  • Wow look, Alice from the Brady Bunch at 2:58.

  • Donna Douglas went to bed with Elvis during the filming of Frankie & Johnny. She now lives in southern Louisiana. Sadly, Max Baer never got his theme park off the ground due to financing. Buddy Ebsen just died this month. RIP Buddy.

  • @taypar11, huh????? Buddy Ebsen died over eight years ago!

  • Donna was such a beautiful woman. I wonder why she didn't become more famous.

  • I grew up watching these guys after school and still love it to this day!

  • Is it just me or does the book writer look like George Castanza from Seinfeld, but with hair?

  • Donna is a real hardcore JESUS freak these days.

Max has always been a sex addict.

That aside, I came here to find out how much these actors made weekly on the show. I heard years ago that Donna, Granny and Max wanted to go on strike during he 2nd season becasue they were getting paid peanuts while Buddy was pulling down some serious coin. Anybody know what each made?

  • I have a beverly hillbillies book . It's called " The Beverly Hillbillies the Saga of Wildcat Creek ". It's by Doris Schroeder and copyright 1963. I love the beverly hillbillies and old books.

  • They all haven't changed much.

  • Donna seems weird dressed as Ellie so many years later.

  • Louie Nye played the part of Sonny Drysdale

  • Research students, here's the acid test. Ask ten people who know the beverly hillbillies if they know who Louie Nye is. Class dismissed. Les Nye is more famous.

  • So is Bill Nye.

  • Louie Nye was in tons of movies and TV shows during the 1960's. What show wasn't he on? And so many movies. Loved him on CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM when that show first started. He's a regular on that show until he got ill. Who said he wasn't a big star. Everyone knew him.

  • What show wasn't he on?

Beverly Hillbillies. Oh a tiny bit part. That really counts.

    "Everyone knew him."

I smell more trolls here than "researchers".

  • I'd wrestle Ellie May anyday

  • I met Donna Douglas at the Clarion Hotel in Oklahoma City at about the time this was made. She was one of the sweetest women I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with. She was very shy, and spoke in a hushed voice -- and what a smile! Also, she was wearing skin-tight black jeans and a ruffled pink shirt (also skin-tight). Very, very Elly May.

  • going good up to these two nobodies

  • You're an idiot, Louis Nye is the biggest name up there next to Buddy Ebsen. He was a huge star on television going back to the Steve Allen show. Try checking your facts on that thing in front of you first.

  • still a fat zero especially wrt to the show, what about the other nobody?

"Try checking your facts on that thing in front of you first."

Never heard or seen these guys before and I did my share of tv watching back then. So the Steve Allen show was his big claim to fame. Wow. You probably consider Ed McMahon huge too, pun not intended.

  • Obviously this space doesn't allow much biography. Since you're stupid I have no doubt you never heard of him, nor a lot of other people too. That's the way it is with stupid people. The funny thing is I know you're on the internet so you fit into the "incredibly stupid" category since you weren't even able to look him up on wikipedia which in itself would have increased your IQ into the triple digits.

  • Let's walk through your logic. Someone watches a lot of tv yet never saw a personality before and therefore concludes they can't be too popular.

If that don't make sense to you, there's no hope trying to convince you otherwise. And you call others stupid?

  • Louie Nye is pretty famous.

  • According to who? Certainly not IMdb - the first site that pops up on Google. I was right all along give it up, his big claim to fame was Steve Allen. Woopie! Besides his unpopularity, how was he connected to BH?

  • You are a piss poor researcher, a lot of people got there start on Steve Allen (Don Knotts, Tom Poston, etc..but they all went on to great careers). Apparently you don't watch many movies because his movie credits are pretty extensive. You're on YOU TUBE, there's plenty of clips right here. Wow, you're dumber than I originally thought.

  • You are a piss poor researcher,

Researcher? To know if someone's famous or not? Ok.

"Wow, you're dumber than I originally thought." And you are trollier than I thought.

  • jerry's show was very good in this type of format ,much better than the garbage he has turned into today

  • Very true, it is sad that what he does now brings in the bucks. I have always liked Jerry since he Cincinnatti days.

  • Oprah owns the show.

  • @birminghamoi In one way the show is the same-he still has inbred hillbillies coming on the show, lol.

  • Welllllll, doggies!!!!

  • Thanks for posting this. I had never seen nor heard of this before.
