that is a previous version... Giugiaro designed his mustang when he saw the 2005 body upgrade. I think his was based on a 2005 but it might have been 2006... ive heard roumor that he is designing another based on a 2010 but i havent seen any prototypes yet...
@Neckbonekat1029 No. Ford at no point contracted or approached him to do a mustang design. The Giugiaro mustang was a one off car. And that's fact. There were lots of people that wanted it but ford has it's own in house designers. I for one love the new 2010 style and while the giugiaro is pretty or doesn't say mustang to me.
@DaBluedude100 Not true. Giugiaro asked and received permission from Ford to make their concept of the Mustang. Ford supplied them with the engine, transmission and performance parts for the car. Originally the Ford engineers were so impressed with the design they intended to use the concept for the platform for the 2010 Mustang, but a large amount of negative feedback from Mustang purist did not support the Italian design. They had the same complaint you did.

It never came out into production. It was a concept and it was also known as the Italian Stallion. You should check it out.

So. Doesn't hurt to try new things. An italian car designer modified the 2005 mustang, and made a prototype called the Guigiaro Mustang.
