An unusual video - recorded instrumental track and live vocal track - haven't seen that before! I wonder if a "new" live version of the vocal track was also pre-recorded... if not, the sound of the drums being played would have fed into Dio's microphone during the making of the video.

Still, Dio was such a good vocalist that he could have recorded the vocals 10 times and all the takes would have been great. He oozed pure technique and his vocal range is completely unforced, much like Bon Scott.

Fantastic!!! I've been a big fan of Blackmore all my life, and I must say the solo in this song is one of his best. I would rank it in the top five. The structure of the scales and changes in intonation here are just phenominal. Truely masterful! And the band: Dio and Cozy, great as always......Daisley and Stone, wonderful musicians. I believe Stone actually wrote the arrangement for Blackmore to burn this solo through. Great Stuff. Thanks for uploading.

I think the reason his legacy tends to be overshadowed by his lead singer's is that Ritchie seemed to drop off the face of the planet mid-way through the eighties. Ronnie, on the other hand, kept putting out relevant and timely top-tier metal decade after decade. Still, that should not take away from Ritchie's brilliant and innovative contribution to Seventies rock.

You know who really deserves more recognition? Cozy Powell.
