  • yes don't go off and blame america even though we did partake in the war the russians were also involved. Try to understand that the cold war was a big realistic game of risk and the country's that were involved usually got the short end of the stick

  • @53africa .1st was the cia that helped then was the Russians then portuguese comandos now its the namibians.everybody wants to take credit for his death.grande Jonas

  • Well in 2002 the UNITA Leader Jonas Savimbi was gone down by MPLA of Luanda together with the joint Forces from the Namibian Defence Force.

  • Let me answer your comments MPLA got read off UNITA in 222: The South West African People Organisation (SWAPO), win the hearts of our African People, because were well trained with more discipline. SADF se Koefut always run away and come back with their back up asking the local people Waar is SWAPO meaning were is SWAPO? We attack SADF Bases in the north, while they shoot at civilians and Rape our Woman in villages.

  • abaixo a gatunagem do mpla..down with those thiefs mfkers

  • Savimbi was a nacionalist and proud angolan period.Grande Jonas you r gone but not forgotten.

  • betinho tell me who gave weapons to your comunist buddys?unita fougth for freedom and against the mpla comunists

  • @xaxa835 Exactly he fought for the freedom for his country not like this assole of Jose Eduardo dos santos who isn't Angolano himself. Angola people need to wake up instead continuing to drink like they always do. My god im angolana too but sometime im so ashamed no seriously.

  • IF RUSSIA HAD TO HAVE A WAR WITH THE US IT WOULD BLOW ALL THE YANKEES UP THE SKY THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED IN ANGOLA WEE BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF UNITA WITH THE HELP OF CUBA TRUE FRIEND OF AANGOLA

  • I really dont understand what else the US wants. Just give us what we deserve and cut the bullshit. We Angolans import more than 90% of the food from the US and Portugal this is called Neo Slavery we irony is we like your food but give us the chance to enjoy our land. We give you cheap petrol which accounts for most of the Angolan income so now its our time to be who we want to be and what we are

  • the united states and russia had they hand in all of this THEY arm 1 side while another arms the other. The UN watches all of this but claim it couldnt do nothing to stop it, bullshiet. Dont sell them the weapons or train them for war and ANGOLA would have been much better.

  • @savannahblk ok now that we are independent please do us a favour and itll also be your favour. Remove the mines that you left behind wars over since 2002 can u like help havnt u had enough of stealing..jesus

  • Savimbi um patriota

  • o savimbi ten razao

  • Good video, but Angola has made huge progress in the last few years and you need to focus on the positive.

  • I acknowledge the importance of these documentaries but please it is time to report about the new Angola where roads, schools, hospitals and so on are being built.

  • ark777ane: what you except after 400 year of colonialim, 30 year of civil war....

or what you except after apartheid.....

uk n usa ask apartheid to do a job....fight commie..lol. but usa never fight cuba

  • The US are the devils of all time nd my question is why did US give wapons to Unita to kill innocent people

  • @Betinho8183

While the U.S. deserves full blame for its actions in funding and supplying UNITA, and must be held accountable, the same could be said for the USSR funding and supplying the MPLA, which also killed many innocent civilians.

Unfortunately in the Angolan civil war, nothing is crisp, clear, or black and white. The lines are blurred and UNITA, MPLA, U.S., and USSR are ALL to blame for the horror, havoc, and pointless violence of that conflict.

  • @pzimet I agree with you my friend

  • @Betinho8183 Don't forget that the soviet union financed the other side NPLA.

  • Comment removed

  • we did had the choice...fight or let your country be rulled by anglo-boer-afrikaner-dutch....i chose to fight...

the result is sadf is out of ..business closed down...all moved with black water in iraq..lol

  • Rather a day of struggle as a free man than a lifetime of peace as a servant,

cannot remember the true quote or who said it but the idea is the same.

I hope I would make the same decision if I were in the same position.

    Respect.

  • negara tolol..

  • There is no democracy in Angola. South Africa should have been given control of angola like South west africa. You would see true infrastructure there if this was so. Democracy ...what a joke !!! More corruption than anywhere else. This is Africa !!! Don't forget that. No true honour.

  • this is video shows very well what happen after angola stoped being a portuguese colony, chaos, violence and the murdered of the people, but the few people that take advantage of the countrys wealth are rich beyond imagination, altough their citizens are dieing starving

  • @jonhestananet Thats after white stepped in Africa. If they had come with peace there would never be war. But you started the war and you came to empower urselves and enrich ur selves by the way of stealing. You use other methods like massacre etc. and planted mines all over the territory so we can depend on you guys this is the way of the whites the way oof the terrorism this is called terrorism

ps: u still left lots of mines why dont u go and fix it, since its independent

  • @Orionetsirius its not about being white or black, in the 1500´s it was common practice to attack other nations or people or whatever to suit your needs. there was no such thing as "PEACE" 500 years ago, dont be naive. the African tribes killed each other back then too, and they stay do. but the country had a lot more stability when it was a colony, that theres is no doubt. i iam very doubtful that mines where used that much by the portuguese army since they themselves where attacked with mines.

