I doubt that developers afraid of lines of code. I think for majority of software developers it's easier to overview one of few classes of code than go through different forms in order to wire everything up.
Also I don't think that Flex is "complex", as soon as you understand OOP.
Right, .... that looks good. Almost. A bit powerbuilder-ish. And then I look at the demo.
It tells me to use IE6 or higher and asks me to install various components before I can continue. But I'm on Linux, and even if I'd have been on Windows I would not have wanted to install those components.
And nor would I have liked to ask the end user to install that.
Sorry, but this does not reflect my philosophy of RIA.
cool, now try to create for example something like photoshop express ( any graphics editor ) Anything different then a set of forms... Well see how much of a difference will be then.
Looks almost like editing an excel document which is cool if you need a simple app. But how do you handle errors, authentication, how do you integrate with other online services using soap, xmlrpc etc., how do you validate data? I seriously doubt it is a platform you can rely on to build complex enterprise applications.
The requirements for running an app are a mile long O.o , it is bound to fail. Also from what I understand it is not cross platform.
@razvanpat I understand your doubts. This example was done following Adobe official example of performing server side activity and it is extremely simplistic.
uniPaaS is much much more than what this example shows. I invite you to go through some of uniPaaS user stories to learn about the breadth and complexity of real uniPaaS applications and also about the positive business impact customers gained. And in such huge projects the complexity of Adobe becomes a real issue.
What's the music? I really like it.

Would NEVER use any of the mentioned products, but from this video alone, I'd prefer Adobe in most cases.

Seriously good job, Ofer. Nice music, great demo, great timing. RIA is really amazing the way uniPaaS does it!
