I see Sky HD the same as Sky plus! when Sky plus first came out you had to pay £10 a month for the service (unless you had the movie or sports channels) now its free! sooner or later the same will happen to Sky HD they are already creeping towards that now! they have a deal where the HD box is free! Sky HD will be free eventually, its just a matter of time! they cannot keep it up! Virgin media cable already provide free HD channels.

@katakisLives i've ordered my box today. i've had the box for free but i had to sign up to sky multiroom for a year. i dont mind that coz we have a normal sky box which i'm gonna have the engineer setup in the bedroom so me and the misses can chill out in bed and watch tv. installation was free as well. sky have also given me 6 months free on the HD package because i said i'd been a loyal customer with them for 8 years, lol.

@dave46563 Sounds good! Sky have by far the best choice of channels, far superior to the rivals! and now Sky Atlantic is taking up a lot of my time too! I switched 2 Sky when Virgin media lost the Sky channels! my Sky plus planner is always nearly full so I'd have to try and empty it if I ever went HD (not an easy task)

the newest is sky+hd 1TB. the same features as the old box but the box itself looks more glossy and it has 1 terrabyte of memory

i'm from ireland and am disgusted that you have to pay 15euro xtra for 31 HD channels when USADIGI customers gets $20 every month for 12 months for joining and it's clearer there!

I will. Standard Definition ("normal") is the quality used by DVDs and Digital Television. It is quite good but then came HD (high definition). High definition is about 3 times better quality- it is stunning!!. It is quite expensive (£49 box+ £9.75 per month) but this will get you up to 32 HD channels. NOT ALL chanels will be automatically HD !! only the HD ones!!!!!

you have the old skyhd box which was made by thomson and faulty some times the new nes are made by samsung and have a logo saying SKY+HD not (SKYHD) and the review was brill other wise

there is actually 4 makes of hd boxes, thompson, pace, samsung and amstrad.

your box does look rather old though as it doesent say sky+hd it says sky hd they rebranded in feb 08.But at least you'll get the new epg sooner though as the newest boxes get it last

you get bbc hd, channel 4 hd and luxe tv hd for free (with no sky hd subscription) the other ones you have to pay an extra £10 for , also itv hd will be another free hd channel comin to sky hd soon ! :D

also,do you need a new LNB and new cables coming from the dish or do you just need the HD box, I have Sky+ already so I already have 2 cables, I also have a Sony bravia 46'' 1080p so really should get Sky+ HD

when a got minez the guyz took out ma sky + box and used the sky + connecters on the sky + hd box so all u need is the sky + hd box sky + hd card and a hdmi lol it took 2 guyz a fat greazy guy and a skiny wee ned for a 1 man job lol oh member to keep ya sky + box so u can sell it if its still good or rip out the hdd 4r parts lol
