Some years back my father got a tumour, and in many countries it would have cost us a lot to get it removed for the operation and treatment. Why I say we got our money worth ten times, is because he was rediagnosed twice, one with a good one, and one with real cancer. So, for some taxes aren't so bad.
I like Swedes but I think they're so passive. They've been drenched in socialism for so long that the worship of the state gets internalized.
Americans at least have a history of liberty to draw upon, although we're hardly any better. It's rare to find someone who can break their programming.

Here in Sweden we learn English from the age of 6 or in school all up in high school,and all the films and tvshows from USA for example uses swedish subtitels so we hear English all the time and that's the difference from for example Germany, all of the films and tvshows are dubbed! And honestly? - how can you expect that all of ous can speak English?We try the best we can and it's easier to write then speak it's not like we speak English with eachother, it's easy to get surprised and dumb....

Well, swedes are good at english, but of course every swede can't have the perfect pronunciation.
You cannot require great english from the old ladies, and the three women standing in a park or something are national football players and therefor not stupid but maybe more interested in developing their football skills than their english.
Also I believe that you can be a little disturbed by the camera and think of that instead of what to say.
I can understand everything they all said. In my experience, I think people from the Scandinavian countries are the best at speaking English in Europe... well... besides the English, Irish, and Scotish... LOL

I've been learning Swedish in bits and pieces for a while
now. I really like it. English and Swedish are both germanic
languages and are similar in many ways. A lot of basic words
are the same or similar.
