol what did you do to cope with the passing of the head and shoulders?
@littlecookie1010 The midwife told me to watch for my milk to come in about 3 days. The baby's poop turns brown and then mustard color . I got mine after 2 days. I should mention that I had nothing hindering me from getting it, like an uninterested child, due to receiving a bottle first as in hospital at times. Also last week, I had to take antibiotics, and it killed my milk for 5 days a bit. I stopped and it came back. In the hospital they give them like crazy, so don't take if not needed!
@littlecookie1010 The head/shoulders passing is the end of the game, short, and does not hurt as much as the middle ( 5-8/9 cm). Your body starts pushing, and you are distracted. You are making a big poop. lol. The pain was the middle of labor, when i had to walk around. BTW, when I sat down,, and a contraction came, my insides hurt so bad, that I started screaming to get me up! I can't phantom laboring in a bed! A mindset to get it over with instead of whining about the pain helps too!
it doesnt matter watt anybdy says...that shyt is AMAZING...child birth period is amazing...but that shyt right there was a tru miracle of life...any female that has water babies....has a lot of heart..n strenght 2 do that.....congrats 2 u...n ur new baby
Thank you. I am a midwife who just moved from Austin, TX (40 midwives in the city) to Lake Charles, LA (7 midwives in the state). Things are less than progressive here, but videos like yours remind me of what it's all for. Thank you. Beautifully put, beautifully shown. Congratulations.
What an absolutely beautiful video. I am 23 years old and decided to have an all natural, drugg-free water birth with our second and although it was in a hospital the experience of feeling your baby make it's way into the world, and knowing you are working for it, is just.. there are no words for it. Good job mama!
@nessaf81 Were you in the hospital?? You can make as much noise as you want! it's YOU in labor!!! I was not much of a 'noise-maker', but I know many women who feel they are 'releasing' tension and energy while moaning... it's not because of the pain so much as it is the building of pressure and there has to be a release somewhere.... if you're at home - you can do whatever you want to do!! Including screaming at the top of your lungs!! ;-D
I'm 20 and just found out I'm pregnant! I really want a water birth! I was wondering if you had to go to the hospital after you had the baby? and where you got the pool from?
Thank you for posting this beautiful and encouraging video! I am 34 weeks now, planning a home waterbirth with a midwife, her assistant, and a doula. I never thought I'd be homebirther, but after doing the research, I feel just as safe as at any hospital and way more comfortable. I also find I resonate very much with midwives' model of care. Hospitals certainly have their place and are not to be abandoned entirely, but I am so grateful to be in the best of hands at home.
The pains of labor are probably the most forgettable pains in existence. It all fades away as soon as you hold your little one in your arms ^_^ I can't wait for my homebirth! My son is due sept 29th
Your video is beautiful, and you are lucky to have such a treasure! I had my 4th baby 1/3/10 he was my first home birth. We were not lucky enough to get it on film. My whole labor and delivery time was only 45 minutes! And a comment for those people out there who think home birth is not safe.... YOU ARE WRONG! Midwife attended planned home births for women who are low risk are safe if not safer than in a hospital!
Well done you, great work by both you and all your boys!!! It's a pity more people don't get the concept- birthing at home is a whole different experience with many benefits, including those of feeling safe, secure and being able to trust that you can do it without interventions. Statistically (where I live in Australia anyway) homebirth has a much higher rate of safety. It's because of people like you that the rest of us can see and learn more too - thank you and blessings xx
Kudos to you :D Although i will feel better having my children in a hospital. I think people need to leave there rude comments to themselves. To each there own. and way to go girl!!!
Wow what an amazing video, I am starting my midwifery training in a few months, and can't wait to help women achieve the kind of birth they hope for. This must have been a wonderful experience, you have a beautiful family.
More power to you!!!! I would love to be one of those women who could give birth at home....but alas I know my limitations.....but I believe whatever method works best for the women is the one she should choose. I myself am a total and complete wimp when it comes to labor and delivery......I

