  • so great to see your lovely face!

  • @AgentUnderpants62 And to see YOURS!!!!!!!!!

  • Hehehe, I've had my share of experimental food total fails. Still, it's fun to try new things out now and then.

So you were using that "Stevia In The Raw" just for this recipe and it's not something you'd normally use? I recently started using Stevia to sweeten my tea with. I actually like it. I've tried the kind you had and found it passable but a somewhat better tasting brand is NuStevia (made by NuNaturals). If you're ever feeling adventurous again you might want to give it a try.

  • @3CoolKats Plus NuNaturals has a brand of NuStevia which says on the container something like "Blended for baking", although I've not tried that one out.

I actually did a brownie video last Christmas but never got around to editing it since the taste in that case wasn't fully what I wanted either. They were made from real sugar and still plenty good enough to eat though:)

  • @3CoolKats Yes, we normally use Sugar in the Raw. I don't normally use any substitute sugar because I don't use sugar in all that much. One teaspoon in my coffee and that's it. I use honey for tea.

  • i love your tee

  • @manyhorses56 Thanks!

  • The shifty eye move WAS a dead giveaway, but I like both of your diplomatic assessments.

    Hey, cooking involves experimentation, right?

Artificial sweetener is one of those things that even for folks like me who do incorporate it every once in a while (used to put it in coffee... stopping wasn't a conscious thing, now that I reflect back), sometimes it works and sometimes it provides a "deal breaker."

  • @OhCurt Yeah, this was a deal breaker alright. My only regret was that I didn't film tossing them in the bin!...heheheh You are back to drinking coffee now right?

  • @PaintedRavensong Heh, that would've been fun to see. But no harm done. The facial expressions pretty much told us where they were headed anyway.

    :o)

Yep, the regular coffee continues to flow. I still add creamer, though, and that's billed as "sugar free" - so with that being the case any extra fake sugar would probably just be redundant.

  • Seeing you in the kitchen reminded me of one of the first I ever watched of you - standing in your kitchen making a cup of tea! LOL Sorry, but not surprised the brownies didn't taste good... I mean they were made with black beans and weird stuff!!! LOL Loved your editing and effects! What program are you using?

Good to see you Mic!! xoxo

  • @mysteryglo Thanks Judy...yeah, new kitchen...hehehe I just use Vegas Movie Studio and I'm trying to learn various things to do with it. It's hit or miss...hehehe HUGS!!!

  • I could tell you were really enjoying those- bean shells! LOL I have a terrific recipe for carob tofu brownies....somewhere. Will dig around to see if I can locate it.

  • @LeSaMilano Yeah, no bean shells! Well, even if I would have had the food processor, these would have stuff tasted like crap!...hehehe Would love to try the one you mentioned.

  • real brownies are the only way to go..........it was fun watching you prove it...lol

  • @elbrookman Yes, indeed...the only way!!!!

  • I loved this! I love brownies! and I love you!

Sorry they werent what you wanted. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Much like eating a brownie actually....hehehee

Love to you and your Lady!

  • @Tobie2 Hugs to you and your Lady also Susan...and yeah, I'm going to be hard-pressed to find a brownie recipe that is lowfat and highflavor...hehehe

  • Love the shirt :)

  • @AxeMoose Thanks! We just had our Harvey Milk festival last month and I loved it so had to get one!

  • I totally love this video. Your faces at the end are priceless!!!!!! And confusing! It was fun watching you bake though. Your kitchen is quite lovely.. PLease make more videos like this one. I want more of you in the kitchen! heehee

  • @ItalianStallionette Gina, honey...you are so cute!! I was talking to Kirsten this morning and it would be fun to do a series of these experimental brownie recipes and grade them...hehehe Love you guys!!

  • @PaintedRavensong I watched this video last night as I was trying to get to sleep. I've been on the couch for a few nights since I have strep throat. Anyways, Your video was the last one I watched before sleeping, and I went to sleep with a HUGE smile on my face, and still laughing. I woke up with you guys on my mind, and I had to tell Shari all about your video. She thinks it's hysterical. I told her about your faces when you tried the bean brownies... hahah

  • I watch a lot of cooking videos, and frankly, to see a recipe that didn't work out, and the cook saying it wasn't good makes it a great vid! Thanks for the warning about black bean brownies, you two were very honest, lol. I was thinking hmmm, interesting, so thanks for sparing me (and Fred) from having to endure them! Even he would say.."they're not that bad" (dead give away) lol.

  • @kern0099 hehehe...thanks. I honestly wanted them to be good but hey, I'm not going to put anything in my body that I'm not enjoying thoroughly if they are called BROWNIES!...hehehe

  • Oh my goodness, Mic. LMAO I think I'll pass but I'm happy you gave it a try for us. Maybe you can crumble them up on top of some nachos and add some cheese and salsa! :) So, don't give up. What are you going to try next out of the new book?

  • @CountryComesToTown hehehe...that's funny Jim...I don't even think that cheese and salsa would mask that aftertaste. Luckily, I didn't buy the book and just got this particular recipe out of it. It will probably be the last!...hehehe

  • (... cont.) thanks for the video.. great to see you both. what kind of painting do you do? I'm an illustrator and animator.. would love to see some of your things you have painted

  • great video... I started being vegetarian in 1995.. but you can be a junk food vegetarian and that in my ignorance just about killed me literally. So I can appreciate your journey. I really could care about views but if you would like to see some recipes I use and do, do a search on "things I eat" on my channel... might help. I have not done a lot of sweets at all since the beginning of the year. In fact just bought cacao, carob, and agave nectar to start trying a few recipes.

  • @Ishkiia Nice to read your great comment. I've been a vegetarian now since 1989 and I normally would NOT have tried to make anything with low-cal substitutes but I was willing to give it a shot. Usually, I just cook healthy foods and try to eat reasonable portions of them. If you look on my front channel page, you'll see my artwork playlist. You can see the stuff I've painted there. I've got a few videos just on the artwork. I'm a real hack though and just started doing it 2 years ago!
