I went in the solitary room at my school, I didnt even get a warning. I just got dragged in the room and the door was locked. The more we shouted the longer we would have to stay in the room. High school was better, we got sweets for being good : )

FYI, you should NEVER EVER put them in a self-contained class unless they have more severe disorders such as MR. That can cause even more behavior problems since the students them are very different than they are. NEVER judge a student for what they have done in the past, but the way they are right now.

Honestly some students do have irregular behavior but some students also have normal feelings and behaviors that are contradictory to what is wanted. emotional Disturbance is actually something that everyone has because Emotional Disturbance is a change in said Emotions. So honestly you can go from sad to happy and thats a disturbance in emotions. The thing about staying on task is, children obviously dont want to always do schoolwork so it isnt a matter of being ED.