headtherandjoey said: "because women had been giving birth at home for thousands of years before the introduction of hospitals". Of course. And many babies would die at birth, and even more women would die (exsanguination and stuff). Birthing is a hazardous process (has nobody told you?). While hospitals sure are mood killers, they're much safer. Can't help but think of women who insist on giving birth at home, especially unassisted, as being selfish, careless, short-sighted idiots. Seriously.
Thankfully, the research does not agree with you! What has vastly improved birth outcomes: sterile method (hand washing), antibiotics, good nutrition. At first (because doctors didn't know about sterile method) hospitals were MUCH less safe than giving birth at home. Now, both hospital AND home are much safer than they used to be. For some women homebirth is NOT safe. For others, hospitals interfere with normal birth, making it less safe. I chose homebirth FOR safety not "mood."
@rachelzucker i must say i admire you for tolerating the criticism. to people who have a problem with home birth YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO HAVE YOUR CHILDREN BORN IN A HOSPITAL. a lot of people who choose home birth are accused of selfishness and stupidity, but home birth is a lot more difficult and takes much more resolve than birth in a hospital. and either way, most infant fatalities at home are the result of circumstances that would have killed the baby even if it was born in a hospital
@Fr34k1ng0ut There is nothing selfish about having a homebirth if you are healthy and have qualified midwives in attendance. In the UK you can have a homebirth with NHS midwives attending. They are qualified in resuscitation - this is not a return to the stone age you know. A lot of the interventions that women have forced on them in American hospitals are unecessary and counter-productive. Many other countries have moved on from the barbaric way women were forced to labour, but the USA hasn't
Just beautiful, I had tears in my eyes. A birth I always wanted but sadly could only dream of. Mother of three teenagers all born in hospitals in the remote north of Australia.
After 2 natural hospital births if we get pregnant with a 3rd i will be attempting a home birth. I loved your video i actually roar just like you and at the time its painful but if i could birth as many babies as i wanted to i would. I loved every moment of the experience with both my boys! Well done!
women are so amazing, I can't imagine going through pain like that and just sticking to it without backing off and going to the hospital, may God bless all of you :)
Very nice video! I just became a doula and will be having our third child in about 5 weeks! We recently decided to have a home birth to which I'm so excited!
Water birth is realy interesting to me... Does anybody know if it has any advantages? Like if it makes pushing a little bit easyer, relieves some presure or anything like that.
I found this video this morning after my brother and his wife had their first baby. This is a truly wonderful video. Your baby is beautiful. I wish you all the happiness in the world.
Beautiful, and so nice that your boys where right there I would love it if my boys could be at my next birth when ever that may be but I don't think I have the guts for a home birth, I wish I did.
I don't think birth is ever "easy." That's just not a word I'd use to describe birth. But it definitely felt safe and manageable. And thanks, I think he's cute too!
Just beautiful, I had tears in my eyes. A birth I always wanted but sadly could only dream of. Mother of three teenagers all born in hospitals in the remote north of Australia.
Beautiful..nothing is as precious as a new life ,and look at the incredible bond between little Judah and his brothers ,who witnesed him com ing into the world..
Well done mum! This was beautifully and tastefully done...congratulations on succeeding with the home birth you wanted !:)

i gave birth in a hospital and they keept trying to get me back in bed with the moniters on ...next time i would love a home birth i can do as i please!! lol hooray to that!
I had my first two children in a hospital, but, if we ever get pregnant again, I'd love to be in control, be able to walk around, or be on my hands and knees, get in the tub, and moan if I want to without being shushed by the nurses. Thanks for an inspiring video! :) Great job, mom! What a beautiful family!
thank you rachel for sharing this video with us. i especially love the photos and music at the end...makes you realise just how Awesome our God is. Its amazing what your body can do if you just trust it. Much love to you and your family XX
That was so beautiful and amazing the pictures were crystal clear God Bless you and your family. Lol it was funny when ur husband popped in during the shot.
Bellissimo!!! That is WONDERFUL in Italian =) I just wish to have such a fantastic family as yours! thank you for sharing, it is very important for women that like me are going to have their first baby!!!
what an amazing video, thankyou for sharing that with everyone, i only hope i can be as brave as you when i have children, how long was your labour in total.