  • @jonhestananet Yeh but problem is there is no more portuguese or russian or whatever white now we have Angolans which are people of the Republic of Angola so get rid of your rubbish because it is killing people and stopping us from farming and eating; we are starving and u are getting rich just cut the crap and take out the mines thats already too much we already give you free oil and free diamonds what else do u want idiots

  • @jonhestananet

The country did NOT have more stability when it was a colony...you are completely and disgustingly INCORRECT about that. Maybe it was more stable for the Portuguese satellite rulers or settlers, but it sure as hell wasn't for Angolans from pre-colonization. Colonization is violence and it was in Angola. Portuguese colonization was some of the most abusive, oppressive, and violent of all of the variants...you're ignorant.

  • @pzimet so civil war is more stable for you than a colony status. ok! regardless of the obvious stability for the portuguese settlers, i dont think the thounsands of african people that came to portugal after the end of the colonies came because the weather was better here. colonization is opression, LIVE WITH IT, look what your country does in the middle east ( if you are american ) hypocrite

  • @jonhestananet

"Thousands of Africans coming to Portugal after the colonies" is your main evidence. MILLIONS of Africans were oppressed under colonial rule - the numbers speak for themselves

I am American, but since I haven't made a statement supporting U.S. involvement in the Middle East, my nationality is irrelevant . I can't be a hypocrite since I said nothing about it. Being American doesn't immediately make me support my country's actions. Jesus christ you're an idiot.

  • @pzimet You are right my friend.

  • @jonhestananet

Oh, and neither civil war nor a colony status is stable. The situation BEFORE Portugal, or any imperialist, pathetic European state involved itself in Africa, was stable. The Europeans consistently and on nearly every single level screwed things up in Africa - the Portuguese and Belgians worst of all. Great fucking job.

  • @pzimet You are right my friend all of them are the same opportunist. They are there just for the diamond nothing other.

  • @jonhestananet lol you are so funny you know that?? I mean what the portuguese did for this country nothing they were there just for their beneficit not to save the country.

  • @manuel38300 are the chinese , russian or cuban there because they love angolas people ??? i said it was better managed.

  • @jonhestananet all of you are the same so we need just have a peace in our country it is all. All of you are there just to stole our diamond.

  • @manuel38300 making business and stealing are different things. plus we dont need to steal anything from you. your own government does a great job at it!

  • @jonhestananet It is funny all of you give the same execuse. There are some government who wanted to change Africa. What Europeen governemment or USA did they killed them. So please don't give me this kind of excuse. Why Joseph Kabila father was killed?? Why Agostinho Neto was killed?? Why Patrice Lumbamba was killed?? etc Because all of them wanted the peace in their country. Of course your governmment don't want it because they know without Africa they are nothing.

  • diga esso ao ze edu que guerra nunca mais ele vai rir corrupto

  • 2007 markes the first year since the 1940's that food production in Aftica grew faster than the population did...

  • Angola is full of money but there is a lot of political corruption since the war started. If you go to Luanda (the "capital" of Angola) is good in economic terms, but besides Luanda all of the country is poor.

  • Ahhh... Good old Africa, same old story. Why is everyone suprised when wars are waged and are almosted never ended? Come on this has been going on for hundreds of years this is nothing new.

  • participé de UNAVEMIII 95/97 buenos recuerdos del fin de la guerra, nunca más guerra

    salud hermanos angoleños

    Muzungo

  • how much money goes to unita per year.and what do they do with it. how much of the 700,000,000 dollars per year?

  • unsaturable greed...when do they get enough and allow the people to live and feed themselve and contribute something where they take from. Damn!

  • poor people...wish them the best

  • IfMA5T3RB were to ever bother to visit the Country, and ask a few questions, they would find out that ALL foreign companies over there have to be in partnership with the government. I worked there for 8 years and I know. The problem over there is that the Government never seem to get around to distributing the wealth to the poor. The Government there is now more afraid of attack from the 'povo' than they were from UNITA.

  • Six more years.................

  • WOOOOOOOOohhh,

Unbelievable from Boston i can watch these however, i used to be the victim

  • Same old story I've been hearing since I was a kid! The war will continue, the war between the poor and the rich will persist, the government are puppets to the big "first world" companies!

  • I wish YouTube would include a date label on each offering; this one is rather out of date as Savimbi was killed years ago.

  • "March 1996"

you just have to read the description on the right...

    take care

  • Good documentary , could be the story of most of Africa ...

  • ...great!!!thanks for this documentary.....

  • Now seeimg it= what bs. The goverment were worse than the rebels. I know I worked ther for 5 years as an ex SANDF member

  • Imagine what could be accomplished if both the oil and diamond riches were somehow joined under one to the benefit of the entire country, Angola would grow inmensively, it is a pitty that the interests of a few outweight the needs of the many. Only humans

  • thanks for this reality show documetary about my country ANGOLA

  • Not a bad documentary....

  • Great documentary.Very informative.
