Curtisnz, all RB engines sound like this whether its a gts, gtt, or gtr, but if you live in the US you cant have a skyline legally, sorry, aswell you have to have a custom exahist for a skyline to sound good, HKS Hi power is the best

i dont understand how people can get this exhaust note with there rb25's all the other ones ive listened to sound different but this one actually sounds like the skyline from 2f2f (favorite sound) how did you do it?

@bobdudle123211 It was single turbo and through a 3.75" exhaust. Not sure if that matters but it makes a big difference compared to the bottled up sound of the stock turbo/exhaust. Could be the camera's mic too, dunno.

@1jzdrift1 I built mine. Just 3 inch piping and a couple of flanges. On my RB20 S13 (another car I had) I had the stock turbo and wound up using an ebay downpipe for an RB20 and it fit perfectly to the ebay 240 exhaust I bought. Not sure about the RB25 though.

Very nice car. In your advice what engine would you swap for a reliable 400whp. I know the stock KA or a sr20 are good for some power but only around 350ish unless you forge / push the envelope.

I know the rb25 skyline engine would work like a charm but I don't know if the price is worth it if im only going for 400ish whp.

I don't have this car anymore, but the front clip came with an RB25DE or RB20 (KA/SR20 sized) trans. It's my assumption that they will all bolt up with minor mods. The actual RB25DET trans is MUCH beefier than the KA/RB20/SR20 series of transmissions. On my RB20 car I used the stock KA 5spd trans just had to remove one dowel pin in the bell housing and widen a bolt hole. Custom driveshaft anways.

I would assume this is caused by the camera's self adjusting the mic. volume as it gets louder. That's why it's not very practical to set the camera on the ground like this.

You're prolly looking at 1300-1800 for the engine. People sell them for more, but keep your eyes out. If you dont know how to fabricate and machine parts, then there are kits out there for RB25DET conversions.

I think it's the larger turbo that's giving they more agressive sound. Same concept when going single on a Supra, sounds much better than the small twins.

Hi all, I did do the swap myself. The front clip was around $2500-2800 if I remember correctly. My best advice here is to buy the engine set or clip only from a very reliable importer, even if it means paying more. Some good ones that I've used: JHOT in Augusta (see my RB20 videos) and JARCO in Canton, GA. My biggest peice of advice...SWAP THE MOTOR IN STOCK. Don't try to swap injectors, turbo etc... before you ever get it running for the first time. This motor blew, see my RB20..I did it right.
