  • Roscoe, thanks much for this one. First time I have seen this. I still want to get to Detroit and be one of the Bell Ringers. Perhaps next year... Robert, Eau Claire Wisconsin.

  • In a world of billions, the loss of 29 people can affect so many of us.

  • I agree... In a world of Billions.. When someone dies, it will always effect someone somehow somewhere. I find it funny sometimes that when we suffer a loss, we feel that everything comes to a stop, or should anyway!! but unfortunately "the world just keeps on turning" I know that when my Dad Passed away I sure with the world would have atleast slowed down a bit. Just a few words of thought...

  • "No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee."

  • It is said that every time a bell rings..an angel gets their wings.....all souls lost on the Great Lakes are angels......

  • I remember this moment vividly even though I was only 11. Thanks for sharing
