has e n 1 checked the writing credits, maybe its a Collaboration of the original, like the clutch song: "electic worry" but it does sound alot like "La Grange"
@TheTrillkott You guys must be kidding... like Clapton, SRV or Hendrix didn't borrow riffs from JL Hooker, Robert Johnson, BB King or other bluesmen. This is actually a tribute to ZZ Top, not a rip off. I guess if you actually knew something we'd be buying your albums instead of his. Check out the breadth of music he's put out over his career and who he's played with. You don't get invited to play with the guys he's played with unless you're the real deal.
@TheTrillkott everyone(ZZTOP) stole it from john lee hooker, its the blues you pass it along...zz top are the greatest but the blues has a longer history

It may not be the most original riff...at this point, but Colin makes the song his.....his voice is so clean and crisp.... Always have loved him. I saw him live and he's just as good live. I saw him in 1995 in Cleveland in a tiny bar but it was personal and rockin.

Love it, great song Colin. Been following him so long, saw him got a guitar from Stevie Ray Vaughn from Terry David Mulligan on Much Music so many years ago. It was an award, sorry can't remember which one.
And la grange sounds like spirit in the sky by norman greenbaum who had the riff 4 years prior. Besides, I really really dislike the way the billy gibbons sounds in la grange.. feels like something is caught in his throat.
Anyone seen Bruce Springsteen do this riff and rhythm to his song Find Some Reason to Believe? Man blew me away when I heard it - this riff is Rock and Roll at its' finest
like the guitar solo

@Drewish2727 whos to say that La Grange isnt a rip off of Colin James. Colin James writes better music either way :)

I've got ever album but "FUSE", this is really good, but nothing tops "Sudden Stop". His Little Big Band Albums are amazing too.

Colin is good friends with the boys from ZZ-Top, and has toured with them when they come to Canada. For me he is the MAN!