ITS A BIRTH!!!!! Yes, yes, sacred blah blah, but it's horrendously painful..... it feels like you are making it more about the woman then it is about the child. Yes the woman is necessary for this to happen and its admirable that they can do that, but making THAT much hype about a natural birth just doesn't make sense to me. I'd like to find a woman who could change my view on that.... but for now, I just see this as cheesing up a very natural thing, just as Christian rock music cheeses divinity
I think that the hype surrounding natural home delivery is well deserved because of the fact that women are choosing to give birth at home, away from the sterile and constricting world of a hospital. That decision allows the return of a very natural thing, because women had been giving birth at home for thousands of years before the introduction of hospitals. I believe that the increasing popularity of home birth is simply due to the fact that women can now be in control of their birthing.
Gorgeous you guys - congrats!! I am about to have my 3rd home birth - and I can't wait - watching gorgeous home births like your own is such positive preparation!!! Congratulations!!
Awesome! I loooove that last song... Can you tell me what it is? Congrats... Your children are beautiful. So happy to see the older brothers so excited and caring for the baby :o)
I loved it, you are an amazing woman. I wish that I would have had enough courage to have a home birth with my second when I was trying for a VBAC. It ended in another c-section after 36 hours in labor.
I love the video montage that you made, and your family is gorgeous.
The picture of your 3 boys @ 6:25 is amazing. You can feel the love in this photo. Amazing birth and I wish you the best...you have a beautiful family!
just wonderful! too mauc courage and i like the way you scream like a mantra of birth, smiling husband and beautifullbrothers! inspiration for my next birth work! thanks for sharing!
The woman around her are so calm and supportive, just letting the mom do her thing. Still I am just saying, if I decide to have children, I might do the whole water birth thing...but I would like a small hit from a joint...so I can be really calm....JUST KIDDING!!!!

This is kinda awkward. The mother was butt naked on all four groaning and her other two kids in there? Surely cultures differ.
Im glad to be a dude, giving birth does look painful. Its like a higher level of constipation, unfortunately eating more roughage makes no difference here.
The idea of something coming out of me is just unthinkable. Im not sexist but I have pride in being male.
what an inspirational and beautiful video! i was too scared to do a homebirth the first time around, but if we are lucky enough to get pregnant again, we are hoping to have our baby at home as well. seeing videos like yours only encourages me that i can do it too! thank you.
Wow, I'm 6 months pregnant with my second daughter, due Jan 10th, planning a homebirth, not a big fan of hospitals, this made me cry, so lovely and what beautiful kids!!
Truly Beautiful! ......from a student midwife.....seeing videos like this make me want to make a difference and help the process of changing birth to a natural, and memorable process. Thank you

Why do women get so fucking gay about this shit..... you're making something that's really cool just incredibly cheesy and horrilbly feminist.
davidbauman16 2 years ago
@davidbauman16 How is this horribly feminist? Men can't do this, so why shouldn't women embrace this and feel empowered by it?

ITS A BIRTH!!!!! Yes, yes, sacred blah blah, but it's horrendously painful..... it feels like you are making it more about the woman then it is about the child. Yes the woman is necessary for this to happen and its admirable that they can do that, but making THAT much hype about a natural birth just doesn't make sense to me. I'd like to find a woman who could change my view on that.... but for now, I just see this as cheesing up a very natural thing, just as Christian rock music cheeses divinity
davidbauman16 2 years ago
I think that the hype surrounding natural home delivery is well deserved because of the fact that women are choosing to give birth at home, away from the sterile and constricting world of a hospital. That decision allows the return of a very natural thing, because women had been giving birth at home for thousands of years before the introduction of hospitals. I believe that the increasing popularity of home birth is simply due to the fact that women can now be in control of their birthing.

This is disgusting. It's basically a step above snuff porn.
Speaking of which, why doesn't youtube allow snuff porn.
revtm 2 years ago
This is not porn!
It is child birth.
What are you viewing this for, if that is your view, you silly little child.
HollieRraw 2 years ago 3
Disgusting? Your mother gave birth to you, so you are insulting your mother every time you insult a women going through childbirth.
You have no respect and are clearly not mature enough to understand the beauty of childbirth. Grow up and thank your mother she gave birth to you.
