Hollywood Blvd. has alot of different events. Film Openings, award shows, etc...They use different security companies all the time for these things. The security guards are for the most part borderline retarded. They dont have an idea of what PUBLIC PROPERTY is and the PRIVATE PROPERTY(in the case, the "private" property would be whatever space the event has pulled a permit for.) Many of them will attempt to tell you that you arent allowed to take pictures. Its hilarious yet pathetic.

I just watched again... and I stand by what I said before. The security guy was being a dick. He THOUGHT he had power. He didn't. This was on public property. The guy was on public property, outside of the posted barrier. He wasn't acting in a threatening manner, nor did he do or say anything to lead the security officer to believe he would become a threat. The cops would most likely have just told him to stand near a different security guard, then laughed at the rent-a-cop and left.
