Castillo gave Ortiz a fierce battle until the body shot took him out in the 13th round. I understand they had a rivalry which reminds me of the Olivares-Castillo trilogy. Among bantamweight greats Ortiz is right there with Olivares, Jofre and Zarate. That would have been some great wars.

This fight was a total war. I don't know that I ever saw the ref break the two, even though it was all in-fighting. Brutal action with Ortiz outlasting him. Great, great fight. Reminded me of Jofre vs. Harada. A match-up between Jofre and Ortiz would've been some fight. Tough to call the winner in that one but I'd be rooting for my fellow SoCal hermano all the way.

Those are the fights I'm most interested in seeing, Ortiz vs. Chavez. Ring Mag said they were the most compelling of Ortiz's storied career. They fought five times with Ortiz going 2-1-2 against Chavez, who was reportedly a drinking buddy of Manny's. Do you know if that's true? And, did you ever find those fights?
